    High promotion rate can be deceptive...My YG was promoted at about 75% overall. For DP it was nearly 100% but Ps only promoted at about 50% rate.

    If you want PRF feedback, schedule an appointment. If you want the SR to explain to you why you got a P, schedule an appointment. I've never had a SR unwilling to meet personally to explain my situation.

    I spent every assignment flying. Have never missed a gate month. Even my non-vol 365 was flying. No staff. IDE by correspondence. Am in a flying-till-retirement assignment now. Never made it above the wing staff. P on my IPZ PRF. But that looks like Kool Aid to some.

    Whatever. I did what I needed to do in my time to play by the advertised rules for promotion. Don’t like it? Don’t do it. But don’t cry when you get passed over.

    I for one never considered how quickly a fighter can get from rotate to gear over speed during takeoff. My first impression was that it was ridiculous to rotate that early, but it makes sense now where that community is coming from. Hopefully some good procedural improvements come about from this mishap.

    If instructions to the board say not to consider it I believe the board will do their level best to comply (I know, flame away). Now, will that keep your WG/CC from giving you a P when you may otherwise deserve a DP? Who knows. I did ACSC in 2013 when it was Read-a-Book-Take-a-Test and it wasn’t hard. It wasn’t all that interesting either to me. But I just don’t agree that you deserve promotion because you were one of the three dudes in 2005 YG that stayed in.

    Is that what he said? Or that "method" of completion is not a discriminator? Hence complete/not complete versus Residence/Non-residence.

    I'll disagree with you here. Kicking them out would be wrong, but nobody owes you a promotion. Want to get promoted? Check the company boxes. Being a passed over Major is probably what a lot of guys wanted anyway....just with less pay. BL: a record without IDE is not a great record, regardless of how "useful" IDE is.

    I’ll be willing to bet that no IDE by any method will lead to being passed over. You just showed up at your new unit and the accounting is with the new CC? Good luck. Or are you Duck and hoping to get passed over?

    Why would your losing or gaining commander allow this to happen?

    I guess what I mean is that based on my feedback with my SR the 365 was likely the points that put me at #3/4 in my group and hence the top P or “super P” strat by the WG/CC. For reference, the #4 guy in our group was passed over.

    Yes, each community/wing will have a different method. Hopefully you don't have to switch communities between the 1BPZ and IPZ writes. I was fortunate to have a Wing staff that put a lot of work into 1BPZ PRFs so that IPZ PRFs took very little tweaking a year later.

    Mods, feel free to remove if this is not allowed. Here is an example of a Lt Col IPZ PRF that was promoted with a P, and the kind of deployed info that was included. I redacted a bunch of stuff to protect the guilty (me). I will say this: that 365 was probably the straw that pushed me over the line to O-5.
