The cool thing about this path (besides the fact that Robin Olds would respect you) is that you can smoke cigarettes and get fucked up again in public.  Its like being in UPT but you have wings, a paycheck and the street cred to act like a bad ass.  Congrats man!

P.S.  The bar chicks' tits are a little saggier than back in the UPT days and they're probably living in the trailer park by the bar, lol but who cares at this point in life.  You're a fucking pilot!

Maybe at the bars you hang out at Biff…never had that saggy trailer park problem once I left the Deep South. Although the metropolitan chicks come with their own issues. Glad I’m married now and don’t have to deal with the me too movement.

But yes…nothing wrong with being a gray beard iron major. Just make sure you’re square with that down the road and don’t have regrets.

I aways wondered what became of ol’ Nate. At the time, I never pictured he’d go back and blame the system. When we sent him off to EC-130s, we figured a crew plane was the way to go. I think its hard to blame the system when you really struggled with the T-38 by yourself in the front seat.

Honestly, I was really mad to read an article like that. I flew with a lot of students. None tried to kill me like the way this kid almost did. Sure, blame the system I guess.  I’m glad he did well in an airplane that goes a fraction of the speed of that trainer.

If that story about the check pilot is even remotely true, god help us. If I knew at the time I would have filled an IG complaint myself, against him.  A few black students came through while I was there. Some did great. Some, not so much. The one kid we did (try) to washout was a different kid (read white kid). I think he was recycled to preds or something. Nate was just going through the prog check system like a few kids do. I guess he’ll never see it that way.

Now I’m a racist as well as an ahole.

Oh Nate, he landed a USAFA glider off the airfield, well off the airfield back at the Zoo. Flying has never been his forte, politicking and brown nosing, very much so.

He got ENJJPT because of his GPA, you know because a good GPA correlates to flying fighters or something..

He’s going places though, he has taken full advantage of the intangible opportunities presented to him. Plays the race card like no other.

My main suggestion would be getting rid of the pet to a family member and enjoying Europe. That an option? Not trying to be a smart ass but Europe is great when you can just blast off for the weekend and see something cool without something tying you down.

We had zero trouble finding pet sitters or kennels for travel. Germany is one of the most pet friendly countries.

Lufthansa was very good. Flight attendants even gave us 3 hour updates on how they were doing. Zero issues.

Thanks for the information everyone.  Your replies constitute more mentorship than I've received in real life over the last four years, which I suppose is telling in and of itself.  I'll continue controlling the the stuff I can control, remaining an asset to leadership and the young bucks, and making sure I am prepared for whatever big blue decides to do with me.

What’s your timing to IP qual? If you’re worried about making 0-5, this last board the trend I saw for most who didn’t make it is no school nor staff (with just a P). If you are going to make IP soon I’d consider biting the bullet and volunteering for a staff assignment to move next summer and then meet your board following year. If you are confident about getting a DP at your wing then I’d just stay put so you can keep flying. Bottom line, you need to sit your leadership down and make them give you feedback and what their plan for you is.

Probably had nothing to do with the guy being a douche. It’s way easier to say “nobody likes me because everyone is racist.”  Sad part is we’re all going to have to sit through more briefings because people are stupid enough to guzzle down this river of horseshit.

Oldie, but can verify that the dude has always been an arrogant, narcissistic, self serving, attention seeking douchebag that will eff over his peers in a heartbeat to get ahead. Seems like he went to Harvard so now he’s someone else’s problem until he gets picked up for a USD position and joins the ranks of other affirmative action hires that have no business touching anything in our military’s decision making problem.

    Some epic idiocy/trolling here.

But I'll bite, because this is the Internet!

--You claim "we" should negotiate to give up some of Ukraine.  Do you think maybe the Ukrainians should decide whether or not they want THEIR country?  They seem pretty willing to fight for it.

--You seem to think the nation that took massive casualties, is resorting to Iranian and North Korean weapons, has a ton of sanctions, had their most effective PMC mutiny, and is at a defensive stalemate on the battlefield is stronger now?  😂

You can debate how much money/arms the US should provide.  That's valid.  What you are doing is a mockery of intelligent questioning.

After the Billions of Dollars we invested in their counter offensive !? You are damn right we get a vote on the means to the outcome be it negotiations or other tools of foreign policy.

Shit... cover blown.... Nah fr tho I'm just an aviation enthusiast and found this forum and liked the community. Then I browsed a little bit and noticed the opinions kind of match this video I remember seeing.😅.

Sorry. I should have made my first post be a "what are my chances? I haven't taken the AFOQT yet." Like another clueless person on here

    And who are the bobs?

You tell me bob, must have a lot of free time in the puzzle palace these days

So lets get back to the complete douche nozzle occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The National Archives which went to great lengths punish the Orange man sat on a FOIA request for 14 months since admitting they have nearly 5400 emails then Vice President sent using multiple pseudonym accounts (Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters and JRB Ware), on government servers.  14 months after acknowledging they have the emails they have yet to produce a single email in violation of federal law.

Hahah nothing to see here, there is no hope for equitable justice between the two sides of the spectrum. Best we can hope for is someone not named Trump humiliate him during the general election.

And no one’s sure what a NAF does.

ADCON. NAF/CCs allegedly supervise wing kings while MAJCOM/CCs focus on the enterprise. When some MAJCOMs have 10+ wings - it is also a span of control issue. Much like the army has divisions between Brigades and Corps. However, in the army the Division provides operational and tactical guidance to brigades while in the Air Force NAFs are mostly administrative.

Anyone have experience going from AMC to ACC heavies (RC, EC, etc)?

I haven’t met a single ACC heavy pilot who doesn’t hate their job. It’s usually those dudes fighting to get to AMC. Let’s see, in pretty much every ACC heavy platform you as a pilot are not in charge of the mission (ref tinker thread), you are literally the red headed stepchild of ACC, and as mentioned there is no reward outside of the cockpit.

If I was king for a day I would put most ISR platforms (to include E-3s, E-8s) in their own MAJCOM. AFSOC would still keep some MQ-9s, GCCs would still get allocated their sorties, but you have a whole world dedicated to airborne ISR and C2.

  11. If Gunships come from the T-1 track why couldn’t Buffs? It’s not like you learn weapons employment in the 38. Is the 38 really going to make or break an inbound Buff pilot? Honestly curious!

  12. Every candidate at his level has and will push whatever flavor the current administration touts (right now: woke); so all else equal, I’d rather have a relatively apolitical and quiet Air Force fighter pilot at the helm that will advocate for air power than another indecisive and incompetent Mark Milley.

    It's not over.

Yesterday, the Joe Biden Justice Department petitioned the Supreme Court to hear its case and reinstate its authority to mandate COVID vaccines (and future vaccines) for Federal employees.

Pfeizer and Moderna came short on their 3rd quarter revenue report it seems.

This guy is one of my favorite Youtubers. If only all journalists were as thoughtful and unbiased. He simply lets people tell their stories and doesn't tell you what to think about it.

This is obviously a deliberate effort on the part of our government to allow this invasion. Is it really just to boost the Democratic voter rolls as some suggest? Are we just importing cheap unskilled labor? European nations are proactively importing migrants. This is some sort of social engineering.

100%, it’s also a classic bait and switch  tactic for the left. Speak out against it and you’re obviously a xenophobic anti immigration MAGA bigot!

  15. Show up at the right place and on time everyday, show up with a good attitude, be humble and learn from your mistakes.

If you do that you are 90% there.

Study, ask questions, strive to be the best at whatever job you’ve been given. If that means making sure the coffee and popcorn are fresh, so be it.

Help your peers, put them before yourself. Chances are you’ll be working with them 10-15 years down the road.

Finally, enjoy the lack of responsibility and being a young wingman or copilot. Bring an LT was simpler times and I’d kill to go do it again!

And to think the people that botched Afghanistan and excoriated here are the very same decision makers in the current conflict.

No consequences, no accountability. What could go wrong?

Hopefully not for long, hopefully for only 18 more months! That aside, the rot, corruption, and incompetence in our federal government transcends political parties.
