GA Aircraft Flown
Unfortuantely, there are experience and recency blind spots no matter where you find yourself in the aviation industry. When bringing guys in to fly the B-24 and B-29, I am looking for a mix of: - Multi-pilot, multiengine, "professional" flying - Day/VFR GA flying - Tailwheel experience There are a lot of other desirable traits, but these are the ones that keep the airplanes from getting wrecked.

As long as we're swinging for the fence, don't forget the fleet of Super Cubs that studs need to solo before they can move on to a turboprop.

B-21 Raider
I've gotta go dig in my tubs of ol' USAF shit to find my "WSO Hater Union" card I was once presented at a roll call. Looks like I have others to pass that along to here. Wish I could remember the occasion for which I was awarded it.

GA Aircraft Flown
They have been hosting NATA Formation Clinics out there for several years. An old SAC base with huge runways, lots of ramp space, and tons of clear airspace around it is a particularly good place to have 'em. The runway is long enough that a couple of years ago a formation of T-6s took off, lead had an engine loss of power at about 150' AGL with the gear up, and he was still able to get the gear down and land in the remaining runway. Yessir, that's Doc. Fifi is at home in Dallas already beginning to be pulled apart for winter MX. We also had to cancel our last event of the season (Blytheville, Arkansas, for the opening of the National Cold War Center) due to a prop issue.

Mass ANG Rear Seat Ground Ejection
In the F-15E, the ejection sequencing valve wasn't put into AFT INITIATE until the before takeoff checklist anyway.

Gun Talk
Turns out, when they say, "under Article 32 of the UCMJ, you have the right to remain silent.." it helps keep you from making a false official statement.

Gun Talk
"the unidentified arrested person is accused of making a false official statement, obstruction of justice and involuntary manslaughter" As with most things, it is not answering the questions truthfully that is usually the problem.

Oshkosh, b'gosh!
Do you have our pic? My most exciting part of the week was the 3-engine Fifi landing on Saturday. Fortunately it is minor and she'll be back on the road this week.

Dreamliner Crash
Same deal with this viral vid of the Purple MD-10 on final without the gear. After this incident, the Captain was discovered to have had a brain tumor.

Oshkosh, b'gosh!
We are still sorting out some mx squawks that are grounding even as of today. Full thrash mode. Still planning right now on making it for static on the Plaza starting Monday and flying the show on Wed night.
- WTF? (**NSFW**)

Oshkosh, b'gosh!
As of right now, I'm going to be flying the ride flights out of Appleton Thurs through Sunday. Hopefully I'll be there early in the week just working the crowd for the static display on the plaza. Beers at SOS Bros on me this year. 🙂

Oshkosh, b'gosh!
The CAF B-29 will be there again. We're going to be on the Plaza Mon-Wed like last year, and flying in the evening show on Wednesday with Doc again. Even though I'm the Squadron scheduler, right now I'm not on the board to fly the show. Trying to spread the love since I was in last year.

China 6th Gen Fighter?
There is zero reason a minute or a dime should have been spent on any aspect of a 35 year old design.

Tariff wars
It is literally an Executive Branch agency, and he's the Executive.
-
Tariff wars
You asked "why". You don't have to agree with the answer. The Chevron Deference is gone.
-
Tariff wars
Because Executive Branch agencies have been acting well out of the bounds of their purpose for decades...and it turns out the Executive can do something about that.

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
Then it would have been even more funny to show him in a fancy curated PowerPoint presentation that GA guys with 4 hours of training can figure out how to fly a taildragger safely. That isn't even a fraction as complicated or challenging of a skill to learn as formation flying or even hovering a helicopter. Even a rotorhead could do it.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year
It is about f'n time that service members be reminded of their duty to remain apolitical with respect to well and faithfully discharging the duties of their office.
