Tier 3. Maybe Tier 2 if they kiss the correct ass.

This whole discussion is really moot. You have Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 officers. Your tier is determined as a Lt/young Capt. At that point, your career is pretty much mapped for you. Why worry about anything after that?

I've seen a General drop a JDAM on friendly coords (thankfully, they were fully retrograded). Nothing happened. A Wing Commander dropped a BDU on a Maverick pass on a check ride. He got a downgrade. I have numerous other examples. Bottom line, we shouldn't expect too much out of our senior leaders tactically because they are too busy leading. Gone are the days of Sr leaders having street cred (some do, most don't). So, I'd venture to say after one makes O-6, hands don't matter. So why should hands matter for the chosen ones making it to the coveted Sr leader level?

Liquid, from reading your posts, I think you have good intentions. I just think you are so out of touch that you are more of the problem than the solution. I know several well qualified pilots leaving a $100k+ AF flying job for $25k regional job in hopes of making it to a major one day. That says something. And it's not good. Today's Air Force is your Air Force. Own it.
