and another week has come and gone at afpc
-
Its also in the q&a dated 6 may. What reg is that written in? It goes against everything we've been told since December. It's something I need to see to believe. Not saying I'm doubting you, just verifying.

I was under the impression you had to take terminal and couldn't sell back leave for vsp

Damn... thats awesome. We better find out the verdicts soon!
yeah, i'd be done mid june with a sept 29 separation date because of it....
-
Really? So we get 20 days of job hunting if approved for VSP? I'm scheduled for a 737-Type rating/ATP course in June. Would love to use PTDY instead of taking Leave.
yep, 20 days of PTDY when separating...pretty legit.

so further clarification. apparently the 1 guy got an email saying to update his irr and it was denied...so only 1 denial and we dont know what for.
-
i start terminal on the 17th and dos is june 16
i'll be honest...i'd be surprised if we hear back results by then.....
-
@tunes
What base? Any justification for the denial?
I'm a 2006 11R and the suspense is killing me.
Beale. 1 was told it was because he had the wrong IRR (edited to add: he was only told to update, not denied) ...the one I was talking about said he only got an email saying "denied, you are welcome to apply when the next window opens may 22"
-
I'm still referred to BPO. AFPC said today I was smoking crack and 7 may was never a date at which they would do anything. Awesome

kinda like how next week 'mid may' will be the same...

2006 11R in my squadron got a denial email this morning in his personal email. Told him to reapply in the next window May 22.

so i should bring my printed off flight records to an airline interview even though I've put all my mil stuff in Log Ten Pro to go along with my civilian stuff?

we had a prior E AWACS backender in my UPT class....wore his leather jacket on day one and told the rest of us studs we had to earn it.....

dangerous using logic and reason here....but that wold seem to imply notifications will go out by the 22nd when the 2nd vsp window opens.

Pretty sure you can't do the added .3 per sortie when getting your times for a faa rating. My understanding is there is no reg that allows that and it is airline specific for hiring purposes only. The regionals are basically hiring anyone that meets FAA requirements...even if they have to add .3 per sortie for taxi time to get to that 750 (totally legal and legit but shows how desperate the regionals are to get people). I don't know anyone that already had a restricted ATP BEFORE they got hired though because the sim check counts as your ATP practical.

it would also make sense for them to process these FY14 VSP apps now.....but we all know that isn't happening.
As for the RIF, it's the FY15 RIF now since its in October.

I've seen both with a pretty constant functional recommend disapproval but an overall approval.Question for the recent successful Palace Chasers, did your squadron and wing CCs recommend approval or disapproval?

The problem is at least at my base it takes about a month from when you start the PC app to when it's submitted to afpc. Most of us went with vsp because of the whole they said monthly batches.... And you are attempting to apply logic... Something big blue is unfamiliar with. This was my logic also. Would I like the PURE freedom to get out and get money in addition? Absolutely. But this SEEMS to be a business decision by the AF and despite being a military, decisions will be made from a business standpoint (IMO). To me the VSP is a gamble, none of us know how they will truly figure this out. PC on the other hand is an easier decision because they aren't completely losing you. Of course I could be way off, but I just got approved in less than 2 days after submitting my PC app with a position number. If some of you are on the fence and have a position number, just think about it because a lot of people are quickly getting approved right now. Good luck everyone.

I really don't think there will be a rated RIF

If they had made PC eligible for people deployed my vsp app would have been recalled a long time ago...but recalling it when returning from deployment 3 weeks before the window closed for vsp didn't make much sense.

well, window closed...lets get the results out.

Except the mc12 isn't a mws....I believe in this instance it will (could?) probably be a third MWS for Slick and some of the other MC-12 guys, since right now we have more questions than answers. Legacy Herk guys maybe or maybe not going to the J, Hog guys going who knows where and all the mobility guys who came here due to 169% manning in their previous communities. Many waiting on May 1, the AF isn't creating any more cockpits...

I'm on leave so that was the 427 email someone forwarded to me. I was told 489 was the same but I guess that parts not in the 489 one.Where does it say that? I just re-read it (the email sent via 489th) and I don't see that request. I assume there is a counterpart email for the 427th...is that where that is coming from?
There would be some logic to giving those people assignments that would not require immediate replacement (i.e. Not one deep). I'm not saying it's sound logic, just logic. ...or, it's to fuck you over with a shitty assignment, that would be logical too.
