Yeah, and I'm not going to say its all the same players at all the same times. Like, on that call we had Fox and CNN there and it was clear both agreed on some things and disagreed on others. But generally they were looking for the things they were in concurrence about to get emphasis and then each outlet would put their own little damper on things they disagreed about.

It’s strange to think of all the press against Biden in that event but remember target #2 for Taliban after Terps/ANSOF/Pilots was Journalist. Many of those journalist had VERY close relationships with these networks and those networks relied on them to get inside stories and information that would have been culturally inaccessible to them before. US Media was funding HUGE money to get female journalist OUT in anyway possible.

Well unfortunately for the media, worldwide coverage of Afghans falling off a U.S. C-17 taking off from Kabul is pretty hard to spin, and a pretty fitting sight for the most incompetent administration and defense department in history.

This may be terrible, but it is what it is. The average American either A) Does not have the time to differentiate between the bullshit and make informed decisions or B) Is too lazy to take the time to analyze and think critically about the information they are presented with which almost never is honest and unbiased.

Or maybe the average person no longer has that capacity which is why voting was restricted to property owners in the past, people who had a legit stake.

I’m not proposing that, but maybe only those who actually pay taxes, or conduct a public service get a say in “our” future. Think Starship Troopers.

Your last point isn’t too far off from what our country was designed to be. We are a constitutional republic, not a democracy after all. But never mind all that, you’re a racist if you support IDs to vote or don’t want deadbeat prisoners voting.

Most incompetent administration in history. What do they have to gain by pushing the mask mandate? There has still got to be a large portion of their voting base that is obsessed with masks and terrified of COVID or something.

I'll fight for Orange County lol.   Or maybe just move to Costa Rica?  There are plenty of Chinese and Chinese Americans already living here in OC and LA.   Red China would probably do a better job taking care the homeless problem.  Lol.

And keep Tahoe, Yosemite, and Reno areas. We could just give them everything West if I-5 and call it a day. What a great deal to avoid WW3.

Nah bro, says that you oversimplify things significantly into right or wrong, black or white. You have become what you criticize, and you all wonder why folks stopped commenting back. The forum turned significantly more into an echo chamber the last year, which has been nice for you guys, but doesn’t necessarily represent reality.

We all, right now, have the benefit of knowledge we did not have when decisions were being made. Your debrief choice (i can’t really call it a loop) is that we all made and then executed the wrong decisions in the beginning of the pandemic, and that “we” have doubled and tripled down and screeched the entire time. But in reality we as a society had very limited SA or perception of what the actual truth of the situation was until science uncovered some of those answers. It took months to years for that. And, you seem to forget, we had to operate and make decisions in that limited SA environment. You can’t put the big arrow on a decision when your SA is super low. The ends don’t justify the means. I believed, and will continue to believe, you 100% did not have the SA in the Summer of 2020.

For example, we now know mRNA vaccines are entirely ineffective at stopping transmission - we were hopeful they would be very effective. Didn’t know that. We now know that we’re looking at a significantly lower mortality variant with significantly higher spread - the first variant spread slower but had a mortality rate about 10 times higher pre-vaccine. Didn’t know when that was coming. We know that COVID is airborne. Didn’t know that, remember folks sanitizing everything? We know how to test for it, and we know generally how long folks are contagious. We understand mortality risks much more completely now (fat and old). We did not know any of these things with significant certainty for a long time.

You’ll also note that many folks on here changed our minds on many policies as more data emerged. As folks got vaccinated and mortality decreased and transmission reduction efforts clearly failed, many folks like me changed our opinions. We built SA and made decisions with said SA. You can demonize that, if you want, but it’s a pretty rough take.

If your point is that in the absence of proof, we should be optimistic, fine, that’s your philosophy. But it doesn’t mean those that wanted to be conservative in the face of unknowns are inherently wrong and/or evil. In fact, you literally can’t prove that those efforts didn’t save significant lives (bang your head against the wall on that one, if you want).

For the record, I think that masks and vaccine requirements now should be entirely removed in society with the exception of elderly care or hospitals. We should have gotten rid of it over a year ago for the military. There is more nuance to how decisions have to be made and opinions should be formed than you give credit.

This is what worries me. “We have little data but we will swing hard left, decimate the economy, and ruin careers in the name of public safety.” The government has shown what it is capable of when there is a “crisis.” The infringement of individual liberties has placed a dangerous precedent for this country.  We cannot just sit back and accept that we will just go full lockdown, liberties and the economy be damned, anytime there is a crisis because “we didn’t have SA.” Now, to be fair, other countries have had even more stringent restrictions (Germany, Japan, etc) but I expect better of the U.S.

I am! ABO: always be optimistic.

Seriously, I truly believe based on everything I’ve read that the Russian military will be utterly spent and a large and unrecoverable % of their young male population will be dead to the point where it will take them a more than a generation to recover.

Their losses in Ukraine are unfathomable by modern US standards, and our population is 2.3x bigger. Potentially up to 100K men killed already, Jesus H. Christ. They’ve managed to double our entire Vietnam War casualties in less than a year, again, with a much smaller total population.

Let alone the amount military equipment that has been destroyed there, which is tremendous. The US has had approximately 0% of our military equipment destroyed in Ukraine, and we have a much larger defense industrial base able to resupply the expendable that are being used by the Ukrainians with our assistance.

Good luck Russia, hopefully Putin falls out a window, they retreat from this ill fated expedition, and real reform & economic modernization happens.

Your last paragraph is most important; like any group of people, most Russians are nice people who desperately want to be like the West and hate their government. You see it all over Europe with Russian expats. Oh and they tend to be strongly pro capitalist as they have seen first hand what the alternative does to a country.

They should've brought back the bike test.   Nothing quite like getting an excellent immediately after smoking a few Marlboro Red 100s.

I’ll never understand why they won’t. The older you get the harder it is to run, impact exercises take a toll on the joints. A bike or swim option would make sense in a service where most people will never have to run as part of their operational job. It makes sense so it will never happen.

Grate spell check in the very last sentence. I’d expect nothing less from the POS who shoved this mandate down our throats for the last year and a half.

The same POS that embarrassed the U.S. on the international stage with our humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan and still has a job. Too busy making extremism in the military videos.

And what effect, exactly, would cutting funding to Ukraine have on that clock? How ‘bout cutting half the current DOD budget? Or all of it? The vast majority of our debt problem stems from Social Security & Medicare, neither of which are going anywhere anytime soon. Cutting aid to Ukraine in the name of stemming debt is laughable.

Dude, no one is advocating eliminating aid to Ukraine. What we are asking for is to not give them a blank check, maybe an audit/accountability like any other major expenditure. Let’s not forget the corruption problems in Ukraine throughout recent history.  Also let’s not forget NATO…Britain and Germany have made several contributions but many nations are just strap hanging.

We’ve provided the vast majority of direct mil aid, the EU has provided more financial aid. Individual EU/NATO countries have made additional contributions.

All well worth it, I’m perfectly happy let the Russian armed forces crash against the hard rocks of Ukraine for as long as those idiots want to do so!

We absolutely should help Ukraine along with assure NATO and defend the Eastern Flank. Perhaps many are questioning the notion of sending blank checks to Ukraine (with no audit mechanism) indefinitely without a larger overarching strategy?

Well, in AMC dudes are still deploying, only it's Ramstein and DJ now (and yes, sadly...the 'deid still...sigh).  Africa, PACOM and exercises keep the mobility bubbas just as busy as they were, just in different locations.  I know some of our young IP/WO community still, and as a single ray off sunshine compared to ClearedHot's report card on AFSOC, the up and coming mobility community is ready for the future fights (both dirty and conventional), at least at the squadron/group level.  Innovation and initiative are high in those kids.

Absolutely, AMC’s culture has really changed recently, largely thanks to Mini. Young cats are in the vault more than ever and excited about planning and executing challenging profiles and exercises. Thank god because INDOPACOM presents a logistical challenge like no other, EUCOM would be no cake walk either. There are still your AMC careerists and your toxic old hats who scoff at anything more challenging than SKE VIS PRO..but I’m really impressed and optimistic with the way the community is headed.

17 years of my USAF experience was during GWOT.  What's it like now in the squadrons with no more war to fight?  I remember deployments prior to 9-11 and they were mostly for OSW and ONW.  Now that we (I guess you guys, I'm retired) don't fly combat sorties everyday the young guys are probably pretty bored.  Lol.

We still deploy to CENTCOM, because that command gets whatever it wants regardless of OPSTEMPO, my old Sq is doing training exercises and Dubai Airshows. Wouldn’t call Dubai highlife “bored,” but makes you think if resources could be used wiser.

Historically Hispanics have favored the democrat party. But you make a good point; the Hispanic community in this country is generally hard working, family oriented, and religious. Hardly the pillars of the modern woke left.

IMO this demonstrates the hidden racism of the modern far left. They simply assume that due to historical trends and skin color, these people will continue to vote for them.

DeSantis won Miami Dade county which is traditionally both heavily Blue and Hispanic. I don’t think Democrats can count on Hispanics anymore. The days of taking for granted token minorities is over for the far left.

Can we stand back and look at this.  I'm not sitting here happy that Biden is president.  I'm also not sitting here happy that Trump was the president before Biden.  WTF is going on?  The best the conservatives could do the last election before Biden was to put the most ridiculous clown into office.  Drain the swamp.  Liked his policies that actually made it through, hated everything else about Trump.  Did he drain the swamp?  No he did not.  Put a bunch of his relatives into office - yes.  Did he fix healthcare?  No.  Immigration?  No. Lowered my taxes - yes.  So there's that.  And didn't get us into anymore "wars."  But he is a toxic unpredictable mess that is only interested in cajoling other humans to make money.  Really RNC?  That's what you had to offer?  You gave us someone who was predictably a one term president.  Thanks.

Then to react to that atrocity that was Trump we put someone up there that is a grandpa that you need to be several dates in before you intro him to your girlfriend, because....he has tendencies.  And he's very likely senile.  I don't agree with his policies, but I'm not going to knock the party for that.  He's a ed up mess who can't articulate effectively.  Not a personal attack, but he's ed up.  As was Trump.

WTF is going on here?  We have had on display for at least the last 2 election cycles some of the worst Americans that I could nominate to run the country.  There is something going on.  Why can we not get a sane, stable, predictable human being through the primaries on both sides anymore?  I think most people on this forum could.  But as a nation we don't.  Everyone I talk to that is non military thinks about the same.  They might be a democrat, they might be a conservative.  But to a man and woman they all agree that Trump and Biden were not good choices.  So why are they ending up on the general election ticket?

This is why election fraud is getting the attraction that it is enjoying.  I don't believe there is fraud enough to overturn an election.  I could be dead wrong, but I haven't seen the evidence.  So if its not election fraud, what is it?  Who is being represented in the elections?  Its not me.  At the local level, the person that is sitting in the seat makes sense to me.  Here are their credentials, here is their background, here is why they are sitting there.  Even if its a democrat, I can explain to anyone that asks how they got there.  I can't explain this at the national level.  I hang out with a truckload of conservatives.  Every one of us says Trump should never made it into office.  Always did.  How did he take our party?  And why is the RNC allowing it to continue? There is a huge WTF going on.

Thank you for making the case of having a limited government, and a constitution that limits the power of elected officials..almost like our founding fathers intended.

The RNC didn’t chose Trump, Trump chose the RNC. Trump was a reaction to years of condescending and elitist behavior from Obama and his like who only cared about costal metropolises and Chicago. Most Americans want a government that leaves them the hell alone and protects/values American ideals. Trump spoke to that crowd. But yes, time for him to go, way too toxic. A DeSantis or Haley ticket would revive the Republicans.

I cant have an abortion for convenience so I want to move to another country.

It's a lot cheaper to wear a condom.

Why is the USA so infatuated with getting abortions?   Did George Washington fight for abortions?

If I fry up an endangered sea turtle egg and put it into my breakfast burrito, I'll go to federal prison.  Most of the people fighting to remove defenseless humans from a  woman's body will be the same people lynching me for eating that burrito.   Are they too stupid to see the irony in this?

Leftists: “We should be more like Europe!”

Leftists when they learn about most European country’s abortion laws: “….”

Leftists: “We should be more like Japan, no one is allowed to own guns!”

Leftists when they learn about Japan’s strict immigration laws: “….”

The serial liar that is Joe Biden is now being called out by the Australian press and this lie is a whopper.  In a heart strings pulling story he claims to have personally awarded his uncle the Purple Heart while he was the Vice President.  Only one problem, it never happened, his uncle died NINE years before Biden was elected VP.  Standing by for "whataboutism", it's "Trump's fault" and other excuses from the left.  Of all things to lie about, what a douche canoe.

He is senile and has been showing signs of dementia. Making up false memories is one of the symptoms of dementia. While he always was, and will always be a douche, shame on his handlers for stringing and dragging him along. This is elder abuse plain and simple. He should have resigned years ago.

I agree but, more than likely, Trump will not win the GOP primary over DeSantis and will then run as a 3rd party candidate and will bring enough votes with him to ensure a Biden (or whoever) victory. Trump certainly isn’t capable of just quietly walking away.

I don’t think Republicans will just let Trump run as a 3rd Party. They will make whatever deal they would have to. That would be a real shitty situation. Another reason we should have rank/preferential voting instead of winner takes all.
