  1. coastgaurd has a garaunteed flying program like the marines. i was/am considering it if i dont get an AF pilot slot
  2. question: do all POCs got stipends whether ur on scholarship or not?
  3. phlash - not to get this thread of topic or anything but not all frats are the same as the one u described. my process was almost three months of hardship everyday of the week. an 18rack of pbr and cinder block on my junk would of been a cake walk. but i'm glad to see u atleast see where i'm comin from. on topic sorta - whats the problem with the prop and wings on flight caps? from what i've been told we used to have them back in the days of the army air corp and just carried them over.
  4. im guessing u guys that dont understand this have never been in a fraternity. because from these post that i'm reading thats exactly what this recognition sounds like. as a frat member myself i completely understand. but cant explain it any better then those that have posted above
  5. i cant help with any info. but i'd like to get an answer on this too bc i wanna do the samething but a masters not bs
  6. dang man thats exactly what i've been needing to hear. our cadre here is like "we've done all we can" and my friend is believing them and kinda giving up so i'm the one trying to motivate to not accept defeat. so how did u go about getting that medical visit? another problem is that right now he cant afford to go see any other docs that he'd have to pay for. i'm sure thats bad in this situation.
  7. Hey so one of my best buds in rotc with me just got his dodmerb(sp) done and he has been dq'ed for asthma and he has astrigmatism. he hasn't had a problem with asmtha since he was 13 and he wears glasses. our cadre has told them that there is nothing that they can do as far as waivers but i want to research more since they have been known to miss things. anyway he's not trying to go into flying he just wants to be an areospace engineer. so i'm just looking for basic commissioning waivers so that he can get through rotc and be happy in the force. i've searched but haven't found anything specific so i'm asking for help. plz let me know guys thanks! edit: i'm hoping to get the ball rolling on this soon cause big week is coming up for field training and we're both 200s. 8. i hate to bump this old thread. but are there anymore boards? i'm trying to get more first hand info on careers other than aviation.
  9. this is just a random question. but i realized i've never seen any officers with dog tags before in real life. do all O's get dog tags? or is it just certain positions? just curious. thanks
  10. or the terminator trilogy or the matrix trilogy? we're all doooooooomed
  11. awww that joodie site doesn't seem to work anymore. anyone know of a new one?
  12. no offense but whats up with all the older aged folks in upt? where are all the 20-22yr old guys from rotc and the acad?
  13. pershing rifles does have a sister sority its called pershing angels and i'm sure we could have parties if we wanted to.
  14. Personally, I know the Air Force is the best service, and the mission that I want is only blue; but if I'm gonna be involved in something ROTC oriented, AAS just doesn't do it for me.(sorry Arnies)
  15. well i donno how relations are with ur skools cadre. but i'm at company p4 and army rotc is our main sponsor. they loan us the weapons for drill, ruck sacks, bdu boots, uniforms, pretty much anything we need that they have. afrotc doesn't seem to like us that much probably bc theres an aas unit here. since p/r is heavily army oriented start making friends with the army rotc cadre if there is one cause they will be ur greatest asset. as far as money out of pocket i believe at times it cant be quiet a bit. so start planning lots and lots of fund raisers.
  16. im a sp05 rifleman here at company p-6 tuskegee univ. im curious to what other companies initiation processes are like...
  17. yea i know that. i'm wondering what type of different pay additions missle guys get, how often, and what it amounts to. on average of course
  18. sorry for a lame question. but how much does a space missles guy usually get paid?
  19. i believe its in line to recieve a bunch of upgrades so i think it'll be around for a while
  20. man at pt on monday we had music playing and that one song from the video came on and i could stop laughing.
  21. hey i was just watching the history channel or something and they had a show about pilots doing the g chamber. i'm wondering, in what phase do u do the g testing?
  22. LMAO LOL that was good. well i know the "pledging" process includes alot of pt since it is a rotc orientated org. so if anything it'll probably get me in better shape. also fury what do u mean everyone can see my undies? also i dont talk with slang to cadre members or anything so dont worry i always look, sound, and act like a profesional and fine officer candidate
  23. hey my campus has a pershing rifles service org here. i was wondering what u guys thought of them? if i pledge and become one would it help me any in my AF career? so far our AAS squad doesn't want me here so i think im gonna pledge PR instead. my army rotc homie is one and it seems like fun atleast. lmk
