I'll never go back to irons on any weapon but you're 100% correct in that losing the dot is a very real thing and takes lots and lots of dry draw/fire to get the hang of it.
  7. Usually. I've personally seen folks TDY show up to ops, get a flightsuit and equipment fitting then step to the aircraft. This was many moons ago also. In my personal experience, I didn't receive any training. Not saying it happens for every flight, just that it happens.
  8. I helped strap in many a incentive rider in the D model and was very surprised at the little amount of seat briefing that was given by the various pilots. I got a ride a few years in and dude just said hey you're a crew chief, you know the drill 🙂

Safety is safety. Ground safety investigation was started I imagine. Could be wrong.

Baro alt variations amongst the fleet in that airspace is very interesting. This accident was going to happen no matter who was piloting at some point if it was allowed to continue.
  15. People are so fucking weird. That ladies husband is king of cucks.
  16. Pffttt. You just fly it into the big net. It’s easy.
  17. I'd be fine with cameras if there is no private money involved. It always goes wrong when it's for profit. Everywhere its been tried. The UK has been at it for decades. Last time I left they had placed average speed cameras on the motorways. Plate is logged going through checkpoints. If you make it through in less time than standard, you were speeding at some point. The mobile units were the most effective at generating revenue though. They'd pop up and generate a couple hundred tickets in the span of a few hours. I just looked and its estimated that the UK has 7,000+ traffic enforcement cameras. A giant chunk of those aren't operational and they still get people to slow down unless you're aware and gambling that 'this one hasn't flashed in months' so i'll risk it.

AF mandated inspections for all m18s was released. Essentially removing the FCU and inspecting for burrs and issues with the sear.
  19. The pilot and his girlfriend both arrested for fucking their 11 year old daughter starting when she was only 6.
  20. Spanish air force pilot has been praised for his “exemplary speed and professionalism”, after he performed a maneuver to avoid a flock of birds during the International Air Festival in Gijon. https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/clyr2qx0y87o https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/clyr2qx0y
  21. FST is voluntary and refusing has no automatic repercussions. Cop can still arrest you for DUI with probable cause. You can then take the station breathalyzer or blood test. Refusing either is implied consent violation and 180 day suspension appealable after 15 days.

They've tried the 'upgrade' process already. Anything short of a full buyback won't pass muster with general public. Anything they do will open them to further lawsuits. Unless there is some new testing that completely removes responsibility from the gun itself, it's not going to be pretty.
  23. Does anyone in the states do roadside breathalyzer's anymore?
