Every time I open this thread, my decision to volunteer for VSP and subsequently getting passed over are further proven the right direction for me. It's good to just walk away.

There is also a double standard that exists. The chosen ones can do anything without scrutiny while the unchosen are looked at under a microscope. I've clearly never been a chosen one, but after a deployment where I saw vastly different standards enforced, I couldn't take it anymore.

See, that's the thing. I was never told that I was a shitty officer. Not once was I told how I could improve my performance as a pilot and officer. Even when I asked. I was always told I was doing what I needed to do, I was upgraded on time, and I showed job progression. Then I volunteered for VSP, was denied, and was passes over 9 months later. Yep, you're correct. Douche.

Well, I'm giving it till the end of 2015 to get picked up by a major. Even if the flood gates never open and they aren't interesting in my 2200 PIC hours, anything is better than the absolute bullshit I have experienced on Active Duty the last 3 years. There are around 500 or more of those furloughed United guys currently flying on the Continental side. All United furloughees were offered positions with Continental.

WTF are you talking about? United and USAir are hiring. AA has 80 more recalls to bring back before they start hiring, most likely this fall. Delta will start hiring in Jan 2014. The hiring boom hasn't kicked off but, with literally 69% of all airline pilots retiring within the next 12 years, it will.

I started the non-continuation rumor. The AF will always offer pilots continuation. Anyone who accepts it as a Captain passed over to Major is an idiot.
