  1. Student Success Initiative; another round was just released additionally ERAU Excellence Awards and as aways, YMMV check with your ERAU advisor for details.
  2. Sounds like a great "administrative punishment" for all involved. Being sure to put the "NCOs" upfront to answer those questions. The SEALS and DELTA operators can handle this situation in their own unique ways I'm sure. That should fix the problem permanently.
  3. Amended to read: "additionally penalties include reduction to E Zero, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, 30 days TCN escort duty, 10 days added to current tour, 50 yd. penalty & loss of down on next play. Harsher penalties to be considered if question asker is aircraft maintenance and really should know better than to even worry about such minor crap when there are much bigger fish to fry"
  4. Giant 2 on that one... Stupid asses...

    Shoe Clerk Vol 3

Shoe standard. Meanwhile over in the Maintenance Complex some poor (now divorced) crew chief/weapons loader is deploying for the 7,000th time. After just getting back from his 3rd Korea short tour in 8 years. Been there, seen it happen...
  6. No problem, how bout we kick em' into a festering cesspool while we're at it. Just WTF is wrong with you? Even if servicemembers/families choose Option 2, any remains deserve better than to go in the dumpster with yesterday's tuna sandwich and used kitty littler. To the fallen RIP Brothers/Sisters
  7. I have that jacket. It's warm enough, but yes, the back is two piece and the sleeves could be just a shad longer. But then again I can't bitch too much, only paid $60 at thrift store for a mint condition leather jacket that was $250 brand new.
  8. Agree 100% with that statement. I also wore my Maintenance badge (and missileman bagde, a gift from my 1980s SAC days) with pride. In my 24 yrs every maintainer I knew from Airman Newguy to the SNCOs there wasn't one that wasn't mission focused. Heck, we barley had enough time to get the jets FMC and maintain the 8 hr fix rate let alone memorize songs and creeds. We didn't have time for that stuff.
  9. Shack! And to the guy who made the FPU comments; I agree 100%, FPU should be fvcking mandatory for all noobs at their first base on both the E and O side. Yes, I have taken the class (about 2 yrs ago) and wish someone would have passed that knowledge to me back in 1981. Sure we would have had to use whale oil lamps to light the classroom but the info would have been great to have.
  10. Good on the photo team, MiG-28... No one's been that close before!
  11. Bold item # 1: 100% true in MX world. I/We had/have enough bullsh*t to put up with as it was/is without trying to enforce silly sh*t that makes no sense what so ever. Change for change's sake only, give me a fvcking break. Bold item # 2: Again 100% correct. Will someone in charge please tell the shoes that life isn't fair, everyone's NOT a warrior and if they don't like things like "Home of the fighter pilot" on the front gate, morale patches and friday shirts because its "not fair" then too fvcking bad!
  12. HA HA HA! That's fvcking awesome! EDIT: Because I still can't swear. Damn it!
  13. No joke and we're about 12 days from the start of OSH. Nothing like 12 billion VFR airplanes with pilots of every level of expierence and capibility jammed into one small space. Must be an ATC/airspace deconflicting nightmare. But I'd still go in a second given the chance.
  14. Not just battery life, ala Jack Bauer; but where the fork were they going for SIXTEEN hours on a forking train? And just how slow was the train going? Good golly!
  15. Remember these guys are decendents of the Vikings (the REAL ones, NOT the ones in Minnesota) those guys set the standard for bada$$.
  16. The ORI: Pack up your sh*t, get out of town, kill bad guys, go home. I remember right after Gulf War I Langley was gonna get hit with a fly-away ORI. The wing asked TAC to reconsider seeing how they just did it for real, and that should count for that year's ORI. I was at Nellis at the time so I don't know how that ever worked out for them. Can any old guys weigh in on this? On another note, they had Seemore get home from the Storm and go to Red Flag shortly thereafter. OK sucks to go TDY after being gone so long but hey, it's Vegas! Great idea until they ended up basing their jets out of indian Springs and living in the forking crappy 1950s era run down barracks. So this really isn't anything new. EDIT: For spelling.
  17. Why am I not surprised? I was at Eddies and caught (chalked, de-armed, etc...) the first AF owned F-15E to go to the OT&E team (number 8 off the production line) as it came in (STS) factory fresh from St Louis. Yes, we're talking 1989ish. Nobody outside the F-15E/McDonnell Test Force gave a sh*t. I guess it was because the front page story in the base newspaper that week was CMSgt Snuffy's retirement ceremony after serving 30 years at the only base he was ever stationed at... Edwards. On the other hand, the shoe's would have just turned it into a damn circus sideshow. So I guess it was just as well. Good luck F-35 team!
  18. A... M... F... To the Teams and the 160th bros and all those who made this possible!
  19. OK... what about a already retired SNCO 4 weeks out from finishing up a Masters Degree? (And no, not on-line either)
