The left will just call you a racist. How dare you take power away from the leftists/elites.

When you look at the overall polls for the GOP primary, Trump is up 50 or so points above Haley. NH was an outlier compared to the vast majority of the other states due to how they allow anyone to vote in either party’s primary. 2016 was much worse of a primary with all the candidates staying in for a while, and yet, Trump still got what needed from the GOP base in the general election. As for Republicans that won’t vote for Trump because he’s Trump (it’s not even close to 45%) that can matter in the general when a handful of swing states could be that close.

Weak. This is why I think it’s hilarious that people actually think we’d go to war with China to defend Taiwan.

The same “media” who only continuously reports on a “mass shooting” if a long gun was used by a white straight male, with the second discriminator being most important? The “media” (ie networks, CNN, MSNBC, Fox) are on board with the elites calling what needs to be banned, not banned, more regulated, on and on.

I just want to go on record saying that I didn’t trust the UN well before October of last year… “UNRWA fires 12 staffers who allegedly took part in October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, US cuts funding” https://nypost.com/2024/01/26/news/un-fires-staffers-who-allegedly-took-part-in-october-7-hamas-terrorist-attacks-on-israel/

You can’t “fundamentally transform the United States” (where have I heard that one before?) with a convention of states when 2/3 of the states can’t agree on much and 3/4 of the states can’t agree on hardly anything…so the left would never go for it. Also, the same states that wouldn’t go for it largely want to do away with the Electoral College, so I seriously doubt they want states they don’t like having more state control than they already do. Frankly I’m surprised things like this in Texas haven’t happened more often and earlier. The states wrt their respective values and priorities are further apart than at any other point in my lifetime (and I’m a Gen X’r). And for an ideology who thinks the previous president is a wannabe dictator, literally Hitler, on and on…you would think they would want the federal government to have much less control, not more, just in case he gets back in office? Yeah, I’m going to say the party, who thinks the worst thing to ever happen is allowing individual states to determine when an abortion can happen, isn’t going to be for a convention of states. Things will get worse before it gets better.

While I don’t necessarily disagree with you on principle of your argument, the left has already said the court is delegitimized due to overturning Roe and a few other cases. Additionally, Biden isn’t following the courts on different rulings as well. So in the end, someone believes the system is working as intended or it’s not…it’s clear that the left doesn’t believe it is, so at what point does the right follow suit in their own way when they believe it’s harming the country? And what will this mean for the future of the country?—it’s not very good, but I think things have been trending that way for quite a while (following what has been going on with the DOJ the last decade?). This is just another large straw on the proverbial camel’s back.

Since when does Cornell have anything to do with the words used in US law? “Undocumented immigrant” isn’t found anywhere in US code. Even the link to shared goes back to citing US code which uses the term “alien”. From NPR (hardly a conservative outlet): “The word "alien" is used throughout U.S. immigration law. But the White House is seeking to replace it as part of a sweeping overhaul bill it sent to Congress.” https://www.npr.org/2021/04/19/988789487/immigration-agencies-ordered-not-to-use-term-illegal-alien-under-new-biden-polic Oh and the author of your earlier post is also against the Electoral College…he is such a supporter of the Constitution. https://www.pulj.org/the-roundtable/the-constitutionality-of-the-national-popular-vote-interstate-compact

Thanks for sharing an article written by a college kid over 5 years ago who only uses the term “undocumented immigrants”…yeah, no bias there. If we’re going to discuss US law, perhaps start using terms in US law.

The progressives new strategy: It is Trump and the Republicans who want an open border and the Democrats are the ones who want to fix it. You just can’t make this stuff up. https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2024/01/26/dem-sen-merkley-theres-open-border-gop-doesnt-want-to-fix/

Looks like things are getting interesting on the Texas southern border between Texas and the Feds…

Appreciate your opinions as always! My take with any major concern/prediction is being able to measure if it was accurate. For example, the climate alarmists have been wrong many times over the last several decades and at least now they’ve become more slick and are making their predictions so far in the future that we’ll all be nearly dead by the time we can see if the predictions were accurate or not. Credibility amongst the “experts” (climate, geopolitics, finance, etc) can only be judged by the accuracy of their predictions, and they need to measured in the shorter vs the longer term. As for China specifically, I’m far from an expert, but I wouldn’t be very surprised if China invades Taiwan in the next several years (can it really be called an invasion if even our own government says Taiwan in part of China and not independent?), but I would very surprised if the CCP fell apart in the same time frame.

So your response to my question if you believe all, some, or none of his incitements to be legitimate and non-political is “some?”, but at the same time you don’t believe his indictments to be political? Ans then recently you said you’re uncertain…talk about mental gymnastics!
-
Appreciate the response. I truly don’t care whether you like Trump or not. I personally think he’s a complete jerk, but I do think his policies are overall a vast improvement over the current administration. What is strange though is that you admit you believe at least some of his indictments to be political/not legitimate, and yet you use that as a reason to further dislike him/not want his as a president? Why not just stick with your own personal reasons vs reasons you admit aren’t legitimate? As for him being a jerk, not someone I would want to be friends with…that has literally zero effect on my life. I’m not trying to be friends with the guy. But his tax policies, not wanting to forgive student loans, his picks for judges, etc do affect me in a positive way compared to Biden. I was hoping for DeSantis but it became obvious last year that wasn’t going to happen. As for Haley, I’d rather have Trump than a Bush/Romney style Republican. Will Trump win in Nov? I stand by my recent 50/50 chance I’ve recently states. And if Biden wins (I’m actually starting to think it might be M Obama as the Dem nominee), then oh well. Me and my family will personally still do very well, but I’m sure the middle class will continue to take a large hit. And as for the lower class, the more illegals we allow in, the lower wages will stay.

Whatever you say man.
-
Well, if you have opinions on which prosecutions are political, then I suppose I can do the same. And no, I am not a criminal defense attorney, and I have a funny suspicion that I’m in good company, though I could always be wrong.
-
Considering the old saying of “you can indict a ham sandwich” refers to that it’s pretty easy for prosecutors to get an indictment from a grand jury in the vast majority of cases. And yes, I think they’re very political. So now to you since you responded: Regarding the Trump indictments do you believe all, some, or none are legitimate and not political?
-
Do you believe all, some, are none of these “court appearances” are legitimate and not political?
-
So Biden literally says the border isn’t secure and hasn’t been for the last 10 years…which encompasses 3 years when he was VP and now 3 years as President. And yet he and his fellow progressives only want to make it easier for illegals to come in, oh, and he wants to give them all permanent residency and eventually citizenship. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/01/19/president-biden-says-the-southern-border-is-not-secure/72288828007/

Not calling you out since I’ve had plenty of predictions turn up incorrect, but curious what your take is currently? (and yes, I know this wasn’t your prediction per se, but from your post I’m assuming you thought there was some potential validity to it).
-
You’re telling me that the vast majority of people at the pro-Palestinian rallies, you know the ones at college campuses in other major cities, are actually right wing Trump fans? I’m talking about the rallies/protests since October…none of your links have anything to do with what I’m referring to.
-
Well, if I’m a betting man, the vast majority of those under 44 who deny the holocaust happened/was exaggerated are probably the same type of people at pro-Palestinian rallies. Unless you believe these are right wing Trump lovers?

I don’t think she ever did have a shot in SC, or much of one in the entire primary period. And I wouldn’t really call it anything “strange”—Trump is basically running as an incumbent when it comes to party politics, and the majority of the GOP agree that it’s his nomination. Now can he win in November?—I’m still going with my 50/50 that I mentioned a few weeks ago. The real question before November is will Biden or Obama be the Dem nominee?
-
DeSantis is now out. After Haley loses in NH and SC, I imagine she’ll drop out as well.
