CV-22 Crash at Hurlburt
Irrelevant man...a commander can be fired for any reason under the blanket waiver 'the XX/CC has lost confidence in XX/CC to lead' or something to that affect. By the way, this wasn't the first issue this Sq CC had...there were other examples in the past (some more recent) with the squadron that caused upper level leadership to want a change.

Latest Movies
I too watched the 'Hatfields and McCoys' series this weekend. I thought it was done extremely well, and if you research the feud, the movie seems to closely follow the true story. Refreshing to see some quality stuff on tv.

First Female Fighter Wing Commander
I'm personally still waiting for the first female wing commander who is black and gay...these days just being a white straight female is no big deal.

I think they TOTALLY get it (Suicides)
Welcome to the United States (or what's left of it). There's a reason we have a separate/distinct culture compared to most of the world...though we're slowly losing our identity.

DoD "ready" for DADT repeal
Found an interesting comment below the article... Just for the sake of the discussion, I'm curious to hear what the girls were doing while 'dancing'. If it in fact this above comment is true, ie that they were going at it while in uniform, well first, I need a picture/video (giggity), and second, I'd like to know why it's wrong for someone (the CC) to then tell them they need to cut it out? Would it be acceptable for a guy and a chick to be going at it while in uniform at an official ball with dates/civilians around? Or is this just part of the double-standard that has begun taking over our military? As for the CSM, if it's true what he did, then yes, his ass needs to be disciplined to the max extent. ...edited to say thanks to Grind for the pics

Common Vertical Lift Support Platform 15 yrs late
Irrelevant to my point. I said that though I agree the Lakota would be a poor replacement for the N model (obviously a poor replacement for the Huey flatiron), I was commenting on: Again, even if all the flatiron birds were 60's or 47's and were all broke, there would still be plenty of birds in the area to pick up a crew if someone was hurt. As for having to wait to get picked up from a PL near Rucker, big deal man. I've waited SEVERAL hours while PL'd in the freezing cold mountains and having to build a fire just to stay warm--Rucker is nothing.

Agree on the overall discussion that the UH-72 would be a poor replacement for the Huey. Disagree on the part that there would be an issue (due to the fact that the UH-72 can't carry much) if a Rucker bird had issues and there were injuries--you can't swing a dead cat within a 50 mile radius of Rucker without hitting a helicopter. Trust me, there would be more than enough assets in the area to make the pick-up if needed.

AF to upgrade aging Hueys for stateside work Who are they kidding? Endurance/range = more efficient engines/power plant, ability to carry more fuel, etc. The new engines are a slim possibility, but I don't see them overhauling much else. Increased speed means you would have to give us a slower rotor, requiring more rotor blades to produce similar lift capabilities, etc...don't see this one happening either. Navigation?...there's a GPS, that's good enough. Communication--just give the non-Andrews birds better radios. The biggest joke is the 'all weather capabilities'--anti-icing rotor blades? I'll believe it when I see it. If the Air Force wanted to have all these things then they should have just bought a new helicopter--one with more cabin space, better/stronger engines, fully articulated rotor blades, ability to carry more fuel...

I don't own an LC9, but I have shot it several times. I personally don't like the way it feels/shoots (mainly the trigger), but that's not to say it's a bad firearm (I actually like the Ruger LCP for a pocket CCW). It also has a safety which is a no-no in a lot of eyes, especially when it comes to CCW. Size wise it would make a good IWB firearm. Personally, I would go with a Kahr P9/PM9 (CW9/CM9 for the less expensive version) as IMO it feels and shoots better. The new S&W MP Shield might be right up your alley as well. Are you only interested in a 9mm? Though I'm a .40 guy, I'm really considering buying a Kel Tec PF9--anybody shoot one?

Secret Service prostitution bust spreads to military

Results of the primary should be in at 8pm PT. Here seems to be a decent site to watch the returns. And for my liberal friends, here is a link to politico who will also have the primary results.- Space & Missiles Flight Suits (GONE!)
Whether or not you agree with my comment, it stands on its own. Gravedigger said that a navigator is useless, and I very much disagree with him (and I don't even fly with navs...though I know what they do and the benefits they bring, specifically on Spec Ops type platforms). I then shed some light in that I value the FE's (non-pilots) I fly with 100 times more than I value what he does in the Air Force. FE's have literally saved my life many, many times, and I could not do my mission without them. I have saved other people's lives with the hard work of FE's. So yes, I would not give up my enlisted aircrew members for more space guys...therefore, I personally value them more. That being said, I very much appreciate anybody who puts on a uniform. But when you start whining and throw aircrew under the bus to make yourself (and your profession) look more higher speed than it deserves, you get called out--and when you get called out, you find out where your profession stands in the eye of someone else. I know this sounds like a Direct TV commercial, but this is how things work. The truth hurts sometimes.- Gun Talk
Ahh yes....my mistake. Carry on gentlemen.- Space & Missiles Flight Suits (GONE!)
Spoken like a guy who never flew in a crew aircraft...which is accurate given that you quit UPT, most likely during the T-37/6 phase (if you even made it that far). By the way, I value my enlisted aircrew members and their contributions 100 times more than I value whatever you do in the Air Force. Thank you for sitting in your chair--in your 1G, zero knot environment.- Gun Talk
Just curious....why would you go through the ass pain of getting a Class 3 for 1.5 inches of reduced barrel length? Don't get me wrong, 1.5'' can be a substantial difference in life...I just don't think it applies in this situation though.- Gun Talk
You're 11 months behind the power curve man. On the positive side, it is pretty cool that you took enough interest in the video to post it.- Gun Talk
I've been hearing a lot about this 'new' from Smith & Wesson that will be revealed later this week...seems that someone has leaded a picture... What do you guys think? I personally love Smith & Wesson firearms...carry a MP40c on occasion, but would definitely go for an even slimmer gun as the MP40c is a bit on the heavy/large side. I'm assuming this will be a single stack, much like a Kahr, Kel Tec, etc. As much as I am a fan of the .40, I'll probably get this in a 9mm if that's all they come out with, though I'd be willing to wager that they'll also come out with a .40 version. Not a fan of what looks like to be an external safety, but what can you do. - 1st female Air Force combat vet in run for congress
