Also, depending on when they roll out the new promotion system, you might be IPZ for four more looks.

JRoux always seemed like a good dude from what I’ve seen. Bummer to see.

Any specifics on why he was fired?

I don’t mind having a few months of O-4 in the high-3 pay calculation but still wish to retire in the rank I earned.
Why? Are you planning on putting rank on your OEF/OIF veteran hat? Silver Oak Leaf in your front license plate holder?

Depends on how it’s written next year. In 2014 I signed the bonus for 5 years. In 2015 I was allowed to renegotiate to 20 YAS.
IIRC, the “renegotiations” I was offered the last two years required a 3 year minimum extension (I already took it to 20), and only affected the $ amount for the tacked on years.

Declining continuation also results in no involuntary sep pay, because it’s a voluntary separation. You only get isp if you’re not offered continuation, if your RIFed, or half ISP for a fitness discharge (there might be other conditions as well).

I think he means they’ll 7 day opt...

I dunno. 11Rs have a good shot actually. They are 120% right now and AFPC has no intention of letting them x train.
They don’t have to let them x train to send them to UPT, which is still undermanned.

Heard an interesting pure rumor from leadership. There may be a VSP this fall for FGO types. Reasoning too many FGO’s.
I doubt there will be a VSP for pilots. Maybe other career fields, but the bonus take rate has been consistently lower than their stated goal.

I wonder if promotion boards will be instructed to disregard strats under the old system.

Just coming on completing my 6yr 18X commitment. I'm AGR ANG. I'm thinking of signing 12 year 35k bonus because I plan on doing 20yr. Does 18X qualify for the 100k up front for 12 year? Would it be smarter to just sign 8 year?
Different bonus program for ANG than posted above

Gotta love that the guys that have the shortest commitment after winging and are the easiest/cheapest to replace end up with the best bonus option, while the Air Force shits on the RW guys.
An 18u looking to retire at 20 can take the 12 year bonus after their six year commitment.

That’s missing tiers 1-3, which should include the initial eligibles.

I think this is just going to result in “MFRs documenting verbal counseling” becoming the new “desk LOC.” If a guy screws up, and doesn’t get his act together, the CC can make the decision to write it up officially at that point.

anyone that was a non-select on the last O5 board do that briefing with AFPC?
Yes, did mine in October or November. They compare your records to the bottom 10 above the cut line. Biggest takeaway was having Definitely Promote on your push line if you don’t have the box checked. Strats, of course, matter. I didn’t have any FGO awards, but he said that was offset by the CGO awards I had. SDE push lines on OPRs help. Jobs above the Wing level help. Basically all things that it’s probably too late to improve on.

Anyone else annoyed by their constant advertising and sponsorship of halftime during football games? I think that they could come up with a better way to spend advertising dollars, given the vast majority of NFL viewers aren’t eligible to sign up.

Do you guys think a wrong duty title would be enough to get on the supplemental?

FWIW, I took the bonus to 20 then got passed over. I then tried palace chasing before I was twice passed over as I wasn’t sure if I would be offered continuation and was denied palace chase due to low manning in my career field. I could be wrong but you may still be able to deny continuation and get out. I’d definitely verify that with AFPC if you end up getting passed over twice but if you do nothing the continuation paperwork should spell out everything. That was 2 years ago so YMMV depending on your MDS manning, etc.
Yeah, the issue is with the new promotion system. This was my first of five IPZ looks. I won’t be APZ until I’m at 18+ years.

Anyone know if it’s possible to Palace Chase a bonus commitment? I took the bonus expecting to either make it or be passed over IPZ and 1APZ and be a free agent, but with the new system I guess I have four more IPZ “No’s” awaiting me.

Public release is 6 Oct. Notifications will be before then, but I believe at CC discretion.

Looks legit. Wonder why they pulled it down. Unrelated, I'm nervous.
It’s not down. Go on mypers, change the search criteria to any and search 49117.

Don’t the OSBs only say IDE/SDE complete now? No mention of in residence or correspondence.
Not sure about masters degrees since those are masked till O-6 anyways.
In-res will have a Training Report so the board still knows.

Question for the masses: have an individual that has an award but no accompanying citation (nobody can find it). Member up for promotion soon. Anyone run into this? Recommendations?
I’ve had two from CENTCOM that I had physical copies of and had to get uploaded manually by FSS, but I’m guessing that’s not the case for your guy.

That would also make sense, but wasn't how I understood the contract. Either way, I've got a finance ticket in so I can confirm.
Lump sum option pays the full amount, then a reduced amount each year for the length of the contract. I took an 8-year at 30k with 100k lump. It worked out to 100k the first year, then 20k a year for the next 7.

Timeframe for T-1 retirement
in General Discussion
Posted
Does anyone have any new info on when they expect to retire the T-1? Most recent article I found said 2023-2025, but I’m wondering if anyone in AETC land has better gouge.
