  1. The sad part is that I recognize most of these avatars from my many adventures in online pornland.
  2. There's some decent looking girls at our CGOC... still, I don't think I'll go back.
  3. I wore ABUs today because it's hot as hell and I like to take the blouse off and cool down. That and apparently they don't make a flight suit that fits a 6'3" dude who weighs 195lbs; either too short or too big. Besides, I have much bigger things to worry about than making sure everyone knows I'm a flyer and to stay out of my way.
  4. I can't wait for reflective shoulder harnesses.
  5. I'd shit my pants if I had to fly out of Cannon AFB... wait... damnit.
  6. Agreed. Two-piece flight suits are WAY more functional than a one piece. But I hear we'll never go to the two piece as an air force b/c of the ejection seat guys.
  7. I remember the girl working the tower a few months ago telling us we couldn't land during quiet hours; this after we supported a TIC and were min fuel. Needless to say, we landed without incident and never heard anymore about our "violation of quiet hours".
  8. Just swung through en route back home and the nerds got us for the following violations: 2 reflective belt (in the fog) 2 untucked shirts 1 hat 1 sunglasses on the head 1 washing hands before eating chow I for one am surprised at the dark horse of the group, hand washing. Here's to you, Mr Al Udeid Policy Enforcer!
  9. Yeah, he's the same guy who argues AC-130s weren't needed nor would they have made a difference during "blackhawk down". Give me a break, Bowden wins the "Epic Fail" award for that little nugget of wisdom.
  10. This thread brings tears to my eyes.
  11. For Finance Guy (or anyone else, really)--I arrived in OEF late December--too late for the Dec LES, so I ended up paying taxes that month. Unfortunately, I never got reimbursed for December tax free in the Jan LES. Finance told me the tax free will be reimbursed when I file my taxes. My W-2 was correct, in that it doesn't count December's salary, but it does show that I was taxed during that time. Maybe someone can help me understand why/how filing my taxes will pay me back for the tax free in Dec.
  12. For SABC gouge, check wikianswers. It has about 85% of the questions/answers that some upstanding citizen uploaded. Just cut/paste key parts of a question into the search box and.. bing, bong, boom, you're done!
  13. Sorry dude, deploy a few times and watch the AH-64 guys in korengal and kamdesh hang it out EVERY night. In OEF and OIF, we (USAF) don't hold a candle to that.
  14. Taking a Hawker 1000 to a congressional hearing about bailout was pretty retarded, but, a CEO at that level MUST have the flexibility of corporate travel despite the extra cost. Having flown these tards around for a while before joining, I noticed corporate travel gives the CEOs a substantial advantage over his air carrier riding competition.
  15. I've been fortunate enough to have received quite a bit of advice in my squadron; mostly from ClearedHot. As busy as we are, the squadron does a good job looking out for younger dudes.
  16. You think I want to lose my ass on my house near Hurlburt FL and fly gunships in the skidmark of the United States, Clovis NM? We're all getting fuct one way or the other so suck it up.
  17. Leadership (or the horrible application thereof) is a great thread name--not to sound too dramatic but these AEG and AEW/CCs will go down in my book as some of the worst people in the Air Force.
  18. The actual act of buttoning up your blue shirt and zipping your blue pants is pretty easy. I really don't care if I wear a friggin clown costume on Thursdays. What I care about is Lumberg more being concerned with Hawaiin Shirt Day and not the hundreds of other OPERATIONAL concerns with the WAR that is going on NOW. I'd start a list of discrepancies like AC-130U wingboxes, predator manning shortfalls, et al but I'd be at my computer for hours and probably end up crashing the baseops.net server. FYI - The Full Sail IPA is pretty good.
  19. You all should be ashamed of yourselves; Senior Master Sgt. Joe Kost put himself out there on the line to return good order and discipline to a unit that is in desperate need of it. How many of you would've done the right thing even though it may not "popular"? It's no wonder that he made Chief. He has the military bearing and good conscience of Jimmy Doolittle and Curtis Lemay. I'm sure he will go on to do great things and deploy for the first time in his career to al Udeid and set aircrew straight not only on a daily basis but hopefully an hourly basis.
  20. Not every day you see a WB-57 driving around Afghanistan.
  21. Good point but at least some of the aircrew run the risk of having the bailout or for the airlift dudes driving through the WEZ of MANPADs on their way in/out of FOBs. I do see where you're coming from, though.
