Haha, we used to have to suffer through that video every year, back in my enlisted days, when we knocked out all our annual requirement! I figured it would go well with all the people nerding out about the obogs/LOX/Nitrous.

First shirt goes to his commander, who talks to your commander, your commander forces you to apologize to the airman. Not shit, a Major forced to apologize to a SrA, for giving the airman a counseling session (in private). It started out as a "talking to," to the airman about not doing their job, when the airman got respectful, it was time to talk in private! Our Marine exchange officer about shit his pants when he saw this! Saw it happen...

Are we talking an active A1C, or a guard A1C? Had an buddy (A1C) making just under 100k and numerous SrA - SSgt friends making well over 100k, in their civilian jobs!
This has been a big question lately. I would go into the base retention people or whoever run the GI Bill at your base. They should have nailed down, what you can and can't use. I haven't looked into it in a while, but I'm pretty sure they are getting it changed so you can count your title 32 time as well. From what I understand, you can only use a total of 48 months worth of GI-Bill from any of the various benefits (AD, Reserve, Post 9-11). I used the Reserve GI-Bill for college, so I only have 9 months left on mine...but it's still a years worth for the kiddo!

Valid! Never heard of him before today. Ya, must have missed that one... Copy... Because it costs about two to three times as much to send a kid through the academy. Not to mention the yearly operating costs of running the academy. We already have ROTC dets all over the country...seems like it would be cheaper. I don't know, maybe the dynamic of having guys from all three commissioning sources is good a good thing. But as nsplayr pointed out, this apparently has been discussed before, maybe this should be moved to that thread.
Also, if we're talking saving money, how much money would we save if we shut down the academies? Increase the number of ROTC/OTS students per year to make up the numbers. This would be what, one maybe two students per ROTC det? Paying a full ride scholarship at most colleges would be way cheaper than running the Academy! What do we really gain from the academies...especially with the students that punch at the end of their commitment?
While they're at it, kill ASBC and SOS...Talk about a joke, and waste of $$$$$!
