  1. No apologies necessary. There are major differences in the syllabuses between UPT and ENJJPT, but history shows that it doesn't necessarily create a superior product regardless of the ENJJPT talking points. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  2. Agreed. His first post got under my skin sts but after a while I appreciated his caricature of true-blue AF leadership. I am curious at what level he actually is... GO, WG/CC/CV or just a Major bored sitting on staff... Edit: auto-curreckt Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  3. Please tell me this is a serious question and you aren't just trying to be a douche. We already have our quota in the Air Force. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  4. It's only a matter of time before the service does something to "screw" someone over, even O-6s.. A wise Commander once told me, "you can only ask for people to chose either their family or the Air Force so many times before the Air Force loses" Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  5. Meh, I disagree nsplayer. I enjoyed the show while it lasted. More importantly, I will tell anyone who listens with what is wrong with the Air Force. Some I have solutions for and for others I am at a loss on how to fix. Actually Chang, the persona that you portrayed here, although completely overdone, are the sum total of the sentiments that are causing people to head for the door. What causes disappointment? Unrealized expectations. I think you have to start there. The last 10 or so years have been really tough on the CGOs. We came into the AF after 9-11 being told that the #1 priority of the AF is lethality, yet we are held to a completely different standard of measurement. I was an '08 commissionee from ROTC and worked my butt off to get to UPT, 38s and hopefully to a fighter, just to be told that there was no where for us to go except RPAs and AMC. Big disappointment, but whatever, I press on. Get to my AMC unit and less than a year later I am writing a RRF for my 1st of 2 RIF boards. Meanwhile my fighter brethren (the 30 or so they created in my whole year group) were now considered undermanned. On my 4th deployment, my CC calls me to tell me that he has to get me on the next VML otherwise an RPA may be non-vold must-fill from AFPC. I end up going to T-6 UPT, my dream job at the time. While I am in PIT I face the #2 RIF/VSP of my career, while my 11F brothers (whoever is left) are now critically manned. I get sat down by my T-6 SQ/CC and told that although my record is outstanding, my career field (11M) is 175% manned and I haven't even completed PIT yet, so prepare for the worst/hope for the best. Also, we are cutting for the next 5 years. I go out and get my dream job, and apply for Palace Chase only to be denied because now even though my career field is still overmanned, the AF as a whole is short on pilots. Me, I still keep kicking @ss, pulling down #1 Sq/OG strats and moving my way up in the Sq. Get tasked with a 6 month non-flying deployment to some $hithole to be underemployed and a job that would have actually been better to have been CONUS doing (timezone differences). Somewhere in there my family (wife+kids) made up their mind that we were done getting jerked around, so I have been making my way to the door ever since. After 10 years of stellar service, 5 deployments, missing years of my kids lives, I get called a quitter and told that I have no future in my Sq. I could write a lot more, but I just don't care to relive it anymore. I hate the fact that the AF made me fall out of love with something that I fought so hard to be apart of. I have seen this organization change in just the 10 years I've been in and it is unrecognizable. I sincerely want the AF to get better and be better, so let me know if you have any questions. 6. That was like some epic level trolling. He carried it on for well over a year. Bravo Chang! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  7. Thousands of hours... 20 hour work-week... hmmm... so they started his F up like 30 years ago? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  8. So 19 people at a time and 1095 day flying deployments to other CONUS bases. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  9. Exactly! Since we all know that the FAC was merely a force shaping tool to begin with and had absolutely nothing to do with making our Air Force "fit to fight" lol. It's time to force shape that shop and put those cats to work on filing my travel voucher and doing my adls training for me. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

The last time they did this, it seemed to go pretty well for the Lt Col we hired back to AD. He had done a good deal of time in the ANG before he came back to AD and ended up getting his 20 year retirement with fairly little pain. Not to say that this time it wouldn't be different. 12. I had a 99 pcsm and a good GPA. Gotta love business school and RateMyProfessors.com. I was also the dumbest guy in my class and finished with the lowest academic ranking out of freaking everyone. Most days I had no clue what my classmates were talking about since they were all nuclear rocket surgeons from the Academy. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  13. I thought pilots were the dirtiest minds in the AF... then I flew a bunch of nurses to Hickam... I got some stories... Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  14. Finished Middle Third of T-6s. Finished #1 in T-38s. Had I not been at ENJJPT I would not have even gotten a T-38. Our #1 T-6 guy finished bottom third of T-38s and almost got a UAV. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  15. Not really. Pretty much every FAIP ever... zing! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  16. It's all good. The toxicity is everywhere so I shouldn't take anything for granted. Someone, somewhere is thinking how to best screw people over "for the needs of the Air Force". Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  17. I would have hoped you would have seen the dripping satire and you realized this was from an Air Force Leadership Logic perspective and in no way was I suggesting this was a "good idea"... Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  18. I am one of those guys and due to the way assignments were handled back then have no desire to "bail out" the AF, just to be the red-headed stepchild of the community. 6 years ago when I was still a young-un they might have enticed me, but now that I've seen behind the curtain... he'll no. 99% of the guys in my situation feel the same and those that are younger are delusional if they think they will have a successful career in a fighter when they are starting so late and didn't get a fighter when the assignments were 50%-75% better. Now a days if you have a pulse at the end of T-38s, you get a shot at IFF, and talking to my IFF bros, it is damn near impossible to wash dudes out. (It does still happen) Cross flow guys are literally racing against people who had a 4-6 year head start. Good luck winning that race. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  19. I actually agree with you. If they put guys through a full UPT T-38 syllabus a cross flow would work as long as those guys they selected would have had the potential to succeed given the chance the first time through. Crap in crap out. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken $hit... or something like that. Problem is right now with us being overloaded at UPT phase III, it doesn't make sense to use slots on guys you will only get one assignment out of before they separate. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  20. Problem with all of this is UPT isn't just full, it's overloaded and getting a mid-level Capt with only 4ish years left on his ADSC isn't as good of an investment as a 10 year slave (Lt), probably only a late rate would be better cuz you know those dudes are vested to 20 (maybe). This battle was lost a long time ago with TAMI-21, horrible drops from 09-12ish and the VSP. In my BA opinion, a cross flow would only work with a light strike/AT-6ish platform and call those guys 11Fs. You could grab the T-38 turned heavy guys and previous T-6/T-38 IPs. Then abuse the living hell out of them after one assignment by sending them to all those jobs the real 11Fs don't want to do, keeping them in cockpits, etc. Then replace those guys with the next batch of dudes that you don't want to send to Vipers, Eagles, etc. Step 3: profit. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  21. Hate to generalize, even though that's what this whole thread is predicated on. The heavy guys who are coming back as T-38 guys are a completely mixed bag based off when they went through UPT and were they kicked out of their community to AETC for a reason. I know of several guys who went through T-38s during the time we had too many fighter pilots (lol) who are not in AETC because their community values them. Let's be honest here AETC is a 2nd or 3rd tier assignment for every community. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  22. I agree, however some of the best UPT studs I have seen had previous time, one was even an FO for United. So while the experience won't directly relate, I would hope and pray that they have more airmanship and SA than a fresh out of UPT stud. Having said that, some people just suck regardless of their time and experience. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  23. You young-uns need to stop "liking" his posts, it just encourages him. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  24. I seldom read anything on this site that isn't true. Many complaints I have experienced myself. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  25. Now we know you aren't serious. Thanks Chang. But seriously WTF? Rated guys are seriously going to be released to this bull$#!+? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
