  1. It's not a street bike, but this was my baby before I had to sell her. Hoping to get another one after UPT if the wife will let me.
  2. It's back up.
  3. "Now They Call Me Infidel" by Nonie Darwish. Very eye opening book about Islam and the Middle Eastern culture.
  4. I guess she and others are trying to relive their "glory days." Crowds March
  5. Yes, I have had the IFC1 already. I just didn't know if Brooks would see the record of the surgery and DQ me. But I guess if they don't see the dental records I should be good to go in Feb. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have any unforseen "issues" arise because of the surgery. Thanks!
  6. Ok so here's the deal. I have crowns on my upper and lower teeth. When I went in to get my teeth cleaned awhile back the lead dentist, a Colonel, said I must have crown reduction surgery. Here's my dilemma. First off, the dentist who installed my crowns said I don't need the surgery. Second, I applied to the AD UPT board this year. Could having this surgery affect MFS at Brooks if I get a slot? Could I be DQd? My doc says I'll only be on class 3 status a week after my surgery and it won't affect my FC1 or anything else. Is she correct? Do I have to have the surgery done just because she says I have to? Flight surgeons and everyone else please help! I'm supposed to go under the knife on 1 Feb. Thanks!!
  7. "The New Tigers" by Herbert Molloy Mason I'm surprised no one has mentioned this one yet considering it's about going through UPT (in the 60s and 70s). It's a very good read nevertheless. The New Tigers on Amazon [ 20. January 2007, 12:16: Message edited by: lagguer ]
  8. Yeah I emailed my application on Sunday. I haven't received anything yet. Thanks.
  9. How long did it take for you to be notified of your enrollment after emailing them your application?
  10. Oh and an answer to your original question: once AETC received my "COMPLETED" package, it took about a week.
  11. I've said it before and I'll say it again, BUG THE SHIT OUT OF FLIGHT MED!! They'll tell you they're going to send it off, but if it's anything like mine it'll take them a year and a half. If you want to find out the status of your FC1 PRK Waiver call Mr Kelly out of AETC HQ at DSN 487-3900 EXT#5. He deals with all of the AETC medical waivers. He delt with mine and was EXTREMELY HELPFUL. There's no way I would've had my FC1 done in time for this year's board if it wasn't for him. He told me everything that was missing and I in turn went back to Flt Med and told them what was missing. Don't trust your package to Flt Med alone. Call this guy, find out what you need then call Flt Med. Speaking of which, if ever make it to Randolph I owe him a few.
  12. Since I've been a 63 for the past year and a half, I can say with great confidence that you are a civilian w/ BDUs, playing warrior. As I like to call it, we are the "rear of the spear." The only perks I like from my job is I can work out 5x a week for 2 hrs a day, and have an assload of time to work on my MBA. However, I put in for the AD UPT board this year so my days of waking up at 0730 and leaving a 1630 might be a thing of the past. On the flip side though, acquisitions offers a good back up plan if I can never fly and decide to seperate. But trying to do a full 20 in this career field will kill me and I don't think the civilian side will be any different, I'll just get paid more. Acquisitions is not somewhere you want to be if you hate cubicles and an "Office Space" environment. If you're into that shit, go for it. But if you hate sitting on your ass while watching civilians get fatter, find another AFSC.
  13. All of the 1st LT 62/63s in our org are wearing them and we're under AFMC. However, we deal w/ ICBMs so technically we're under AFSPC too (funding wise), and we're considered working in a "space operation career field." From what I've been told, after a year of working under AFSPC, you have to wear them. They look like something from Star Trek...
  14. What you need to get are a pair of the new Space and Missile "SPWINGS!" (Yes, they are actually called spwings) Pretty sweet if you ask me! All the misileers look like actual pilots now, especially in their purty flight suits!
  15. That's how you can usually tell the USAFA grads from the rest of us "other active duty folk." They have their jump wings on the BDUs and blues.
  16. Lately I've been preparing my guard packages with a civilian style resume layout. However, my Wing's Exec wanted to look at my packages and informed me that I need to do a military resume for the Guard units I'm applying to. What resume style do the units prefer? Does it matter? I'm leaning towards civilian since it shows the whole person experience--before I was in the military and after. The military one just seems to focus on military experience. Thanks. [ 19. 17. Just wondering what all of your opinions are on this: https://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,176935,00.html Kinda sad how PC we've become. It's ok for them to burn, cut up, drag and then string up civilian contractors on bridges However, if we burn some bodies for hygene reasons everyone screams foul-play. Sometimes I think our politically correctness will be our downfall.
  18. I'm trying to go Guard, and I know they look highly at AFOQT scores (at least I think they do). I just don't want to screw myself over both ways. At least this way my PCSM is somewhat competitive.
  19. PCSM: 97 AFOQT P: 73 N:62
  20. Has anyone had their PCSM dropped due to their retaking of the AFOQT? I'm trying to decide whether or not to retake the AFOQT. My fear is that if I do worse on the new AFOQT my PCSM will drop dramatically.
  21. Thanks for the advice all. As far as visiting is concerned, it's a little hard finding the time to visit the units with me being on active duty. I'm hoping to accrue enough leave so I can do that though. But for now, I'll have to settle with my application package speaking for me.
  22. I just want to get a general idea of what units look for on the "paper side" of the selection process. For those of you that have ever been selected to interview: -What were your PCSM/AFOQT scores? -Were you coming from AD, civilian, or in-unit? -How many flight hours and ratings did you have? -What section of your resume do you think were stressed the most by the units before you were invited to the interview? -Do you think they care about age (except the no older than 30)? Thanks in advance!
  23. Got my blood results back today. All normal. Yeah, the dad was worrying about nothing. I figured as much.
  24. No prob. A 90 is an excellent score! Good job and good luck w/ getting a slot!
  25. https://www.aetc.randolph.af.mil/sas/pcsm/C...eck%20score.htm As far as score is concerned, it varies. Some people get slots w/ single digits. Just depends on your competition and how you are overall.
