Dude, no one joined the Air Force to make bank. You've apparently got a great deal going, and I'm actually a bit jealous. I've seen more than a few folks who would be flag O's get out, and I've always been astonished at the reasons why. Because not one of them is anything but a bulletproof argument. I honestly believe each of them to be a better man than I. Now, if somewhere deep down you need to justify to everyone else why you are getting out, then I get it. But, for those of us staying in who have no ulterior motive, it serves no purpose. We are willing to stay in because this is where we want to be. 365's are no more fun for us than for you. AFPC is not my bogeyman, even though not once have I gotten a base even on my list of preferences. Airlines pay more. Got it. So does being a decent investment broker. If pay was all we (yourself included) cared about, many, many of us could have been lawyers or surgeons. You're bordering on belittling anyone who chooses to stay til 20, and I think your cynicism is getting the best of you. FWIW, I think the ARP (ACP?) On the surface, that would work. Though, other countries tend to get a bit testi about the US conducting controversial missions from their soil. More so for those big scary drone assassins. It's possible, but it would take more than a bit of political effort to accomplish. Something the leadership has not been falling over themselves to do. Especially if its only to benefit the seat meat crews.

Not once, over multiple deployments in a few different "shooter" MWS's have I seen the media give straight facts with objective analysis and not inject some level of bias into the story. Had a SQ/CC once have a full day completely shadowed by a reporter, from breakfast to putting the kids to sleep. Fly6584 is correct. However, be cautious with changing your core. AFPC seems to randomly change them without your explicit permission or knowledge. Could be bad JuJu if you're not actively monitoring it. Bought me a second ALFA in a row when my original MWS porch couldn't even see me in their rolls. Who needs more proof of this than anyone with even a cursory mission plan into Syria? You think we didn't go simply because of the politics? We haven't had a good shootin' war in a few, and our best toys simply don't have the mass capability that we used to. How much of this greatness has been built on the foundations of the Cold War, bolstered by 9/11, then chipped away at over the last 6 years? For all that those in now, or currently retired have done, it sickens me that the federal government has backpedaled on the most basic of promises given to career military men and women. Congressman, I beg of you to take an honest look at how the greater political winds for indiscriminate cuts have forced such a poor target. Absolutist politics have no place in the american system. From all that we hold dear, the way to break a stalemate is not by including items each side detests, but by including positive steps forward with mutual motivation. Why must those who have arguably given the most for this country be forced to swallow the poison pills of adversarial budget building? We've been fighting this war for all (or significant portions of) our careers. We are tired, but not exhausted. Those with ability will find other avenues to secure their retirements, which will only serve to exacerbate the chasm between the civilian and military world.

Usually you have to download some software from AF Portal first, then install it on your computer. Generally, that means burning as disc from work. Just search Outlook Web Access on the Portal. Annoying to get started, but saves having to bring a .gov laptop on TDY. *Most importantly: Don't let anyone know you have home email access! Just use it so you don't get blindsided on Monday mornings. Better to feign ignorance than to explain to the boss why your family weekend was more important than checking OWA.

I heard a similar story from MQ-9s: 1x worthless shitbag shows up from a prior AMC asset. Proceeds to make a mockery of anything tactical, to include taking some very questionable shots. How reliable is this? I'm a select, but only got to my new base in Aug of last year. Even though I was nominated this time (1st look), I'll only have 23-24 months (depending on how you count) on station by the time I'd leave.
