    From what I have read and seen mentioned here is the type of 'rigs' used in this drop were throw-away chutes and have a high failure rate.

    They rescinded it a few days later after it made the public 🙂 I go to a giant VA center for my care. The average age is about 65 years old. I can just imagine some poor worker taking down that photo in front of a few of them and explaining why.

    The 'exercises' are an evaluation of processes and paperwork that NEVER get executed when actual real world deployments are executed. NEVER. It's just a giant circle jerk of outside agencies who hinder the process.

    Thinking the same. Dude. Doused himself in fluid, then took quite a few attempts to get his lighter to work, then engulfed in flames. After full flamage, he was still yelling coherently in between screams.

    Having spent a good chunk of my career in Afghanistan, pulling those poor bastards off the battlefield.....watching this and then knowing how it all ultimately ended is infuriating beyond comprehension.

    I've got it on 'tape'. Read the paperback a few times way back in 92 and then a few times since then. Have since transitioned to 'tape' and have listened to the classics a few more times.

    What I don't get is this supposed 'new threat'. I'm not a smart man but hasn't it been possible for many many years to put a warhead on an ICBM and detonate near LEO? Someone make this new threat make sense
