So, I put the spare new barrel I got with my GSG-5 in yesterday afternoon, and I think I know the source of my FTF problems! The top side of the feed ramp isn't too bad...here it is compared to the new one on the bottom... But check out the burr on the bottom! So hopefully I've got the cure! Oh, and here's a pic of my GSG-5; it really is a fun little carbine, I just hope this solves the issues I've been having with it! Cheers! M2

I went through in 81 and I vaguely remember a training manual that may or may not have had aircraft pics in it; but hell, it’s been nearly 30 years! But I do remember my TI (SSgt Rodgers) telling us about all the aircraft in the inventory at the time (the USAF was still flying F-105s then) and saying how an A-10 could turn within the distance of two nearby buildings. Being a clueless 18-year-old at the time, I envisioned some high-tech, space aged looking machine in stainless steel. When I finally saw a Hog, it was quite different than what I imagined… Cheers! Yeah, 89 pages is getting to be a bit too much to muddle through looking for info. Maybe if a few people asked, BaseOps would set up a subsection of the Squadron Bar forum for firearms! Just don't tell him you got the idea from me! Oh, and our local BXtra actually carries 7.62x39, but the price ain't that great. Still, it's nice to know it's there; and I may just buy some anyhow to let AAFES know that there are customers for the stuff. Cheers! M2
