  1. So what is the word on continuation to 20 for the dudes now twice passed over? I haven't heard anything negative (I know the results just came out and it's still early), but it sounds like no news is good news.
  2. I seriously doubt it...the slide shown to the leadership for the brief that I attended had a picture of Lt Col Wilkerson, and that of course after his case was thrown out. Just like in the GZ case, presenting facts does not always help push the agenda. Stirring up fear and emotions, rather, do.

  4. You might want to read the article again. The Roman Catholic Church (which puts out doctrine and the Cannon) is lead by the Vatican, not a Catholic Hospital.

Buds LE has the new S&W MP Shield in 9mm for $335. I have fired the .40 version, and while I do like it, I'm not a big fan of the manual safety, though I'm still considering getting it in 9mm or .40. Has anybody fired the Springfield XDS in 9mm? As much as I love S&W's, I'm drawn to the XDS. http://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/14016
  6. It's by far the best spec-ops fighter in the world, hands down.
  7. This is unbelievable and complete crap--and I don't care who is on trial. It's not justice to change the rules at the last minute. A defense prepares their case based off the charges the State brings at the beginning, not for other 'potential' charges that can be brought up at the last minute. Also, who's to say that a defedant would keep his same 'not guilty' plea if he new he was being tried for a lesser charge? If you want to charge him with something else (ie if there's a hung jury) then go for it, but start a new trial with the new charge. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_NEIGHBORHOOD_WATCH?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2013-07-11-10-13-00

Agreed. My instinct tell me that up to a 1/4 of those sales were from the AR/AK type variety, though it would be nice to see an official stat or study.

Looks like Buds LE has the S&W MP-15 OR back in stock...and back down to the pre-scare price of $759. I wonder how many new AR's/AK's were sold since the shooting?...especially when compared to the same time-frame last year?

For some reason I'm still a little skeptical until I actually see CCW licenses in hand to anybody who qualifies for it (ie 'shall' vs 'may' issue). That's being said, I think it's great if and when if finally happens. Will they recognize any out of Sate permits? Also, if an Appeals Court's ruling forced this to happen then why doesn't this force other States who essentially deny permits to law abiding citizens? It's pretty much impossible to get a permit in Hawaii.
  13. I've seen FE's drop quite a few things...and I've also personally seen then grab the gunner's pen or something and throw it out the aircraft, one even threw the other's TOLD book!
  14. This is why we can't have nice things... I'm still going to blame the FE's, Gunners, and co-pilots.
  15. Oh, and just something to add to the discussion...not all Christian organization within this country truly believe in Liberty as can be seen here. Check out some of the religious groups that signed onto Feinstein's AWB, ban on certain magazines, etc. Religious groups, even though many of them do a lot of good in the country, still have a number one priority which is their own respective ideology/belief and not of our Constitutional Rights. I am very glad none of these groups (even if I belong or closely affiliate with one of them) are in charge of the country. Your Christian/religious beliefs should help and guide you how to live a better life, not how to force others how to live a better life. Keep in mind that this is coming from a Christian...but I can't in good conscience force others to belief or follow anything when it comes to my religion, as I wouldn't want someone doing that to me. Which is why I call BS when Dems and the GOP both site Christian views as a reason for promoting/being against certain laws. I would much rather have a bunch Libertarian atheists in charge who promote true Liberty.
  16. It got moved back to ACC because Big Blue didn't want their dedicated CSAR assets being used by SOCOM for anything else under the sun. Having dedicated CSAR under ACC allows the fighter guys to fly higher risk missions because leadership can say that they have CSAR ready to go in if something happens. If those same assets are being tasked as SOF units under AFSOC/SOCOM, then they might not be available to sit alert as dedicated CSAR whenever the fighter guys want to launch a mission. That's pretty much it in a nut shell. But sore some time now, the HH-60's aren't just doing 'dedicated CSAR', the CV's are up and running and can provide a different aspect to the CSAR/PR mission as shown in Libya (debatable), and we have budget issues...this all equates to AFSOC/SOCOM making another push to get the 60's and HC's under their command, and possibly get more CV's out of the mix too. My bet is we'll know something definitive by the end of the calendar year, and quite possibly even sooner as the CRH contract is supposed to be awarded by early October.
  17. The original discussion/question that I responded to had nothing to do with anything federal...besides, repeal of DOMA has pretty much settled that one. Marriage licenses issued by a specific State are not federal contracts. Same with professional licensees issued at the State level--we're not talking federal service here, we're talking State to State. There's a lot more to living in this country than just us folks who are in the military/work for the federal government. As of now, I do not believe that Oklahoma (not the federal government or federal installation) 'has' to recognize a marriage license from Massachusetts. That being said, Article IV, Section 1 could make that unConstitutional, but then at the same time could force States to recognize all licenses of other States, which they currently do not as I previously pointed out. Like I said, it will be an interesting next few months/years to see how this all plays out.
  18. You're correct in that The Constitution can be amended by the appropriate process--our Founding Fathers were wise enough to know that things they could not foresee would come up and would need to be dealt it with. However, when was the last time a gun control measure was seriously offered up or 'debated' as a Constituional Amendment?? I'm not aware of this happening, not in recent times...and really not ever (tried to find one and couldn't, but by all means correct me again if I am mistaken). Dems and Republicans LOVE to circumvent The Constitution on a whole range of issues...once in a while they're struct down, most times they are not, hence why we have all these damn Federal and State laws to begin with. So again, if she or anybody else wants to truly 'debate' the issue of the 2nd Amendment or anything else in The Constitution then I am all for having that debate...just don't fool yourself to what is actually going on.
  19. It's not supposed to be up for debate, regardless of how her constituents feel about the 2nd Amendment. I respect her military service and appreciate that she stands on her principles...but she, like almost all politicians, have selective outrage and are hypocrites. Just realize that they don't truly care about your Liberty when it's in conflict with their ideology.
  20. Yeah, my timing is off--damn it, I was wrong, my bad. I knew it was practiced in times of David, etc but I thought Jewish law had outlawed polygamy by the time of Christ (ie ancient Judaism) because the Romans were't really cool with polygamy. Further research (ie google) gives a more common answer of 1000 AD and also of note, polygamy wasn't non-existent in the very beginning of the Christian Church. Thanks for the correction.
  21. Pretty sure ancient Judaism was one man and one woman too, which would pre-date Christianity, though I could be wrong. Who says they get to wear any shoes at all?
  22. So is anybody else following the Zimmerman trial on the news--as in keeping up with the highlights? The 'star' witness the prosecution had up on the stand yesterday and today was a piece of work to say the least. It was entertaining to watch some of the highlights...entertaining as a train wreck. I'd say her credibility is blown.
  23. Well if it's mil dating mil, shear numbers prevented this from happening as much as it could happen now, just a fact. If I were a young E wanting to get out of the dorms, I personally would feel more comfortable entering into a "fake" marriage with a good buddy vs with a girl who I am friends with. If 2 dudes aren't gay and marry then there is less of an opportunity for one person to get upset when the other person is banging somebody else. Plus, as a straight guy, there are a lot more guys I would trust to not fvck me over than most girls--female friends get psycho once in a while, my guy friends, not so much.
  24. If guys haven't actually separated, they can always pull back their separation papers/request to stay on. If the AF is that hard up on pilots, I'm assuming most, if not all, would be approved to stay on. Exactly...who wouldn't take extra money for doing the same job you were going to do anyway?
