  1. Sorry, I don't care how "good for the country" it theoretically is. It's not Liberty to force anyone in a free society into mandatory compulsory service for anything. Ever. Yes, that includes the abominable draft. I cannot think of ANY reason, at any time, for a free citizen to be compelled to perform service in the name of government, under threat of punishment or imprisonment.

  2. Completely disagree. Mandatory, required, compulsory "service" in the government, of any duration or task, by free citizens, should never exist in the land of the free... And I'm surprised to see support for such ideas from us -- dedicated to preserving Liberty.

  3. The income tax is theft, regardless of the 16th Amendment. The FairTax is not, and would be much better for the country.

  7. First of all, the 3 or 4 articles of yours I read we're all conjecture...not exactly the results of a scientific study. Googling "famous people who plagiarized" is not research. Saying that Ambrose plagiarized because he didn't put quotes around a particular paragraph, for exams, is pretty queepy. And I've never swung off of anything of his. Second, If you believe the article (did you even read it?), Obama didn't plagiarize anyone else's work...he just had somebody write the book for him. That happens all the time. Being angry over that will do about as much good as worrying about his birth certificate at this point. Finally, the book didn't make him president. His public speaking, promise of free stuff (healthcare/phones/etc), and his race made him president. Being the democrat option after Bush didn't hurt either. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  8. Whose nuts we swing off of? What the fuck are you talking about? You always get a couple good posts in and then go tinfoil hat off the deep end again.

  9. Leadership second guessing is nothing new. Early in my career, a friend was bringing a jet back from the UK when they got a "Vibe Hi" light somewhere over Scotland. In the B-1, those lights are either spurious (bad sensor) or they indicate that the motor in question is about to come apart catastrophically. Because you can't tell the difference, you treat it like an impending failure. The AC shut down the engine and returned to their point of departure. Leadership hit the ceiling and wanted to know why they didn't bring the jet home, across the North Atlantic, in clear violation of Dash 1 emergency procedure guidance. There is no situation too clear cut to be Monday morning quarterbacked.
