Would the new HC-130J move to AFSOC as well? Did not see a mention of it, but makes sense since the HC/MC are almost identical. Designate Moody and DM as AFSOC but with the PR qual. Just my 2 cents. WxMan

As a legacy guy turned J, I still sometimes just want to click George off and hand fly. Automation frees up a lot of brain bites, but it is still all stick and rudder landing at Salerno max gross weight.

I'm a slick guy going HC-130Js, so what you are asking is possible. Since you are in UPT, just let your flight commander and IPs know you want to go this route and put it number 1 on your dream sheet. Like anything, timing is everything. Best of luck and study hard! WxMan

C-17 Lands at Wrong Airport
"In addition, because of the changes in destination, the crew was unable to review the physical layout of MacDill during a preflight briefing, something Air Force rules recommend be done as often as possible." I guess after watching the 2nd Season of 24, there was not enough time during the flight 10 hour flight to at least glance at the Airfield Diagram/FLIP. Wxman

We had a MX guy do this at Salem. Pretty funny at the end when the golden FOD went missing from its original hiding place and no one was claiming it. We could not leave the flight line until someone turned it in. Not quite sure what the dude was thinking...
