You keep telling yourself that as well. I've interviewed recently and many of the employers didn't bat an eye at my 2.99 in Engineering from the Academy. A few friends of mine were asked in almost every interview why they had below a 3.5 from the State University. It's not MIT, but it isn't your standard State University either. You want to bloat the Academy even more? Hire a bunch of "professors" that do "research" like at most schools. When looking for a place to do a real Master's, I looked at many syllabi and numerous school. The level of the courses were Sophomore or Jr level from what I saw at the Academy.

That doesn't mean it couldn't be easily done. Put out a contract. Someone will figure out how to produce a pilot for less money than the Air Force does. It may not be a better pilot, but who really cares right. Piloting ability matters no more.

I see where you are coming from, but the fallacy goes both ways. The same thing can be said about about pilot training. There are other avenues of training a pilot that are much cheaper than pilot than UPT. But the Air Force has control over the product. While there are outliers, the Air Force has much more control over the Academy product than an ROTC product. I'm not saying it's better or not, but they have more control and they like that. And there aren't thousands of colleges out there academically as good as the Academy. Still burn it down.

Stop being a retard. The number of Rhodes Scholars is an indication of the quality of the education. One indication. I hated the fucking place, but I received an excellent education there.

There is nothing more effective against a wide range of targets than a bore sighted GAU-8 with the proper type of rounds.

Yep, I did. I turned down continuation and left "involuntarily" without a dime from the .mil. I'm slightly scared shitless, but one of the first things I am going to do is ditch my horribly negative attitude. Not being in the AF will help drastically. Good luck to y'all.

Won't happen. There is a massive shortage of qualified pilots that have ATP mins (willing to work for regional wages). Back in March, the Captain in charge of hiring at American Eagle said they had 5, yes 5, qualified applicants on file. I predict that hiring at every major and most LCCs will be in full swing by Spring 2014. Now's a good time to get out.
