I was getting VFR sectionals at my base ops map room and noticed that they dont carry terminal area charts for class bravo airspace...is there a DOD equivalent that NGA might publish ???

I just track selected, Laughlin 08-07, and was chosen to fly UH-1 at Fort Rucker and was wondering if anyone knows the chances in going to CV-22's upon completion? Also, any good advice for what to expect at Rucker would be appreciated too! Thanks!

I'm trying to switch from cable to Dish Network or Direct TV before football season. Both places want an 18-month or 2-year committment to get a decent deal. If I sign up for one of these, would I be able to cancel my service when I leave for OTS without paying a fee? I know there's something like this for renters, just wondering if the same applied here.

From the posts I'm reading on "Airline Pilot Central", UPS hiring process is pretty JACKED. Very confusing at the least... Anybody on this board started the process yet? What obstacles are you running into? Rumor is you cannot update your info once you've submitted it (unlike FedEx). Can anyone verify? I have absolutely everything except the ATP practical-- which I have scheduled two weeks from now-- but I'm afraid to submit without it for fear of not being able to add it later.

Hi, I'm a C-17 IP at CHS looking for a little gouge... to those currently at Little Rock AFB flying the 130J - they're searching Charleston for 2 C-17 Airdrop ACs to go fly the 130J...I understand from searching through a myriad of 130j posts on this forum that the training is for 6 months (fam/msn), and I've got a handle on what living in Little Rock is like for that time. My questions specifically though are ---> 1) Is the 130J operational and flying around the desert? (excuse my ignorance please...google and wikipedia just aren't cutting it these days) 2) If so, do the 130Js deploy as much as the 130Es out there currently? (ie. 4 on 4 off) 3) Finally, does anyo…

The AF Times has an interesting story w/ pics for the new place, 'Millenium Village'. Looks decent, although I'm not really sure I understand the rationale of the rooms sharing a kitchenette...I'd rather have my own room/bathroom, thank you. What'll be REALLY nice is now we won't have to stay in the goddam tents whenever we come through as transients...transient aircrew don't get the trailer billets, just a tent w/ a dude working a jackhammer outside. Wonder how much of CC they'll tear down though...

First time poster and I know it's a stupid question but had to ask. I'll explain. I'm a Navy pilot and mod over at airwarriors. Lately we've had a rash of posers pretending to be aviators. They've been exposed, much to their chagrin. To think, people pretending to be something they are not on the net . Anyway, on another forum a guy claims to be an F-16 pilot and AF lawyer, a major select at age 26. I have just finished reading Not A Good Day To Die, which recounts Operation Anaconda principally from a ground pounder perspective. While the book makes clear that both pre-planned and on-call CAS was crucial to the operation from the get-go, and concedes that the Air Force was only vaguely involved in the planning of the operation, it does little to analyse the eventual failures of fixed wing CAS (both the pre-planned and the on-call) that it says occurred. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of any Aircrew people being issued Glock 19's? I have a buddy (retired Sec. Forces CATM) that heard that aircrew people were being issued Glocks, instead of the usual POS M-9's. Both of us thought that sounded strange (knowing how much drama is involved in getting people qualified normally, let alone on a whole new weapon), just wondering if anyone else had heard of such a thing.

How is it that people find jobs like "gymnastics coach" at the AFA? Or Jump team pilot at the AFA? Or IP for iraqi student pilots? Is there a book published that I am not aware of? And I don't suppose that there is any sort of "waiver" that allows a nav to teach AFA cadets to fly a DA20? Or even Iraqis? At this point I'll take anything..

Does anyone have any stories of buds they know being a single parent going through UPT? Please provide details on what the flight commander's thought, tactics they used to be approved for it, etc. I know that some may say it is going to be impossible, but I think it would be much harder if my wife leaves me and takes my daughter away from me. Just wondering if the T38 IP's at these bases were U-2 and B-2 pilots or if they are strictly T-38 IP's , and if they are where do they usually come from ???UPT bases or from MWS's thanx for the help. and do they still fly A model or did they get the c model ?????//
