I have heard that a lot of Air Force pilot communities have a lot of social drinking occasions. In light of this, what happens when an officer or anyone for that matter doesn't drink for religious or other personal reasons? Thanks!

Has anyone heard of a website TACC is using to track fuel burn by aircraft and aircraft commander?

I refuse to get a CAC reader for my home computer.... So, I was wondering if anyone has a digital copy of Area Planning - 2 (AP/2). I have everything else on disk (gp, ap1 etc....). I actually did a search figuring that this has been discussed, not much came up. Sounds like it should be flying in 2008, and half of Europe is ordering them, but not the US (according to google). European made I suppose. H3 - $30 million J model - $60 million A400M - $90 million payload of 64k, a little faster than the Herc, cargo area a little bigger than the Herc, and it has that neat tiger-stripe paint job.

Did a search and got a little info but not what I was really looking for. Does anyone do a side job in addition to your flying job? I am sure that it is difficult if not impossible with the current state of the Air Force but I have heard of people teaching night classes or something like that for a few extra $$$. Is the "O" for "Observation"? Is it generally for FAC's? Is there anything different about the OA-10 than there is about the A-10? I've never heard of the 310th guys flying the OF-16... Cheers! -Stuck

Anyone know somebody who has done this? I'm really leaning towards trying to get one of these slots when i'm done with my tour here in England. Wife will have to get citizenship but that's just a trip to the states and back. I'll also be in for a long bit of training (up to 1 year depending on language). The job really sounds interesting and definitely very few do it. Anybody have any info. I have already emailed the Europe Defense Attache program dude and he has gotten back to me but it was pretty much a canned answer to some of my questions.

I was wondering how most units assign STATESIDE callsign numbers, i.e., Speedo 60, Pogo 21. Do most folks get a choice in the matter or are they just assigned one? If you get a choice, are there any cool stories associated with how people chose their numbers? And if there are any OPSEC issues with this tread, please delete is ASAP.

Hey guys, I've been diagnosed with a pretty f$%ked up back and there is a good chance I will be permanently DNIF'd for it. Although I would love to get out via VSP or Palace Chace, it does not appear to be an option at this time. So, I pose this question, is it possible for me to cross flow into another AFSC, say Acquisitions Management (63A) to finish out my 10 year ADSC? Thanks for the help...

I was getting VFR sectionals at my base ops map room and noticed that they dont carry terminal area charts for class bravo airspace...is there a DOD equivalent that NGA might publish ???

I just track selected, Laughlin 08-07, and was chosen to fly UH-1 at Fort Rucker and was wondering if anyone knows the chances in going to CV-22's upon completion? Also, any good advice for what to expect at Rucker would be appreciated too! Thanks!

I'm trying to switch from cable to Dish Network or Direct TV before football season. Both places want an 18-month or 2-year committment to get a decent deal. If I sign up for one of these, would I be able to cancel my service when I leave for OTS without paying a fee? I know there's something like this for renters, just wondering if the same applied here.

From the posts I'm reading on "Airline Pilot Central", UPS hiring process is pretty JACKED. Very confusing at the least... Anybody on this board started the process yet? What obstacles are you running into? Rumor is you cannot update your info once you've submitted it (unlike FedEx). Can anyone verify? I have absolutely everything except the ATP practical-- which I have scheduled two weeks from now-- but I'm afraid to submit without it for fear of not being able to add it later.

Hi, I'm a C-17 IP at CHS looking for a little gouge... to those currently at Little Rock AFB flying the 130J - they're searching Charleston for 2 C-17 Airdrop ACs to go fly the 130J...I understand from searching through a myriad of 130j posts on this forum that the training is for 6 months (fam/msn), and I've got a handle on what living in Little Rock is like for that time. My questions specifically though are ---> 1) Is the 130J operational and flying around the desert? The AF Times has an interesting story w/ pics for the new place, 'Millenium Village'. Looks decent, although I'm not really sure I understand the rationale of the rooms sharing a kitchenette...I'd rather have my own room/bathroom, thank you. What'll be REALLY nice is now we won't have to stay in the goddam tents whenever we come through as transients...transient aircrew don't get the trailer billets, just a tent w/ a dude working a jackhammer outside. Wonder how much of CC they'll tear down though...
