Motorcycle Riders Thread
Personally I think it's the best looking sport bike out there, and the only reason I don't own one is I don't have the discipline not to try to max it out, oh yeah, and my $1100 car payment...ridiculous acceleration in a straight line, though. …

Wait, are you on a 120? Because, if so, I'm apparently a little slow on the uptake...

Whats the funniest thing you've heard over the radio?
I wasn't saying THIS was a SANP pissing contest and I wasn't saying that YOU were a SNAP. I was just saying at least the subject was aviation related. If I misunderstood your post, my bad. As for Class B. I introduced that to the conversation because I assume the controller had the AC slow from 250 to 200 because of the Class B speed limit not the speedlimit below 10,000. Might be wrong, I wasn't there...

Whats the funniest thing you've heard over the radio?
Wow... What's the max speed under 10K again? Hint: it's not 200. What's the max speed under class B? Hint...somewhere around 200. It pains me that the grammar Nazis pounce in seconds but THIS went unchecked for over 12 hours... Hint, I can only speak for myself, but I care more about that shit than the latest SNAP pissing contest. OH, and in order to validate this post and keep it on topic...I've heard funnier shit on the radio than that (the post I'm referencing).

British sniper knocks off 5 Taliban in 28 seconds.
Thanks, have a slight averson to doing math in public. 111 feet...indirect fire...checks...

Why I only wear 15 pieces of flair
Why I left AMC...with a smile.

No kidding! I wonder how much drop there is for that round/rifle in ~5300'... Damn near indirect fire.

I think you're missing the point(s). Here are some issues: 1. WTF does taking the MQF have to do with it? There are maybe 1 or 2 questions out of ~375 on taxi, and the offenders most likely knew the numbers. 2. What is an acceptable passing score on a test? 3. Grounding/Control roster for not getting 100% on an MQF? Isn't the community shorthanded enough? 4. The above kneejerk does nothing but cover the CC's ass by proving he did "something" (as Rainman pointed out)...it will do nothing to prevent a future mishap. I'm guessing this is at CHS...can anyone confirm (without violating privilege)?

Don't sweat it, there's a little inferiority complex going on here.

Military in Uniform at Airport
Oh yeah? Why?

Military in Uniform at Airport
I know what you mean. The last time I was in the Middle East, there was a whole shit load of folks in uniform...seemed like everyone was, Army, AF...even foreign services. Walking right down the street, driving vehicles, flying planes, all in full view of the public! I was going to order all of them to change, but some of them out ranked me…

Kuma's one of the F-ing good guys
Oh me too, me too. What a relief! I don't think I could have stood the embarrassment.

Kuma's one of the F-ing good guys
Sorry for the faux pas, I'll stair at her picture and beat myself for 5 minutes as punishment.

Kuma's one of the F-ing good guys
If I'm going to start a poll of my own WRT a marine, it's going to be that chick that used to be on JAG...granted not a real Marine, but she gets my pole started every time.

Kuma's one of the F-ing good guys

North Atlantic Procedures
Shit, AMC won't even let us do .76 anymore, we're going across at .74 these days to save gas.

North Atlantic Procedures
What's to study? Manditory 0, 1 or 2 mile offset right after your coast out. Make sure you're back on centerline by coast in. Not so much of an issue if you're flying a 0 mile offset. Agree that the best document to look at is the MNPS. It has everything you need to know.

I believe that's correct.

T-Bird mishap pilot receives CSAF safety award
Only time I've ever heard of an O being "demoted" is if court-martialed and sent to prison as a result. It's a very rare thing and it's always all the way down to E-1.

The Rise and Fall of Captain Holly Graf (USN)
That's never been regarded as good leadership. A good leader might do it occasionally under certain circumstances, but not as a matter of policy. That's how I take it. An unstable leader is poisonous to an organization. Agreed, if that was the only issue. I've taken my share of ass chewings before and profanity has never bothered me.

The Rise and Fall of Captain Holly Graf (USN)
I don't buy that for a second.

Does that mean I have to give my GWOT ribbons back...what's OEF going to be called?

Flight Instruction on AD
I have a unique perspective on the subject. I got my PPL at the Barksdale Aero club (now defunct)...my CFI during that time was a Transportation Lt (now it would be LRO) at the same base. So yes, aero clubs have been known to hire AD officers as CFIs. I imagine you could get on with a FBO near your base if they don't have an aero club. I also eventually got a pilot slot through the AD board, so as others on here have said, don't quit trying. If you want any more details, feel free to PM me. Concur. I own two, a 310 and a Piper Tripacer with 2 and 3 solid partners respectivly. Good partners definitely make it affordable. If one of your partners is an A&P, that helps a lot too.
