What's wrong with the Air Force?
So all it takes is a dire threat to the basic manning and viability of our fighter force to get logical, easy policy changes implemented? As soon as this crisis is over, I expect the shenanigans to continue. That memo will be rescinded in a heartbeat.

Balanced? What does that mean? Equal space for facts and "alternate facts"?

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Really well said. I have trouble converting my feelings on some of this into words, and this post communicates my unease very well. Any recommended reading on this subject? Non-partisan analysis is challenging to find.

The Congressman is back yo
Probably expensive because the contract was done by a casual Lt some time in the last month of the fiscal year.

The Congressman is back yo
I'll echo this - DFAS debt collections are super fucked up. My debt was easily shown to be incorrect and it still took 6 months to get it back. You pay or they send you to collections. Their communications take 150 days from when you send in an issue and when they answer.

How do you feel about the proposal to up the USAF manning to 350k? I was optimistic that the new CSAF was going to start fixing some of the inefficiencies in the organization, and now it looks like the the plan is to just throw more bodies at the problem. It seems like it will mask problems in the short term, and fix nothing long term.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
I dunno, if you're at an airline with 2000 people below you in seniority? That's pretty good stability.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Anybody heard anything about the TR bonus? I thought it was unnecessary a few months ago but once our TRs hit second year pay, their exodus may start. It's getting to the point where every day an airline guy works at the unit he loses $500. It's just not sustainable.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
It's not bad for the individuals in AFRC, it's a sign that the organization itself is in trouble. My squadron went from completely healthy to unable to fill its full time positions in just 6 months. Each week a new full time guy is getting a call from the airlines and bailing for a TR spot or retiring completely. I do not know who is going to be around to run the squadron next year. It may be the best time ever to join the AFRC if you can get into the type of position that you want. Job security should be high and progression appears to be practically unlimited.

That Cyber Thread
The second sentence is "However, public attribution of these activities to RIS is supported by technical indicators from the U.S. Intelligence Community, DHS, FBI, the private sector, and other entities." You want details in an unclassified report? Do you have any idea how this stuff works? The CIA, the FBI, the "U.S. Intelligence Community," and the Department of Homeland security is all in agreement on something, and you consider that "weak ass"? What is wrong with you? Maybe you should spend some time on SIPR before you post here again.

Promotion and PRF Information
I can't imagine anyone less qualified than a person who does not want to be in the service anymore. Promoting bitter officers just creates bitter squadrons.

I actually should thank a personnelist. Their incompetence was a contributing factor in my decision to separate, and boy is life better on the outside!

Time to abolish the Air Force?
Man, that sounds completely different than AirLand Battle, errr, I mean, Full Spectrum Operations.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
I still think the theory that makes the most sense is that the updated bonus was designed to make stop loss more palatable to Congress. It allows the Air Force to say, "See, we tried to give them more money! There's no other option except for stop loss!" There's no way that anyone actually believes that even $50k/yr solves the retention problem, but it would give leadership an "out" in 2018 (the same year that RAND predicted a stop loss).

Osan Viper pilot ejects after landing
Is that 4 f-16 crashes in the last 7 years at Osan after touchdown?
