Radio etiquette
I have never heard (barring an ASR) a center controller give headings in anything less than 5 degree increments (ie heading 175, 285). Was that transmission really heard?

Wedge theory
We've had a rash of over-G's lately, quite a few of them flying CT. So, of course the boss is getting mad. Well, he goes cross country, with a pod (g limits 0 to +4). After he gets out of the weather, he decides to porpoise his wingman out to tactical. Well, on the top of the porpoise, he hits -0.05 Gs and of course, he gets the klaxon. Over Gs weren't much of his special interest after that.

Anyone know who I can talk to get transfer into the Marine Corps?

Jeremiah Weed
Weed is no longer sold in the state of Mississippi, not even in the class 6. It was great justification why we HAD to go to cross country before the next naming.

Why T-38s for B-52 (BUFF)
I bet there are more on this board who didn't "turn down" a T-38 that those who did.

Highest Pilot On Baseops
CH, I've been to FL 200 in a TG-3 at the Academy. Denver Center actually opened the wave window for us in the middle of summer. It was probably one of the coolest experiences ever. Got there in a thermal that started at 9k with 2000 VVI and the VVI was pegged passing 180.

Advanced Instrument School (AIS)
Are slots pretty tough to get? FAIPs don't get sh*t in our squadron...

Advanced Instrument School (AIS)
Anyone know about this course down at Randolph. I know it's probably gay, but I had a good time down in San Antone during PIT and I'm looking to revisit some hos down there.

Rule #1: Never have the word "future" in your screenname. You are gonna jinx yourself. Just ask Raptorpilot.

TDY Nametag Ideas?
We got patches with our squadron commander's name on them. It's funny having 6 dudes walk around with the same nametag. EDIT: Of course, I am a dollar late and a day short once again. [ 05. December 2005, 00:23: Message edited by: Vetter ]

Fuel Burn Rates
T-38C...2700 lb/hr low level, 1800-2000 lb/hr just scootin around, and 1600 lb/hr if we sky hook. 4000# is a full tank.

USAFA (Academy) or ROTC
Ah, another Academy vs ROTC argument. It's funny to me that only ROTC people bring it up. It's kind of like the ENJPPT vs SUPT argument... It's kind of like the Air Force Aviation vs Naval Aviation argument... or the Seminoles vs Gators argument... need I go on? The only people I see making a big deal out of their commisioning sources are the ones that aren't satified with their choices. That includes both Academy and ROTC grads.

They don't bug me, they are just funny to hear over and over and over in a brief. When did you go through PIT?
