  1. Checked to see if someone my buddy knew was on their schedule for Friday and all of their SQs had their schedules off the net from Friday. I sure hope they find the other guy/gal...
  2. Someone in editing screwed up... C-130 Bomber?
  3. Air France to charge obese passengers for two seats Edit: Didn't paste properly
  4. My buddy's alter ego is Gabe Asher. Sounds like a spare nametag might not be a bad investment...
  5. You should talk to your instructor as well as your CO and COC. Don't sound like a whiny bitch though, because they will have no sympathy for you. Figure out how much you failed by, and ask if there is any extra credit, or other lame shit that you could do if you only failed by a point or two. No offense though, if you got a D and they didn't talk to you about it and sent you an email, sounds to me like they have made up their mind.
  6. Never saw the civilians do that in Corpus. I asked my wife, and she said the active guys never saluted her there either.
  7. This is why I don't piss off Toro, M2, CH, etc. Regardless, people put a lot of effort to help others and give advice they wish they would've had back in the day. If some douchebag wants to act like a thundercunt then they should be recognized accordingly. Beggars can't be choosers, the rules are fairly easy for follow. I hope oldtruck90@yahoo.com and triplefoxtrot@yahoo.com both understand their mistakes and learn from them. I don't believe their should be any retaliation to oldtruck90@yahoo.com or triplefoxtrot@yahoo.com. Public humiliation should be enough. However, if you would like to discuss it with them, they can be reached at oldtruck90@yahoo.com and triplefoxtrot@yahoo.com.
  8. Don't really need the hours, just a PIC check in the plane. They recently changed a whole bunch of rules to the CFR in 61.73 (military pilot shit) including new rules on instructor pilots being able to become CFIs or something like that. (don't know first hand, just what I was told by the FAA guy when I went to get my certs. recently) !2#4, try not being a douchebag when you ask for advice...it pays off, especially around here.
  9. Thoughts and Prayers go out to the victims and their families. Next stop, knee-jerk reactions involving annual Muslim sensitivity training. I expect the CBT to be out by next week.
  10. Looks like the Air Force Times has caught on... AF Reflective Belts Draw Jeers on Facebook
  11. +1 to the group, sending out invites...
  12. The way it was 3 or 4 years ago, if your Det commissioned more than 10 cadets, you were guaranteed a DG. If less than 10, it was still possible, but not required. (Asked a buddy of mine, former COC)
  13. WOW! (look at those reflective belts!)
  14. Was this your end product BQ? Seriously though, +1 vote for making this a Classic Thread. Oh yeah, and SIE from life if you SIE from UPT before you even start.

Some other heavies have them. Add the 36th to that list...
  16. Go wikipedia pinworms! That's f'n gross!
  17. 2 Robins is a Logistics Base...so naming it after someone who is considered the "Father of Air Force Logistics" seems about right.
  18. Not to sound like a broken record, as I do appreciate your enthusiasm as well. The Navy example though is kind of a poor one. When the Navy has 280 different ships to name people for, they tend to have more opportunities to honor their fallen. (BTW, another AF example of course was Seymour Johnson AFB, who was named after a Navy Vietnam pilot I believe) The Navy doesn't exactly have a rich history of naming bases after people (NAS Corpus Christi? NAS Kingsville? Twentynine Palms? Great Lakes? Kings Bay?...) I wish you luck, but renaming a base is not the answer.
  19. Going DNIF in UPT = Have fun.
  20. I have to vent this. Sky cops got me. I got to The Rock back on the 19th. Anyone who has been/currently is stationed here knows they have a large 4 lane road just past the gate going into the heart of the base that is on a hill. Flash forward two days, I am driving off base for maybe the 2nd time. I get to the top of the hill going down, and I hit 35 so I let off the gas and coast just about all the way to the gate. As I approach, the blue lights flash and I get pulled over. I'm thinking random inspection. So I pull over, and the rent-a-cop comes up and asks me if I know why I was pulled over. I politely say no, I did not. He says I was speeding. So I say, "I'm pretty sure I wasn't, the speed limit is 35 right?" He says yeah, but you were going 42. So at this point, I have the "Are you shitting me, 7 over?" look on my face. But here is the part that blew my mind. He says "When I first clocked you when you first came over the hill, you were going 35, but by the time you got to the bottom of the hill, you were going 42." I say, OK, let me play the dumb, new LT card. It doesn't work, and I get slapped with a 7 over ticket. As he gives it to me, he says "Just remember sir, we are here to ensure your safety." At least the shirt laughed when I give it to him.
  21. As far as sharing a house, I know they were going to eventually start offering that option (they do at Corpus), but based on what they told me, with the renovations/new house building and the waiting list for housing, that won't be an option until they finish building some of those houses and the wait list goes down. Give them a call, it can't hurt to ask The Landing at Vance Vance dorms, based on the pictures I've seen of the Columbus dorms, are nearly the same. Small kitchen, living/bedroom area, bathroom and closet. The furniture even looks the same. They are small, but you won't be there long. The dorms at Vance are also directly across the street from the OSS (where most of your academics will be) and across a street/parking lot from the sim building and flightline.
  22. Question for guys at the rock: I start next week and will have the wife with me as well as the dog. I'm are looking for a place that allows both. I know most say "try the links" but they don't allow dogs over 15lbs (ours is 30lbs). Also, because I'm going overseas, I need a place that is furnished since all of my stuff will be gone. Does anyone have any recommendations for this sort of situation? If anyone knows someone in one of the SQs that has a house for rent (I'm sure there are instructors that do), if you could send their info my way, I'd appreciate it.
  23. This one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wyEAHqkXGQ I love the "Big Ass Chain" necklace T-Pain is wearing, where can I get one?
  24. Wow! He had one, very long, run on sentence. But he is a lyrical wordsmith! Kanye West is a Gay Fish
