Don't most boards tell you to wear blues when you interview? I can't see anyone in ops ever asking "why are you wearing ABUs" if you stop in. It would sound sort of ridiculous even if what they're asking is "why are you wearing them if you're here and thus, off duty."

it's probably worth noting that, if somthing doesn't work with this unit, whatever it is, if you turn down an offer for OTS, that's it, you can't apply again.

I was recently selected to commision via OTS. Since I won't be done college until October (at 29 y/o, better late than never) I won't be able to meet with the board for ENJJPT in Sept. Is there any other method through which one would enter the program, or is it solely through this board?

1. you shouldn't have to do much. volunteer and be a good performer at work. 2. as many as you like. just verify there are pilot slots when you submit. you should be able to separate early via form 368 (?) though i'm a traditional and a technician so my process may be different than yours. \ 3. you package looks good. get your PPL maybe, though I was just selected with the same amount of hours as you for AD UPT.

1. no, of some of them have gotten burned by people in that situtation, so they may be leary. alot of times, those exceptions are made only for unit members who are interviewing. 2. call ops desks. getting those numbers is truly the grand adventure. 3. i think only for a fulltime technician/AGR jobs, which as you probably know, are almost never taking off the street hires.

I always put a cover letter but stopped adding a letter of introduction on the advice of a friend who got picked up, albeit by our unit. not active duty, full time guard dude. and hell yes on the attitude. that was the other thing that help me up, been trying to meet that application requirements to a to a T: see: letter no asked for = letter no sent. bad call can do. i may have made a mistake when i selected to be considered for a CSO slot for the active duty board, rendering all of the effort meaningless if i get selected. if i get picked up for it, i'm going to lean into and be the best nav i can, even if it's not where i want to be. going to head out to Michigan to meet the 107th, even though i got turned down for the board. the a-10 community is something else, it's a ton of fun and has gouge for days. EDIT: got hired by AD, none of this matters

ahh, no...haha i got three nopes for interviews, including one i rushed. should have been more clear. don't want to clog up this thread but the feedback is the same "you're not done your bachlor's, you're old, no ppl, you live too far" ad board coming up, units i really like the locals and airframes coming too. head is down, movement is forward. question: would a letter of introduction, one were i can possibly mitigate potential concerns with my package, be inappropriate?

if my boot camp experence taught me anything it's that the less inspectable items you have the better, you can always grab another set of ABUs once you're done. that being said, maybe the rotation of dirty to clean would benifit from a third pair. i honestly even remember how many uniforms sets is was originally issued. if you guys can already buy uniform items, start burning strings off...

I just rushed along with a guy who had an unsponsored slot. the impression I got from him was if he didn't get picked up "at some point" he would be assigned a unit. worth nothing that he had an actual UPT date.
