tunes, don't let your readiness to file an IG complaint prevent someone else from applying because you think it's pointless. You don't have all the information. I have a UPT ADSC and I haven't been denied yet. I'm betting my ADSC expires before yours does.
don't worry, your time will come. I'm all for people applying....and i wish everyone got approved. It's just I don't want these people getting their hopes up since they haven't been denied yet. You probably do have less than me...but there were 2 guys at my base with under 10 months of UPT ADSC left that got the first batch of denials right along with me.
-
If you have a UPT ADSC it's time to give up the ghost....the rejection notes from all those denied say its specifically for UPT ADSC and therefore ineligible...if they then process other apps with UPT ADSC and approve them, the people that got denied have a whole hell of a lot of ammo..
-
Did they change your RDTM?
Bendy
nope, just core ID

Million dollar question. Will we have an answer this week? Or maybe a first batch result?
"first batch" was processed 2+ weeks ago when the first round of mass UPT ADSC denials went out...
-
I don't follow your logic.
The Air Force is not going to let any 11Fs leave prior to their commitment. They are only going to let 11Ms over "100% manning" leave prior to their commitment (whatever number that is), and if they could manage it (which their track record isn't very good) they would try to TERA/VSP enough 11Ms without letting anyone out of their ADSC to get to "100% manning".
a good portion of the 11M manning has been solved by the powers at AFPC. They took all the 11Ms and the few 11Bs that went to the MC-12 and changed everyone's Core ID to 11R.

Great, with 5 years UPT ADSC left, I have no hope if there are that many applicants.
you already have no hope with a UPT ADSC....your denial will come just like the rest did

You'd think so, but I think that's going to be an obstacle for some people. As I understand it, under the FY14 PC program, you've got to have the gaining unit information completed before you submit. Regular PC doesn't require it until well after you submit. I'm at a TFI, staying with the host guard unit, and still running into hiccups from the recruiting folks on attaching the position number to the PC form before it's signed off by the losing Wg/CC (not at my base). It's a new wrinkle that will hopefully iron itself out next week, but I'd hate to be dealing with a unit that doesn't really know me in another state. If that line of thinking holds, it gives power to the losing Wg/CC, who has no say in the matter under the regular PC program. Hopefully, it won't.
I'm not smart, and certainly not smart on ANG stuff, but it seems like we're basing the FY PC program on the assumption that ANG units will just hand out position numbers on their manning documents to these active duty guys without knowing if they'll actually be approved to separate or not. All it's going to take is for a few units to "hire" guys who don't get PC approved and miss out on the off-the-street hires & other PC'ing folks that they have to turn down because they're out of "positions" before the PC program starts to stink as bad as VSP.
This post is heavy on opinion, so call me out if you think it's off base. I'm talking out of my a**, but I think the gaining unit information was added as a requirement to the FY program because A1/AFPC is requesting delegation of the ADSC waiver authority from SAF, who normally processes PC apps. This way they know the folks they're letting out are walking into a job somewhere. I think that as an unintended consequence, they've created a catch 22.
All good points...I think it really depends on the unit. I interviewed with a unit and told them exactly what was going on with this debacle. They ended up giving me a position number and said they hoped I could work some PC/VSP/RIF magic.

I don't disagree at all, just parroting what I was told. They did say that people with less than 4 years of UPT ADSC remaining are being approved right now through the "regular" PC program. I don't really care which set of wickets my application travels through as long as it's approved.
a guy with 4 yrs 5 months according to the PC thread....

So, now that I'm back from Camp Cupcake and my VSP was denied, I decided to submit Palace Chase paperwork. After getting spun up on the new PDSM (apparently re-written to specifically include pilots so the AF can avoid VSP payouts), I called the in-service recruiter I'd been working with before Farce Shaping 2014 kicked off. She told me the UPT ADSC waiver authority issues affecting VSP also apply to FY14 Palace Chase, and I'm ineligible for the FY program too.
Because our organization is inept, I'm thankfully still eligible to apply under the regular PC program which has a slightly different routing through the wickets so I've got my fingers crossed it gets approved.
FWIW, I've never tried so hard to get fired in my life.
wow......
hopefully this is sorted out by the time i return from my deployment in a few weeks as to what PC program to apply for.

the wright pat sight is down for me as of yesterday

Devil's advocate...
The way I (as confirmed by my WG/CC) understand it, the current guidance will not allow for most ADSC waivers. With a presumably large number of the VSP apps requiring some sort of waiver, perhaps this is a stall tactic until SecAF approval to waive these commitments is granted. Otherwise they risk starting the whole application process from scratch for the majority of VSP'ers.
Wishful thinking? Probably.
If that's the case...fine...but then they shouldnt have denied the first batch like they did and instead just let them sit at AFPC with the others.
-
they have...seems they rejected a batch with UPT ADSCs a few weeks ago, while some with UPT ADSCs are still at AFPC
-
Question for any 11Ms that have or know someone who have Palace Chased recently, what commitments are guys getting curtailed? 12 months, 16? wondering what will be the most likely to get approved balanced with what is the most is reasonable to put on the app?
Guy posted a few weeks ago in the PC thread that he had 4 yrs 5 mo. of UPT ADSC waived when his PC was just approved.
-
so say guys get VSP approved with a UPT ADSC....yet they kicked a bunch back a few weeks ago for UPT ADSC saying ineligible...is there any recourse?
-
50/50? Who has been approved so far?
50/50 as in apps that have already been denied vs. what is still sitting at BPO
-
so from talking to people it seems like its 50/50 on denials for UPT ADSC and completely random of who has already been denied and who is still at BPO
-
mine is black
-
i wonder why some of us with UPT ADSCs have already been denied while others have not...
-
got my denial....eligible on every matrix and overage on rif matrix.
Your request to separate is being returned disapproved as you are currently ineligible for the FY14 Officer Voluntary Separation Pay (VSP) program. Based on current delegated authorities, officers with ADSCs not listed as waiverable in PSDM 13-65, FY14 Officer Voluntary Force Management are not eligible for this program. Please continue to monitor the myPers website for announcements that could affect your eligibility. If the eligibility is expanded, you may reapply for VSP before the FY14 VSP window closes

If I take the written before August, and the practical after August, which hours requirement will apply? I'm on a non-flying assignment and I just checked my hours, plus .3 per sortie for taxi time and I'm at 1483.
you can't add .3 per sortie to your time for the ATP requirements...thats an airline conversion thing, not FAA

So where does it say that they are "blanket returning" applications made by 11X's with ADSC's still left? I read that to say you can leave your application in and we will review it on 3 Mar 14, but if you aren't sure you really want to VSP because you are not sure you will be on the RIF or not then feel free to withdraw your VSP application. What am I missing?
also what I got out of it....hopefully it stays that way....
-
And this is exactly what AFPC wants. No separation pay expense, plus some of those 500 Total Force pilot vacancies listed in the PSDM get filled. Now that they have tricked us into showing our cards, they have the chance to fully evaluate the market conditions and "change the truth" to their benefit. We are not being dealt with in good faith.
Unfortunately, the short-term savings isn't worth the long-term loss of institutional credibility. But that'll be the next guy's problem.
sadly, im 100% okay with this...i'd have to pay my vsp money back eventually, so yeah losing out on the interest free loan sucks....but the big picture is getting to the other side.

As much as I hate to potentially walk away from the (alleged) money, I'll Palace Chase as soon as my app is returned and I get back to home station.
this....i return next month...my PC application will be in before the new RIF PSDM is released.....assuming the above is true about them kicking them all back.
those of us in the MC-12 community just got this gem from APC after they changed our core IDs from 11M to 11R
latest guidance from AFPC "You will be in the 11R bucket (E-3, E8, RJ)..a return to MAF is unlikely"

doesnt work for me either...all day has been giving me a 500 server error certificates have been revoked
