I hope this happens to Tops in Blue and all the other "morale" functions considering the Thunderbirds reach more people than any military band.

Doubtful, why is it with the vast majority of AF leadership being rated pilots that the Thunderbirds are first to be grounded but no mention if TIB? Oh wait I forgot sequestration was supposed to hurt, so cutting the TBirds and keeping TIB makes perfect sense.

Politics. The T-Birds and Blue Angels are famous. Cutting them allows the chiefs to give congress the finger in the public perception.

In other news, at Hill AFB yesterday for a jet pickup from depot, remember the TBird Viper that wrecked at Mt Home. Few years back? They rebuilt it and are sending it back to Nellis as an aggressor, wouldn't fly that bird.

In other news, pilot selected for O-6.

He was the Wg/SE guy at Columbus a few years back. Seemed like a good dude from a lowly 2nd Lt POV. Just goes to show mistake =/ crime.

He took over as the IFF CC after his safety gig, probably didn't hurt either.
