Dude, you'll be fine; don't worry about it. You're not going to be missing some piece to the puzzle that is only found at IFS. That's why it's called "Flight Screening" not "Initial Flight Instruction From Which Your Entire Military Aviation Career Will Be Predicated Upon." They'll teach you what you need at UPT. Enjoy the time off until then.

The time from design/engineering to full production on the Viper/Hornet was really short, around 5 years. I'm guessing munitions were released sometime around the competitive fly off period between the two jets, a couple years prior.

The media's ability to actively exploit a tragedy never ceases to surprise me. Foxnews followed the shooter's dad through the airport yesterday, grilling him incessantly, until he got through security; by virtue of the fact that he wasn't responding to any of their questions and had a glazed look on his face, it was obvious he was a wreck. Thoughts and prayers for all the families directly and indirectly involved.
