Not sure I really care. I'm not a UK or German citizen and their fascist speech practices, which have been known to send people for prison for shit as stupid as saying Angela Merkel is fat, is not something I really want in the US. You might think Europe is a utopia of liberal ideology but I'd encourage you to live here for a bit. Because it is overtly one of the most racist, xenophobic and misogynists' societies I've ever experienced.

Learning about the racism part rather quickly in Germany.  I also find it funny that they have stricter abortion laws across Europe than most places in America (Texas, Alabama). Good lord, anti American hippies can be so damn ignorant.

Does this even solve a problem? Are we short on copilots now? If you do single pilot ops, presumably that's an IP flying around themselves, which means the FPs aren't getting hours for upgrade, which means the problem gets worse in the future...

All fun problems the staff never thinks about. Separately there is an article going around about C-130Js experimenting with single pilot.  What problem are we trying to solve? Or is this another potential lucrative deal for a bloated defense contractor at the expense of safety and readiness?

Overwater cruise? Sure, I’ll take the Cyborg over some of the Chatty Cathy or cocky copilots…99% of the other mission sets? Nah, dumb idea. Take this to Fedex.

McConnell allegedly submitted a waiver to AMC today to fly the -46 with one pilot and one boom. This is due to them freaking out about pilot retention. This is also against the flight manual.

Unbelievable. I have reserved all judgement and opinions until now. Well, now that video evidence is out - fucking pussies. Of all places, I wouldn’t have expected LEOs in Texas to be so dickless (not applying this Texas-wide).

Might be a stretch, but I’m wondering if this might be a second hand effect of the George Floyd riots, defund the police etc.  Could be..it’s tough to find quality recruits, who would want to be a cop in the current environment? It could be that Uvalde is mostly a minority town and the cops are more afraid of an incident landing them on national news (no excuse not to go defend children).  This is what happens when we have built a generation of cowards and sissies. God help us if we ever actually go to war, and not the BS kind we had in Afghanistan.

And it was an “officer”, likely the LRS/CC that condoned this. Shoes get away with this crap because fellow officers don’t have a backbone to put the mission first and not engage in dog and pony shows…much like all the deployed Wing Kings that let their Chiefs and Diamonds run wild.

Does it really matter? Neither of them are the actual decision makers, so really it’ll just be a symbolic gesture to kick him out. It also won’t hurt the optics helping the GOP - Kamala is just as much a train wreck in public as Biden, and that’s the curveball they never saw coming when they hatched this plan to get a woman in the WH.

No it doesn’t, people get upset when you point out the obvious that the handlers behind the scenes are really running the country.

As for the train wreck and lack of competence, it seems lately that more on the left are more concerned with optics (intersectionality, social justice and identity politics) than anything…so much so that competence and meritocracy be damned.

How do CNN, MSNBC etc portray these two? Do they hide the gaffes and missteps (yes). That’s all that matters.

The continuing impact of uber liberalism is dystopian.

I thought the actions of Los Angeles County DA George Gascon was insanity, but New York clearly said hold my beer.

A career criminal comes into a store with his girlfriend and tries to buy some chips but his card has no money.  Angered he goes behind the counter and starts to beat up the owner saying he wants the chips for free.  The owner fights back and stabs the thief who ultimately dies.  George Soros funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charges the owner with murder and sets a $250,000 bail.  The thief's girlfriend stabs the owner five times and she is not charged with anything.

WTF is happening to this country?

Well at least that vermin is dead. New York is the worst.

So my post, from so long ago (previous page) in referring to another Covid variant, was not that Democrats would release the new variant, but that one would magically appear - which is the way some of these things seem to happen.  It was also driven by POTUS, who said there would be another one (22 June).  We'll just have to be prepared:

So, I'm cheap, I'll throw down $5. that a new one will appear after the elections.  Do you want me to guess the exact date (I won't be able to, but what the hay).

I’ll wager the other direction, the new variant will be hyped up by the dems to distract us from this current embarrassment.  Mandates will be reinstated, providing the dems a means to say “look guys we are protecting you against scary Covid, vote for us.” It also provides a scarecrow with regards to those on the right for the left to attack just prior to the election.  Yeah, many on the left actually do love the restrictions. It’s the left’s equiv of the George Bush era patriot act to the then neo cons.

This is what I was alluding to.  The short attention span’s interest of the American public is fading away with regards to Ukraine…in need for another distraction prior to the election (not that Ukraine was intentional, just happenstance).

The left has defined themselves over the past few decades as the crusader party. Problem is, they ran out of crusades. The causes will get progressively dumber as they chase the high they felt from fighting racism, securing gay rights, protecting the environment, etc.

How ironic. They created a better world and are miserable in it.

This concept has got me thinking lately, what is the end game? Can they ever be happy or content? Does the woke movement have an end state or is it a cultural phenomenon with no end?

For instance, our Chief of Staff is Black, two major combatant commanders are about to be led by African Americans, not to mention our SECDEF; yet I still constantly hear about African Americans being under represented at higher levels of government because..racism.  Do these folks literally need some crusade to fight, Trump, Racism, homophobia…and without it they are incomplete?

  14. In other news, Biden embarrassed himself on the international stage, can’t decipher the difference between Switzerland and Sweden, and uses an international forum for defense to talk about his opinion on Roe v Wade, to an audience that generally has stricter abortion bans than America.

Gotten much worse, just look at Chief Bass.  Still till this day, I don’t really understand what Chiefs do besides admin queep the commander doesn’t want to do.  It’s especially worse on a staff.  I know this thread is about shoe clerks but unfortunately many of the Chiefs I’ve met are perpetrators of that mentality.

First, it’s rich to say that the left should reconsider the meaning of democracy when a very unpopular, anti-democratic, opinion was passed. Almost all polls show 60-65% of Americans support Roe - nearly 2:1. Now if you wanna make some bullshit argument about how the Supreme Court represents our republic or something, go for it, but I’d recommend you look up what a democracy is supposed to be.

Also, it’s rich to say that I don’t understand something that is clearly extraordinarily contentious and not understandable. Its an opinion. It’s also rich to say that Thomas determines what is correct in the constitution. Also, Thomas’s written opinion was a majority concurrence, not a non-majority. My point, which is 100% valid, is that a real Supreme Court justice in the majority of this case is calling for some really ridiculous things in a real Supreme Court ruling. He called for re-examining whether I as a married person can use contraceptives with my wife behind closed doors.

Also, you’re lying about the dissenting opinion having no constitutional basis. They clearly used the 14th amendment, but I don’t expect you to read, as you’ve demonstrated a curious aptitude for avoiding facts over many years now.

Just to be clear, Roe was upheld precedent for the last 50 years and was reaffirmed in Casey. Just because this court changed their mind doesn’t mean that this court is correct or that the previous 7-2 ruling was incorrect. This doesn’t “prove” anything other than packing the court with conservative judges gives a different result. Congratulations.

At this point, it’s easy to see the court as a politicized, less neutral, branch of government. Time to pack it up! How about, say, 21 justices? We can probably get 12 more before congress turns over to the republicans, no more rules! Why not?

Oh, there’s precedent for there to be just 9 Supreme Court justices? Precedent doesn’t matter anymore.

Pure democracy and popularity is irrelevant here.  The Supreme Court is not a representative body - their job is to interpret the law vis a vis the constitution.  There is no constitutional mandate for abortion, therefore 10th amendment applies and this goes back to the states.  That is ALL that happened here but “the sky isn’t falling” doesn’t bode well for the mainstream media and the left who consumes the narrative…they must always be outraged by something, especially now that the lack of Trump has left a void in their lives, not to mention convenient distraction from the current administration.

Now will some states attempt to take more strict measures? Possibly, but like you said the popularity simply isn’t there to go pure fundamental when it comes to abortion.

I just want to add my .02 regarding the Ashley Bobbit part of the discussion.  I'm in law enforcement (fed - Immigration) and like many others have gone on orders to get away from work (for a variety of reasons).

As far as Bobbit and "resisting arrest", we'd have to know what the Capitol Police Use of Force rules are for deadly force.  At my agency, there's no way we could have fired at her -- to put it in very generic terms that don't spill any details regarding our UoF policies, we can only use force that is equivalent to what's being used against us or another.  If she wasn't armed, she wasn't a threat that needed to be dealt with using deadly force (i.e. firearms).  The caveat is that they (Capital Police) may have different policies for protecting members of Congress.  So, unless we know that, we're all speculating to some degree.

I'll also throw in something else about law enforcement and immigration in general.  During the Trump admin we were sending people to the SW Border for rotations to enforce US Law (Title 8 primarily).  These were involuntary TDY's, and although many weren't excited about forced TDY's, at least we doing what we're trained to do (law enforcement).  There are TDY's again under the current Admin, but these are simply to assist in processing aliens and then releasing them with a Notice to Appear (NTA) before EOIR at a later date.  They're released into interior and almost none ever show for their court date.  This is a deliberate decision by policy makers and ultimately the President himself.  None of us can understand it.  The border was quite secure until 18 months ago.  Now it's wide open.  A friend working at an airport for another immigration agency said he doesn't know why they bother processing pax or looking for bad guys.  He said if anyone really wanted to harm us (like the 9/11 hijackers), it's easier for them to just go to Mexico and cross our southern border.  At that point we wouldn't even have a record of their arrival and they'd have free reign within the country.

Belongs in the WTF thread, but hey man at least no more mean tweets right!?

I’ll stick to regular masturbation please and thank you 🍆💦 maybe a mutual with BQZip’s mom now and again for some variety.

Seriously…I’m not super woke. I’m a fairly center of mass neoliberal democrat and I spend plenty of time rolling my eyes at the true social justice warriors on the left in texts with likeminded friends. Just like a lot of run of the mill conservatives don’t love the insane rabid radicals on their side, I don’t like the left wing ones on my side either!

You may just not have a very representative circle if you really think what I say here is representative of some pronoun-pushing trans communist or whatever.

What I first started saying in this thread is that I felt that gay rights were backsliding and that there were truly anti-gay people out there who think it’s all a choice and a disgusting one at that and who once again have started openly discriminating against gay people…and was proven correct fairly quickly.

It does seem like most folks here want the forced wokeness to stop but are fine with a diverse team in the military and accepting of gay teammates, to which I say amen. 🇺🇸

How about this? I would say the points below are pretty mainstream for most of my conservative friends, I don’t speak for the extreme:

-People don’t chose to be gay

-Homosexuals are human beings and should be treated as such

-Homosexuals should receive the same rights in the eyes of the government as heterosexuals, to include the benefits of a Civil Union…to that point I don’t think government should be in the business of marriage, period.

-Churches should never be forced to marry homosexuals.  To your earlier point on Catholics, gays would be welcome in any Catholic Church, it’s only their lifestyle that wouldn’t be approved or validated - I’ll bet you any money on that.

-Homosexuals are welcome in the military, I couldn’t care less who you bang. Bring your same sex spouse to work events, you should not be treated any different because of your sexual preferences.

-Have your pride parades off base, don’t care, it does not belong in the military and Nellis AFB should not be having drag shows or drag queen reading hours to kids. In fact, just leave kids out of this discussion until they are old enough.  All they need to know is treat everyone with respect.

-Not everyone is going to approve of your lifestyle, that does not give you the right to bully, intimidate or cancel.  The gays who are still bullying the Christian bakers are the worst of people.

-There are two genders, you cannot change genders.  That’s basic science. Transgenders are still people and should be treated as such, those with gender dysphoria should seek mental help, and with no negative stigma just like any other disease.

-No, the military shouldn’t have to pay for gender hormone treatment or transition surgery.  I as a commander have better things to do than teach transgender awareness training.

-BL, whether you are gay or straight, don’t be an asshole, and we can get a long just fine.

  21. This reminds me of the pilot only track AMC experimented with a few years ago.  Came with a mandatory ADSC taking you to 20 years of service.  1 applicant…one! It is clear to me the Air Force isn’t nor has ever been serious about the pilot retention crisis. “Good enough” and optics seems to drive most staffs these days.  The Chinese are laughing at us, the Russians would be too if they weren’t so inept at actually waging conventional war.
