Russian Ukraine shenanigans
Have we ever been in sustained 24 hour combat operations with a very credible air threat? Obviously something was going on that caused a giant increase in "shoot at anything flying".

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
U.S. Patriot missile batteries fired two missiles on a U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet 50 mi (80 km) from Karbala, Iraq.[344] One missile hit the aircraft of pilot Lieutenant Nathan Dennis White of VFA-195, Carrier Air Wing Five, killing him on April 2, 2003. This was the result of the missile design flaw in identifying hostile aircraft.[345] A U.S. Patriot missile shot down a British Panavia Tornado GR.4A of No. 13 Squadron RAF, killing the pilot and navigator. Investigations showed that the Tornado's identification friend or foe indicator had malfunctioned and hence it was not identified as a friendly aircraft.[334][335] It happens.

WTF? (**NSFW**)
I thought for sure the autopsy would turn up something contributory instead of just getting choked to death. I wasn't there and I haven't ever been in that situation but it's hard to believe that he held that choke that long. Sucks for the marine. Sucks for the poor bastard in the cities that can't leave.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Nailed it. The current version is hilariously bad. It's down at least a few times a day. Our base had a contractor who's job was PEX. He knew EVERYTHING and could fix ANYTHING with a phone call. They cut his contract last year due to apparently no complaints or issues with pex so no need for a local help desk 🙂 Now we have a remote help desk who I don't think know what PEX is.

"Houseless" man who has been arrested more than 40 times for assault and the like was choked out on subway while harassing riders and ultimately ended up dying. Twitter is full of subway riders commenting on how he has attacked them in the past. AOC takes this chance to defend the man and..... https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1653880169516466178?s=20

What an absolute joke.

Starship baby
It could have made it all the way to splashdown and they would call it a failure despite that being the intention all along. Tribes man. Tribes.

Starship baby
They definitely know now though 🙂 Maybe saved them some money on demo.

Starship baby
I took it more as they thought they could get one launch out of it and gambled. They obviously lost.
-
Starship baby
Yeah, what were they thinking. It's twice as powerful as the largest rocket fielded. Did you read Elon's quote?

This angle is freaking wild. They definitely lost engines from this.

1 tower and many rockets. From the looks of follow on videos, they FUCKED up the pad big time. NASA would have spent decades designing a over engineered pad that would have came in 100% over budget. Space X took a risk from the looks of it and from the outside looking in, they'll need a redesign for the next launch. "3 months ago, we started building a massive water-cooled, steel plate to go under the launch mount. Wasn’t ready in time & we wrongly thought, based on static fire data, that Fondag would make it through 1 launch. Looks like we can be ready to launch again in 1 to 2 months."

It sure sounds great though....Meanwhile, our day to day mission support comm systems are down on at least a weekly basis and are given lip service support. So innovative.
-
Starship baby
Yup, they had no intentions of it making it up. Booster and ship were going to splashdown in pacific and Atlantic. They have more starships but only one pad.

Cleared the pad and then some before deconstructing. She's a big ol' bitch 10 million pounds of propellant Video of entire launch https://fb.watch/k17C1M-B4e/
