Our squadron just received the SIB information about this with corresponding HD video and animation... just like other people have said, the word WOW doesn't even come close to describing the emotions we all felt (during both the first and subsequent viewings). Hopefully, this will serve as a learning tool for all.

Based on his bio, he's served as a commander/commandant of some entity at least 6 times, including at the squadron, group and wing levels. It would be interesting to see how many people have been punished by him for the exact same crime. There has to be a base press release/blotter article with a quote from him talking about how dangerous DUIs are and how one of those is enough to end a career. In all reality, I'm not surprised at the (lack of) punishment he is receiving--we've seen it time and time again with people who wear stars.

I'm a TR at a reserve unit but am on AD orders in the NCR. I will have had my TS for 5 years in summer of 2010. I asked my unit security manager what I needed to do to start the process to get it revalidated. His e-mail response said I wouldn't need to do anything because the unit pays for the investigation and it's expensive so I will not be getting a revalidation for a top secret clearance. I understand that TS investigations are expensive, but I wasn't aware that individual units paid for them. Can a unit security manager just determine that no one from the unit can apply to have their TS revalidated? BR

I'm willing to bet that we're going to see a well-written editorial on the front page of af.mil in the near future about the dangers of alcohol use.

I have a gut feeling that a few years ago, this guy was a senior Capt/junior Maj who was bitching and moaning to all of his buddies/fellow crew dogs about how something like this was so uttertly ridiculous and how the focus should have been on hacking the mission; now that things have changed, these things are no longer ridiculous, but necessary and critical.

It's good to know there were enough bottles of water near the formation in case someone started suffering from heat exhaustion.
