I’m of the opinion that this has been his philosophy for quite a while, definitely spanning while he was on AD and being a high member of the intel community.
-
He was a top General in the Air Force and was one of the top guys in the intelligence world…let this sink in for a minute about what people in these positions think.
-
Did they only tell certain people who supported certain political parties, etc that they could/couldn’t eat at a chow hall because of their shorts? Singling out those who follow one political party/ideology and not the other is far worse than anything I saw 20 years ago.

The Air Force doesn’t want its members to go a conservative rally…shocking. https://www.foxnews.com/us/air-force-base-warns-service-members-avoid-rally-speaker-pro-trump-group

When Trump is literally compared to Hitler by those who have held top government positions, anything is possible.

Last I checked, suspending elections is about as far from democracy as you can get.

Doesn’t sound like equality to me…

Harbaugh is suspended from coaching during games for the rest of the regular season…and right before they play Penn State tomorrow.

A few simple questions if you want to have an honest debate: 1) At what point in a pregnancy do you personally think it should be illegal to terminate a pregnancy if the mother is not at a health risk (physically) to continue her pregnancy? 2) Similar to the question above, at what point in a woman’s pregnancy do Democrats on a national stage want to ban abortions? And can you provide a source for your response? 3) Why aren’t Democrats as supportive of organizations that try to convince women to not have an abortion and assist were her pregnancy as they are with organizations that support/perform abortions?
-
You’re dreaming man. And not just on the Republican side, but I’d say mostly on the Democrat side—the left could easily pass a bill in the Senate that says federal law protects abortion up until 4 months but then it’s against the law to do it afterwards. But that’s not what the left wants—their entire argument is “it should be left up to a woman and her (abortion) doctor”…which means zero bans. So sure, could the GOP play politics and vote for the 4 month ban as I suggested? Sure…though of course they’ll never do it for obvious reasons. And the left would also not vote for it since they don’t want any restrictions. So politically I don’t know where this goes from here on out. I do know that the majority of the country is not for abortion on demand. But they’re also not for a complete ban. In the end, the state issue makes since, both Constitutionally and politically. But I agree, if the GOP pushes for federal ban, not only will they not get it, but that it doesn’t help them at all politically. In the end, as much as I think abortion is morally unacceptable, we’ve got much bigger problems going on. It’s a distraction compared to massive fiscal shitshow brewing.
-
Well, now that’s it done, what do you recommend the GOP do going forward?
-
What the military used to offer as incentives (college, health care, some money) the left wants to give people for doing little to nothing to earn it. And for what the military does offer that is truly meaningful (discipline, skills, teamwork, etc), these are actually earned through hardwork, dedication, and sacrifice…something fewer and fewer people are willing to do. This is where the US is headed as a culture. None of this is surprising.

I honestly think that’s a good thing he helped one of his constituents (also it’s their job). But if you think that the massive out of control spending is a problem, then you have to hold those who vote for this crap accountable.
-
When you’re voting for bad legislation, then you’re not striving to improve things. And very, very few politicians often vote against their own parties on principe. Rounds supported bad legislation, so yes, he is part of the problem. And anyone who is bragging about how great politicians are…yeah, I question if they truly understand the big problem.
-
Wait…it’s popular to be disgusted with an institution that has put us over $33T in debt? I’m disgusted whether it’s popular or not popular. As as for Rounds, just because I might share some philosophical opinions as him, doesn’t mean he’s also not part of the problem. The 2019 NDAA was another massive spending bill, $21B over the previous year. Yep, the majority of the GOP love massive deficit spending as well. We have a big problem in DC, and I don’t think it’s gets much better when the people with an R next to their name are in charge vs the other party. So that’s cool that you’re a fan of this stuff, but let’s not pretend these Senators are truly willing to fix the real problems we have. You’re either a fan of much bigger government (yes, to include the DoD) or you’re not.

So the Dems supported Israel’s right to defend itself for about, what, 3.5 weeks?

It’s all good man. They’re still having a great season, this was just a nasty bump on the road. It is disappointing to lose (especially this badly) to a fellow service academy, and one that was 2-6 before the game started. My initial argument was I didn’t believe they were better than the teams they were ranked above in the coaches and writers polls. I hope they finish strong and get a great bowl game.
-
Definitely not looking good…against a rival…that currently has a 2-6 record.

If what you’re trying to say is that every policy decision (regardless of who is in charge) is political, then I most definitely agree with you. Just like other have said, no one at the higher levels of government actually cared about Ukraine and their “democracy” (they’re pretty corrupt btw)…but that’s how it was continuously sold the last 1.5 years. So what changed? As for wanting to get rid of Biden but struggling because the question of who would they put in…I don’t disagree per se that this is what’s happening, but the clock is ticking. So unless they want to have the Dem convention select a candidate, and I don’t think that would go over well, even for many democrats, much less independents, they need to get on it and fast. If I had to pick an outcome, Biden is their guy unless he can not longer even speak in front of a camera. And if that were to happen, how does he not resign and Harris take over before the election? I’m only about 60% confident Biden will be their guy btw. So back to the Ukraine piece—I think the Dems will blame it on the GOP (shocker) when funding stops or becomes much, much less of what it is now. And then the Dems will pivot the focus away from foreign policy and back to abortion, race stuff, and more welfare here in our country.

Those poor Senators…no time to do literally anything else but work to fight for the common man in the country and their specific states. It’s a shame to think they didn’t even have any time to meet with lobbyists, go to special events where they’re wined/dined, attend fundraising events for themselves or others, on and on. It’s amazing with how hard they all work that they can’t pass a budget on time, control spending, and make things better for the country.

Is it just a coincidence that this shift is happening around the same time that the leftist media is somewhere in between (at best) questioning how Israel should respond to their horrible terrorist attack and (at worst) supporting the claim that Israel accepts some of the blame for the attack, or are totally to blame because of their “occupation” or “genocide of the Palestinians”? You can’t say you support and want to spend money defending a democracy in Ukraine when they’re attacked, but then say the opposite about Israel.

Just so everyone else can see one of your earlier posts on the subject.

You literally brought in politics to this exact same discussion a few weeks ago, and now you want to pretend you didn’t…nice try.
