For out-of-contract unlocks, you may have to show proof of purchase (I bought mine off eBay and the AT&T rep said Apple may ask me to fax in a screen shot of my eBay purchase history showing the iPhone...they haven't yet). It's an airplane. It has wings. It flies. You'll do fine. I've seen quite a few guys come to the Herk from -38's (IFF washouts, transfer between guard units before FTU, etc.). Their successes and failures had nothing to do with the -38 or a "single-seat mindset." The ones who did well were the ones who came in embracing the mission, had a solid work ethic, and showed an eagerness to learn. That's it.

While I'm usually among the first to advocate cutting useless spending (looking at you, TIB), I will say CC has some value, when utilized appropriately. Last year they flew with the Herks in OEF and got some great day/night HD video of several of the fields we go to over here. Since then, we've used those clips in pre-mission briefs for crews going into those fields for the first time. While the AF will never derive PR value from any of these clips, they have provided direct support to deployed Airmen delivering the beans & bullets.

Way ahead of you, boss. We here in the C-130 community take aero-reflectivity very seriously.
