  1. UPDATE: YouTube embedding has been simplified, see DFRESH's post below for details. Is this you when you when you try to embed YouTube videos in your posts? If so, see below. 1) In order for the video to actually show up instead of just a link, you must use a properly formatted address inside the "media" tags. This is the right way (without the spaces, of course): [ media ] http :// www. youtube .com/ watch?v= N5EaSFsDvEg [ /media ] If you try to embed with any variation of the address other than the one shown above, it won't work. The key is the part in red. You have to enter the full YouTube domain name, not a shortened one like "youtu.be.com." Leave out anything that comes between the "?" and "v=" 2) If the address you are trying to embed with looks similar to any of the following, simply reformat the address as shown above by deleting the parts in blue and keeping the rest. If you see a "&" anywhere in the address, that's your clue to edit: http :// www. youtube .com /watch? feature=player_profilepage& v= dgDlV0f6lx4 (<---note where the "v=" is) http :// www. youtube .com /watch?v= YmXvQqEcJZ8 &feature=youtu.be 3) Video ID's are composed of upper and lower case alphanumeric characters and may also have hyphens or underscores. Simply place the video ID after the "=" and you are good to go. Examples: 3iNBbrV6-CM s_8iItIGi28 dQw4w9WgXcQ

  3. Note that in gearpig's example he used some "alternate" punctuation as to keep the forum software from interpreting and converting the text as code. For example, in the URL he used ';' instead of ':' and in his embedding example he used the brack '{' instead of '[' Adjust accordingly...

  4. Not calling you out, but THIS attitude is pervasive at the SQ/CC & DO level in many MWS's...and is one of the reasons people KEEP starting AAD earlier and earlier...

  5. I scored big time at my local Walmart this weekend. They got a ton of ammo in and I was lucky enough to be there right when they brought it out, and to have a salesman that would sell me 3 boxes and then let me buy more after going to the back of the line several times. (Everyone was doing it too... kind of funny to watch.) Also, does anyone here have much experience with sniper rifles? I've been looking at the Savage Arms 110 BA .338 Lapua as a starter. Yes, I know it costs an arm and a leg to shoot too.

  6. This. .22LR is scarce at the moment, .40 is probably the most available handgun caliber around at the moment. It's easier to find that 9mm and .45ACP. If I see any .22, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat!

  7. I certainly wouldn't advocate working a masters at the same time as going through a school house, but speaking for the tanker clowns among us, if you can't hack flying the tanker and doing some classes on the side then you are probably mentally retarded.

  8. Why not buy the .22 ammo (unless you don't have a .22, or have a lot of .22 ammo stocked up)? Reason I ask is because looking at slickguns.com regularly, I see quite a bit of .40 available, for about $3-5 more a box than pre-scare. .22 on the other hand is pretty scarce against you're willing to pay over double on gunbroker.

  9. This surprises you? I could tell by the trailer that it was going to be bullshit...

  10. One addition - if you have https enabled on your browser, remove the "s" before you paste the link or it will only show as a link (vice video).

  12. I would say the exact opposite. Go somewhere where the weather is prone to being shitty. I went through UPT at Laughlin and virtually never flew in the weather. The first time I really flew through the weather was my first ride with a student as a FAIP at Columbus, when I also flew down to mins. Like Wolf said, you're going to graduate on time, even if it means you double turn on the good days and fly on the weekend, so why not go somewhere that has some challenges? As for the Sheppard comment, you obviously weren't a statistics major.

  13. Huggy, I thought I'd heard it was tradition in the Deuce world to get your solo number tatted? Urban legend? [not that tradition would force you to do so if you were opposed, but I assume you would at least "consider" it]
