Nothing sinister, but it's...uh...shocking...that A1 implemented the program without full understanding of Title 10, leaving local MPFs and CCs to twist in the winds of conflicting guidance and creating stress/drama for separating members. It is similar to the A1C at the Finance Office fooking up your travel voucher, but on a MUCH larger scale. I am relieved that SECAF fixed the issue.

As far as digital watches go, the most accurate I've seen are the Casio gadgets that get a nightly time-hack from one of the 6 clocks in the world that transmit a synchronization signal. If you're in range of the signal, your watch will have a GPS-quality hack. Problem is, many bomb-sponge countries in the world are well outside the range of the synchro signal. As soon as you put on your war pants, your watch isn't any better than a $36.14 watch at the BX. For daily use, however, they can't be beat.

And let's not forget that the airborne personnel gave the JTAC enough confirmatory comm (no friendlies on the ridge) to feed the JTAC's expectation bias. No arty asset would have been able to provide that. Be warned: JTACs often assume your SA is higher than theirs, and sometimes this is not the case.
