  1. Here's the problem--they chose a State in a sea of Blue! NH is being infiltrated by folks from MA and the other liberal States. It would have been better had they chosen a State such as WY, SD, MT, ID... When NH elects Sen Shaheen, then they're far from Libertarian. At least Sen Ayotte didn't vote for any of the gun control bills.
  2. Amen, Colonel! Shame what has happened to NH, they truly once were the bastion for Liberty.
  3. You missed the point. You're not allowed to have your hands in your pocket, and you're not allowed to discriminate against gender (ie tell a woman they can't/shouldn't serve in certain career fields if they're legally allowed to do so) because it goes against the AFI. But saying you don't believe/agree with gay marriage has nothing to do with the military as you don't have to be married/not married to do a job in the military...marriage is a lifestyle choice, pure and simple. If I loved to watch porn and gamble in Nevada but a First Shirt said he didn't agree with people watching pornography or gambling, then it's just his opinion, same as this situation as I read it (within the last 2 months I have personally heard an O-6 tell his folks that it's not good to watch pornography). Smoking is also a lifestyle choice--we are free to smoke, but there are several programs to help you stop doing it. It doesn't mean that you are allowed to discriminate against smokers, but you can have your opinion in that you don't think it's a healthy lifestyle choice (as the Air Force tells us). This is all PC bullshit, plain and simple. I'm still waiting though for dudes to be able to wear earrings and nail polish while in uniform--I mean if chicks can do it, why can't we? In other news...unless AF Crimes got it wrong, this article makes it sound that the '10 days of leave for gays to get married' is indeed going to happen.
  4. Reggie Love is such a racist...
  5. Confirmed--Aviation Service Date is the same day I started UPT.
  6. I'll recheck tomorrow, but pretty confident my AO's (and flight pay) started the first official day of UPT. Where's a 1CO when you need one.
  7. It's before you hit the flight line...it starts the first day of class.
  8. What about when guys are stationed overseas--is there permissive TDY to go back to the States to get married? For all I know maybe that exists.
  9. Did you feel that there was a socialist/progressive 'propaganda' message in the movie (ie worse than the usual that comes out in movies)? I have read from several different sources that it's pretty thick in this movie, and since I'm not a Matt Damon fan, I think I'll wait for DVD or just skip it all together.

And since I posted the last two deals on here, why no go for the trifecta: Gen 3 Pmags--3 for $30. About as good as it will probably ever get right there! http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/KTMAG557-3.aspx

Good price on some ammo right now at sgammo.com for Golden Tiger 7.62 x 39 and 5.45, all non-corrosive. I have shot the GT 7.62 and it's good Russian ammo.

PSA has a pretty sweet sale--10 PMags and a blemished lower for $170. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/10-magpul-mag571-with-safe-fire-psa-lower.html?utm_source=Huge+Savings+on+Weekend+Deals+-+Don%27t+Miss+This&utm_campaign=Constant+Contact&utm_medium=email
  13. I doubt this one will happen...but if it does (and the leave is additional to the 30 days a year we already receive), just say you're going to a State with gay marriage to get married to a dude and then come back after the 10 days and say you changed your mind and you're straight again. People change their minds and leave people at the altar all the time...no difference here.
  14. I knew when writing my post someone would make this comment...though I thought it would be General Dumbass and not an actual rated guy. The 'Bonus', ie ACP in years past, is not just about a monetary annual payment of $25K...it has to do with who is legible, how many years people can receive this amount, half up front or not, and so on. So again, the 'Bonus' is not the same as it has been year after year and is vastly different compared to what it was in 90's. If all Big Blue had to do was toss out the words 'twenty-five thousand dollars' to get guys to stay in, why are they changing the terms compared to last year? If everything is so great for the AF, why are they willing to spend more money on fighter guys this year compared to last year?...and in such a tougher year with regards to sequestration? I know Hacker and most other rated dudes understand this, but General Dumbass will try and tell us that everything is the same...though clearly they are not. And as for the 'annual amount' being the same (which I never said it was not), $25K has quite a bit less buying power that it did 15 years ago, but I digress.
  15. The Bonus did not same the same...11F's were offered a much different deal than they were years past. I wouldn't be surprised if that crosses into other communities next year. And as for there not being a 'crisis'...I have a feeling you would have said the same thing in the mid 90's when they were offering nearly all pilots a bonus to 20 years and even beyond. You are fooling yourself if you don't think there are manning/retention issues amongst the rated community. There's a reason pilots get a bonus, fighter guys get an even larger bonus, and most Navs no longer get any sort of bonus.
  16. AAFES to stop selling adult magazines amid slumping sales I'm sure this decision had nothing with the recent sexual assault/harassment issues the military has been dealing with. To be honest, I'm somewhat surprised this didn't happen sooner.
  17. Air Force opens doors to single parents So the Air Force is looking to slim down the force, but yet they want to start allowing single parents to join the military...makes sense to me. So why the exclusion of no more than 3 kids for officers and 2 for enlisted? I'm sure this decision was not at all political in nature and will undoubtedly help us succeed more than ever in our various missions.
  18. You're asking matmacwc, who IIRC applied and was approved for VSP, why he would suggest not taking the bonus? I'm sure if you search a little more you'll find posts where he details his reasoning for not wanting to stay in AD, and much less, take the bonus and be committed to Big Blue for another 5 years.
  19. Just out of curiosity man, what are your financial plans with the half up front $$? And if you don't wish the share the info, that's cool too.
  20. Since the Mods have taken down the Liberty thread, I figured I'd stick this story in here. I applaud this young officer for having the balls to take on his leadership and organization. Unbelievable...makes you wonder how many other departments are running in a similar way. So when does the Liberty thread get put back up?

Classic Firearms has Waffen Werks AK-74's for $650...this is one of the best prices I have seen. I have a Waffen Werks 74 and I really like it. http://www.classicfirearms.com/ak74riflewuspartsw1magonly
  22. What's even better is that it's not even an Air Force helicopter. I'd say that the vast majority of the guys taking the bonus are the guys who were going to stay in anyway. Though I'd be willing to bet that a lot of guys on the fence can be swayed to stay in with a nice a bonus. But as I have said before, as far as Big Blue is concerned, it's not all about changing guys' minds to stay in vs get out...I think it's more about getting a commitment from guys so that they can't drop papers at the moment they don't like their next assignment/deployment. It's hard to manage a force when a guy will separate just because you gave him a 365, after all, somebody has to take the deployment. I'm not making excuses for the Air Force not being able to more effectively manage their rated guys, just saying that the bonus helps them do it better vs without the bonus....and then leave it up to AFPC/Big Blue to screw up the rest.
  23. Smoke screen to help change the narrative from the scandals, NSA issues, and the weak economy. Clinton used it when Lewinsky came up, Bush did it in 2002/03 when the economy was still weak, and now it appears Obama might dabble with the same playbook in regards to Syria. It's always about politics over country.
  24. Show me where the Vatican says this or just admit that you're wrong. Unless you want to argue that the President himself initiated and ran Fast and Furious, targeting Tea Party Groups, tapped phone lines, dismissed a sexual assualt case, messed up my tax returns, and on and on.

If anybody is interested in a Ruger LCP (who doesn't already have one), Lanbo's has them for $264 with reasonable shipping--about the best price I have ever seen. http://lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_27_28&products_id=1271&referrer=CNWR_4191340829622
