  1. So apparently it's a funding issue. I just confirmed with my Reserve LNO. I was directed to reach out to the individual who is in charge of the TDART program so I will report back when he responds.
  2. This is the first I heard about the TDART hiring freeze. Does the freeze only apply to applicants or for everyone who are currently in the pipeline? I am currently finishing up the T-1s right now and was counting heavily on TDART to provide stable income for my family once I get to my unit...
  3. Hi All, I am interested in joining the 327th and have several questions. 1. What is it like to join a reserve unit that doesn’t have their own tails and attached to an active duty unit? 2. What’s their op tempo like? 3. Recommendations on where to live in Little Rock. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The A3RB submitted an amendment back in 2017 to count UPT hours towards the 300 hour min for GS-11. So hopefully, the amendment gets approved so that TDART folks can start at GS-11. I’m in the same boat except I was a non-rated O-3 in a sister service. Your reserve LNO should have more info regarding this topic. Congrats on completing UPT.
  5. I’m still slated to PCS next week and start UPT on 7 July. If you have a gap between now and UPT, I’d highly recommend completing SERE. That SERE TLN will give you BIT/authorized delay orders between SERE and UPT which equals pay.
  6. When are you headed to UPT and which base? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Greetings all, Does anyone have any info regarding Banzai Flight at Vance? I was recently informed that I'll be in Banzai Flight. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
  8. If you’re a sponsored applicant, you have nothing to worry about. As long as you have your package in order and have no major waivers, you’re in the clear. Good luck!
  9. Did you apply as a sponsored or unsponsored applicant ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I agree. 18 - 24 months sounds about right. Mine is 14 months from hire to UPT (AFRC) but I’m an inter-service transfer guy with a PPL so I got to skip OTS and IFT. There’s been times when I had to nudge my recruiter and my chain of command to get stuff done so don’t be hesitant to make the phone call. Ultimately, it’s your career, and no one else cares as much as you do.

  12. Is anyone going to Vance in June? Apparently, I’m going to SERE/water survival first in April then off to UPT in June.
  13. Reviving the thread. Does anyone have any status on this "ART to AGR" transition? I would really love to jump straight into an AGR position following UPT instead of doing TDART. The pay difference is significant between the two, especially coming off active duty as an O-3 with 8 years. Thanks!
  14. Well said, thanks for the reply. I think the delay will only affect the folks who are coming off active duty. If you are a civilian applicant, I’m sure you can work for your employer until you begin your training pipeline (OTS, IFT, UPT, or FTU). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. For the AFR folks, the UPT pipeline is currently backed up and the 340th is still trying get seats for folks who were selected early this year. I'm not sure how long it will take for the UPT pipeline to unclog but I'd highly recommend saving at least 5 months of your pay to sustain yourself and your family if you're coming off of active duty. I am slated to EAS in late Jan 2020 and got a tentative UPT date of 23 June. However, nothing is official until I in process with the 340th and receive the orders.
  16. I'm not sure if your recruiter would start the scrolling process as an unsponsored applicant. You should definitely ask your recruiter. Yes, you will still receive your DD214 as an inter service transfer guy upon separation from AD. If you already have served your initial 8 year commitment in the Navy, then you may cross over directly to AFR without having to deal with the Navy IRR, all you'll need is the DD368 from the AD Navy. If you still have the 8 year commitment left then you will have to go through the Navy IRR which will require you to get another DD368. Shoot me a message if you have any questions. I recently went through the inter service transfer process as an AD Marine (dark side) to AFR myself. I am just waiting to EAS from the Corps and to be gained by the 340th.
  17. Has any recent UPT selectees for AFRC gotten a UPT date? I was picked up on the June board and am still waiting..
  18. I think we all are in the same boat. I’m a Reserve applicant and the 340th still hasn’t received the dates from the Big Blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the update. I'm not going to lie, I have already put on my Air Force hat (mentally) which is a dangerous thing to do as an active duty Marine....
  20. All good. We are all in this together and can learn from each other. With that said, you have the option to instruct at UPT as a reservist (status may vary) after you gain some experience at your unit. The type of aircraft you get to instruct in (T-6, T-1, T-38) depends on your qualifications and background. https://www.340ftg.afrc.af.mil/AboutUs/Join.apsx/
  21. 340th FTG = 340th Flying Training Group. They manage the UFT pipeline for all the reserve candidates. Nice, which branch are you in? Although I'm glad that we don't have to attend OTS, I'm curious to see how the AF OTS is compared to the Marine Corps OCS. Do you already have a separation date from your current branch? Nov 1st is my separation date but I may have to push it back so that I can minimize the gap of transition period.
  22. iRobot, That'll be great if you could follow up. Thanks!
  23. For all the reserve folks, has anyone received a UPT date recently from 340th? How long does it take to get a UPT date assuming you meet all the requirements (AFRC board, FC1, scroll)?
  24. According to the board manager, the AFRC is having an unsponsored board along with sponsored board until further notice. I personally asked the same question to my recruiter back in May and was told that the next unsponsored board was going to be in Sep which was false. So to answer your question, Sep is the next unsponsored board if you didn’t make the July board. Let me know if you need help with anything. Good luck.
  25. Hey Viper, Your test scores, GPA, and flight hours look fairly similar to mine when I applied to heavy Reserve units. It’s really common for units, both ANG and Reserve, to offer nav slots to applicants who do not have their PPL. When I did my interview, I came across a few applicants who originally submitted a package for pilot interviewing for nav due to low flight hours and no PPL. So I think you’re on the right path by pursuing your PPL and raising hours at the same time. I had about 110hrs with a PPL at big 30 (current age limit for UPT is 33) when was hired. Applying for unsponsored slots is definitely an option, however keep in mind that your sponsorship status is one of the selection criteria along with many other factors (GPA, flight hours, AFOQT, PCSM, leadership, etc.) for the AFRC board. Unlike sponsored applicants, not all unsponsored applicants get selected on the AFRC board. Feel free to PM me if you need any help with the Reserve process, interview pointers, or what have you. I recently went through the process so my knowledge on this topic is fairly fresh.
