  1. Alright ladies and Gentlemen, we got a big one today.

So, first is news that the Tres was hacked (and probably a ton more agencies) - https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/russian-government-spies-are-behind-a-broad-hacking-campaign-that-has-breached-us-agencies-and-a-top-cyber-firm/ar-BB1bToak

This is on the heels of the FireEye hack, and now it looks like Solar Winds (a network monitoring/management tool) was hacked leading to the access into the Fed.  This is inline with the supply chain attack, similar to NotPetya a few years ago.

So, you'll notice that the hack was discovered this weekend and agencies are already burning whatever tools there were that allowed allegedly Russia to get in.  CISA, the "new" DHS agency that Chris Krebs was running before the orange dummy fired him, has come a long way and is doing a good job so far.  This would have taken them weeks just a couple years ago.  Now they've sped that up to hours after compromise report, with intel to check for.  Pretty cool!

In case you were wondering what Russia has to say about it - "The Russian Embassy in Washington on Sunday called the reports of Russian hacking “baseless.” In a statement on Facebook it said, “attacks in the information space contradict” Russian foreign policy and national interests. “Russia does not conduct offensive operations” in the cyber domain."

Thoughts moving forward.  I think this will be seen as another escalation in norms (like the OPM hack).  I expect Trump's admin to do nothing as they continue pouting.  I think that Biden is going to have a very interesting line to walk, but we will not see what comes out of it for about 2 years.  With USCC stepping up their game, there could be legitimate cyber consequences (hit some type of clearly military infrastructure) and the usual financial sanctions/diplomats kicked out.  Previous to Biden's admin, cyber responses to these actions have not been made public (usually) even though they are effective.

If Bottas wasn't worried about his job before, he certainly is now (no proof, of course).  It's so hard to tell with him, he is Mr. "Nonplussed."

Didn't he just get a new contract?

Yes, there were folks way out at the end of the spectrum that said some stupid $hit so true statement.

Including the current Prez before he was elected.  I wonder if he was able to find the real birth certificate once he was sworn in?

Do I think it means the SCOTUS saves the day? No. The media problem isn't something the government can solve. But everyone laughing and scorning the Trump team for making bold claims in public that never materialize in court sure seem to be forgetting the Adam Schiff (D) show on CNN for several years assuring us that Donald Trump was a Russian puppet, and using his position on the Intelligence Committee as standing to back up the claim. Yet nothing was every taken to court. There is no honest way to argue that the same standard has been used on Joe Biden as has been used on Donald Trump. That hypocrisy is very, very visible to conservatives. And whenever (D) voters get into a conversation with (R) voters, there is a general refusal to admit the clearly obvious difference in treatment between the two. And when that is pointed out, inevitably it's some variation of but Donald Trump is so much more offensive. He cheats on his wives! His businesses fail! His kids are only doing well because of Daddy! But to say these things in such a manner completely ignores the reality of politics.

Bill Clinton was getting his dick sucked by a 22 year old in the oval office, while very much married. Kennedy was flying 19 year-olds around the world for drug-fueled orgies, also married. Sanford, Gingrich, and plenty of other republicans too. John Edwards had a love child while his wife was dying of cancer. Hillary Clinton literally ran a server in a bathroom that she had destroyed when it was discovered. Then lied about having the emails from the server. These people are monsters.

And going back before Trump, George Bush, by every account a decent man, was called a Nazi. Mitt Romney was maybe the most charitable politician in history, and he too was smeared as an evil monster. And don't even get me started on Brett Kavanaugh.

So is Trump a horrible person? Yup. But not one fucking percent more horrible than the parade of Democrats and Republicans who hate him so furiously.

Concur on most of this, and the stuff I don't I would probably consider a matter of degrees of difference.

And now Joe Biden is getting a pass for his kid clearly and obviously using the family name for profit, and kids are off limits? Didn't seem so for the Trump kids. And when evidence (yes, first hand testimony is evidence) comes out that Joe Biden was aware, well that's just one guy saying some stuff. If photos of Tiffany Trump snorting coke while she worked for a Russian company making $50k/month in an industry where she had zero experience or skill were to make it public, the whole world would erupt, and we all know it.

Here's where I don't agree.  "The media" hasn't gone after Barron, or the other kids who aren't in a political office.  As a Dad who's literally looking down the future of a son who's not on a right path no matter what I do, I also don't think we hold the Father for the crimes of the son, even if the name was invoked for dirty dealings.  My son's said shit to me that I thought sounded ok...found out after it wasn't.  I wouldn't do that for Don Jr, an I won't do it for Hunter.    I think that the appointment of Trumps kids to political office was reprehensible and should be outlawed by the Legislature in the next session.

But again, when the kids are appointed to political positions...fair game.

Would getting a foot-job by Natalie Biden (14 year old) cover that requirement? That "footage" has been leaked on the internet by the Chinese guy.

Have you watched this "footage?"  What's the FBI going to go for...taxes, or CP?

  7. So, assuming that the Supreme Court overrides in only those listed states in the argument, and not the other states that Trump won that had the same type of "election changes."

What happens next?  Majority of people did not vote for Trump either in the popular vote, or in the places where they are contesting.  There has still be zero evidence of fraud to claw back a Trump win anywhere.  He's engaged in attempting to get legislatures to go against the will of the people that voted.

Do you think the run-off in Georgia would go R if that were to happen?  I have extreme doubts.

Are we looking at a general strike and protests?  Are we back at riots?  Would the Congress even convene?  You couldn't ever get me to attend a protest for BLM, Abortion rights, gay rights, whatever.  I could see myself attending one where millions were disenfranchised through no fault of their own.

Now you're just being disingenuous. They voted that one down cause it is being combined with the TX case.

Again, you get things wrong.  It was denied, and Kelly is not in on the new complaint nor has he filed a brief in support of it.  Check here.

Had a buddy that did a gig there as SOS instructor.  Loved it.  However, you're basically forgotten from your AFSC.  Depending on the O6's that are coming around some even viewed it as "ditching the career field."  You're busy just instructing, while everyone else is "leading."

If you're career...why would you ever do that.  Lets look at the bios of a statistically significant sampling of O6's and 1-stars...how many have PME instructor as a Capt on there?

That said, Maxwell in 2017 was actually really nice.  Hard to believe.

Article pushes out some interesting ideas.  It would make SOS more like ALS, which it basically is now.  To claim the instruction there gets down into doctrine, strategy, or anything of lasting value is a lie.  Other service school are much longer, and we just don't instruct the same way.

So.  Whatever was used to get in is going to get burned, or turned over to the Fed for examination and use.

Every tool they have is going to get hashed and given to the cybersecurity vendors out there.  Be interesting to see if we see any attributable patches to vulns they might have developed.  Kinda like WannaCry after the alleged-NSA loss of tooling.

    Overall...it sucks!

The AF has a huge problem with dogma. We culturally engrain our own to continue turning the wheel without the merit of asking why we are turning it. I've seen this so many times in my career, sometimes to the strategic embarrassment of the United States. It's the same reason commanders still look at master's degrees and ACSC for school looks, and other bullshit.

On a slightly different note, I think vaccine participation just got significantly higher. At least with 49% of the population!

This has as much chance as every other "legitimate" lawsuit that's been filed so far, and is about as absurdly obvious as a desperate attempt to stop the inevitable...

I'm sure SCOTUS is dying to let Texas stomp all over other state's rights.  It would be a great precedent.  I wonder how Texas would respond if someone tried to force them to do something the Lonestar State didn't want to.

Considering Texas modified voting rules and procedures in exactly the same way...it's not surprised indicted felon Ken Paxton is doing this.  Probably to get a pardon from Daddy Trump from the FBI investigating deep into his taking bribes and abusing office.

So was it: unconstitutionality, or hacking, or fraudulent ballots, or flipped votes.  I guess they're hoping something sticks to the wall to disenfranchise millions.

Meanwhile Lying Ted Cruz, with the ugly wife and assassination Dad, is offering to argue it.

So our Sq is soliciting volunteers for COVID vaccine volunteers. I guess our base is getting a limited number and it's a trial run.

What really makes me scratch my head is that nobody can answer if it will DNIF us, if we will get sick/symptoms, how long the trial is (besides the fact that it is two doses), and several other seemingly obvious questions/answers. Not sure if this because nobody knows or if it's just bad communication from the top down on this tasker.

If it doesn't DNIF me, I don't get stupidly sick, and I can avoid ROM/prison lodging rooms on my TDYs I think I'd rather roll the dice with the vaccine.

I know it probably doesn't compare. But I did a new flu vaccine test last year. They tracked me for almost six months, and I had a weekly email to respond to with health status.  If I got sick I got some amazon gift cards and...free health care. 😁
