Damn, them boys is GOOD! I'd much rather watch and hear these guys play than the BEPs! They kinda remind me of Dread Zeppelin, a reggae band that did Led Zeppelin songs with a somewhat chubby Elvis impersonator as a lead singer. Quality stuff! Cheers! M2

Naw, I got permission from the DRT... Cheers! M2

I had a small run (three, to be exact) of these AK-47 morale patches made by NameTags4U to see how they'd turn out. I am pretty happy with 'em, but they are still considered "custom" orders and to get more at a lower price I'd have to order a higher quantity. I am still thinking about it but wanted to see if anyone else was interested. An order of 3-5 would be $7.50 each, 6-11 drops that down to $6 each and 12-23 would be only $4.50 each. They are the usual 1" x 2" with Velcro on the back. If anyone's interested, post a reply and if there's enough I'll contact everyone with the details. As I said, right now I am only contemplating an order, but if there's enough interest I'll most likely do so. Cheers! M2

WTF? Anyone who regularly watches this excellent show knows that no one is immune from the humor! Clarkson, May and the Hamster regularly make fun of Americans as being fat, stupid and nothing but NASCAR fans who don’t know how to drive or make a car. I guess it’s OK for George Lopez to crack on Mexicans, but not a bunch of pompous Brits! Fuck 'em! Cheers! M2

You'll love the Kimber, but put a few hundred rounds down the pipe before you consider using it as your primary self-defense weapon. Most 1911s need a little breaking in, and they are more susceptible to FTFs when using JHPs when they’re new. Get a few boxes of Winchester White Box FMJs at WallyMart and then put a box or two of whatever self-defense ammo you plan to use through it, then once you are comfortable that it will reliably work; then you should start carrying it, but not before! I think he stole the idea from this...

I think it'd have to be...a 20mm would be pretty loud, don'tcha think?!? On a different note, I had NameTags4U custom make some AK-47 morale patches for me just to see how they would turn out. Well, they turned out pretty damn nice! The bad news is that because they were a "custom" job, getting more made up will still cost more (between $4.50-7.50 each, depending on the number ordered) versus what they normally stock (which are $3/each). Since I only ordered three (the minimum order), I'd like to get more because I know my 13-yr-old is gonna snag a few of them; so if anyone is interested in "getting some" let me know, and I'll let you know if/when I decide to order more. Cheers! M2

I need a new squirrel rifle, so I am thinking about picking up one of these... Anyone got one? Cheers! M2

I dunno, Rain, I think it is a pretty good idea; and we should return illegals back to Mexico via the same means of transportation! Cheers! M2

Wow, you ruled out the XD? Different strokes, I guess... You might want to check out Taurus, they've got a few 'Nines' that are pretty nice and well within your price range. I've got a PT111 (double stack) and a PT709 Slim (single stack) that are both BUGs but I trust them almost as much as my XD (which I love, but to each his own). However, I would steer clear of the Beretta 92F, I hated carrying it while on active duty and it put me off 9mm pistols for years afterward. The damn thing is a pig and I couldn't stand the grip. It was only after I traded for the PT111 that I grew to like the round again. Good luck with your search, I would recommend going to a gun show or shop and checking out a lot of guns before deciding. Cheers! M2

Yep, got a Mossberg 500 Persuader; it's all I need in a shottie! Yeah, it's the $200 tax stamp that's slowing me down more than anything. If it weren't for that requirement, I think I'd own several SBR'd Dracos... Cheers! M2

T-bonez Naw, I'm still debating whether to pick up a FPK in blonde or brunette; or the SBR my Draco. I have a set of "almost black/really dark plum" handguards and pistol grip set from Armory USA inbound that may send me down this road... But I am still considering going the AIMR route with a sidefolder. I may regret the decision one day, but I'm not sweating this ATF study for now...how about you? Speaking of guns, I'm still liking your avatar! Cheers! M2

Remember, this deals with the importation of shotguns; not ones domestically made...

Well, the feared ATF study on the importation of certain shotguns came out today; I wonder how this is gonna affect the Saiga-12... Dang, I knew I should've bought one earlier! Cheers! M2

Rumor was that a long time ago, an unnamed ATC base commander was known for driving around base with a bus in tow to snag people for not saluting his staff car. Once he rounded up a sufficient number of offenders, he'd take 'em all back to his office and make their supervisors come pick them up (after a proper "bollocking" for all, of course). I say "rumor" as I never experienced it firsthand, but the same asshat about ran me over in a crosswalk one day outside of the Club. I still remembered to salute the douchebag, though; and using all five fingers! Cheers! M2

Another great story... Cheers! M2

While nothing new to some of us, it is well-articulated and his examples drive the point home. The ridiculousness of initiatives such as arming the ANA with M-16s is lost on many US seniors. Seriously? While more accurate than its AK counterpart, the AR is a high-maintenance and complex rifle that exceeds the capabilities of all but the most proficient soldiers in the Afghan military. While mastering the basic proficiency of this weapon is easily done by the average US soldier, it is a monumental task for the ANA and they will simply give up on it when they get frustrated (which will occur very early in the program). I suspect most of the rifles will end up in insurgent hands anyway. Oddly enough, Afghan commandos and special forces still use the AK. What I like most about Veneri’s excellent article is his point that some of the obstacles we face in Afghanistan may be insurmountable. That is a tough concept for most Americans to grasp, especially those in the military. We are trained to believe that every problem can be fixed, but we all know that simply just isn’t the case. Unfortunately, it appears that Afghanistan may be one such problem! Thanks for posting this, I am passing it on! Cheers! M2
