Sadly there aren’t many humans worse than Biden /
Harris. What are you basing this on? Personality, morally, patriotically?
I'm not sure how you have Biden in the same room as Trump, point to Biden and go, "He's the reprehensible one."- 1

Good.
Didn't want to make another post, but as a statistics nerd 538's analysis has been a lot of fun.

The hilarious irony is that Donald Trump, the great vulgarian, has accomplished more conservative policy goals than any Republican in the past 50 years. I really do wish there was a way to get that without the tweeting, the narcissism, or any of the other myriad character flaws he possesses. But there isn't. And Kamala, who has a decent chance at being president, publicly called for equality of outcome. No thanks.
Than Reagan? Really?

Kind of begs the question because it seems like you're all on board: what technologies are worth keeping domestic due to the security risk? Would you sell F-22's to Russia if they would pay to open the production line? How bout somewhere like Turkey? Would you sell other technologies just because they would pay for a portion of them?
This isn't as black and white as you guys are making it seem.
Come on, when has Israel every done anything not in the interest of America?!

Yes, though it's a bandaid on a compound fracture.
We need to embrace forced treatment for those unable to maintain a household. This is a weak area for conservatives who have no concept of what a hardcore drug addiction does to your mind. We want people to pick themselves up by the bootstraps, great, we gotta get their mind clean enough to do so.
For liberals this means they have to stop pretending like letting people "live themselves to death" on the streets is some sort of virtue. Homeless people go to jail, not because they are criminal (though many are), but because you have to confine the addict to treatment long enough for it to take effect.
For conservatives, just locking people away won't work. It's going to take money to fix this; treatment is expensive. And providing the anti-addiction drugs for free (forever) will also sting. Tough.
All truth. Ben Shapiro had a good bit of LA history on it his last Rogan podcast appearance. I've got family in Portland who're outraged at how the city is handling the situation. "Just give them homes and out patient treatment, problem solved maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan."
I've had to protect my family from some of the crazies when we go to visit. It's a fucking trip to be in a Burgerville with my young son, having to decide how close is "too close" with a stinky homeless fellow human being dancing in a circle blasted out of their cranuim. Or having to tell people "No" they can't use our bathroom at church because we're scared they're going to use in there.
Liberal head's in the sand about "wanting freedom" fall on my deaf ears when they clean out these tents and there's shit and needles...everywhere. These people have zero freedom while they're broken humans.
But it costs money, and it costs time and it costs compassion. Something I've found in shorter supply from my conservative brothers/sisters, which is interesting with how much the Evangelical movement claims it. Not throwing stones, don't want to get into the political side, just musing I've had for years on this subject.
I'm in UT now, and just last week they were a big push to get out one of the camps in SLC. Reading the headlines about it...so many are mentally broken AND addicted to drugs. There are a lot of shelters here, there's a lot the government does here. But people don't want to go to a prison like place (they lock the doors at night) and "told what to do" (can't shoot up). Can't say which came first the mental illness/drugs, but they need forceful help or life in a mental health care facility until they can rejoin us in society.
I'm happy to pay taxes towards that end, and donate (and will continue to) to the services that provide those ends. This is a needs a concerted effort by both government (local/state/federal) and communities (individuals/organizations/churches) to solve.
I say all this having had a homeless scare earlier in my life, and later becoming physically dependent on opiates during some prolonged extreme pain. I was never addicted, but the thought of being dependent on a pill to get through the day was, and is, terrifying.- 5

Around the town square, people were in chairs under umbrellas holding Trump signs while the passing traffic honked, gave thumbs up, etc.
I got inside, got my ballot from the clerk who said it had been like this for days. ( I know, I stopped by two other days last week and the line was too long). As I'm voting, the clerk explains to the 50-60 year old man immediately behind me that he could vote a straight ticket if he wanted. He said "What's that mean? I'm sorry, I've never voted before."
That's just my little corner of the world, but I have never ever seen anything like it, and neither had anyone around me in line I was talking to.
Good!

Yep, not continued but my ADSC was up in Nov '19. Everyday past that was because I wanted to be there. Felt like a weight off my shoulders (doubly so since I hit 20yrs in Jun '19).
Come PCS time got Stratcom as LNO (basically) from 16AF...hard pass.- 1

I'm curious about that as well.
I could use some feedback on this:
I laughed a lot more at "Trump's" lines than "Biden's," but I want to believe it's because they are funnier and based on exaggerations of Biden's flaws, whereas the lines against Trump are more preachy and issue oriented, i.e. meant to have a political message as an undertone.
I thought the Hillary vs Trump one was much better.
Laughed more at Trump too, but I think that's tied into the "Trump style" of delivery being even more exaggerated. Dude's an entertaining, never said he wasn't. Building on that for the video I think is easier.
I thought Biden's were "harder hitting" for whatever a fake rap battle is.- 1

Synopsis?
I just watched the unedited 60 minutes after watching the actual 60 minutes. Holy crap. What a hit piece 60 minutes did. Man. Amazing liberal editing job. They even had to know the full video was out and they still went out and published their edited junk.
And wow. Biden and K just seething with bold face lies. Never seen anything like it. It was bold in your face flat out lying. With evidence to the contrary already out in public. No fact checking needed. It was as if they were asked what is the most untrue ridiculous way you can answer this. And if K didn’t know the answer, she just awkwardly laughed. Which is her equivalent to Biden’s “come on man”. I’ve never been more sure of who I was voting for then after seeing those two liars tonight.I wonder if this is one of those things where I'd watch it and come to a completely different interpretation.

I'm a fan of Dan Crenshaw, but I understand there are many who aren't.
I also like Tammy Duckworth, even though I don't share her political views. I absolutely think she fights for what she believes in and she's there to make the country better. We just have different ideas of how to do it.
Congresswoman Duckworth lighting up that dude claiming to be a veteran is one of my fav government hearing moments.

This is a really interesting conversation. Especially from a societal influence on monogamy perspective.
I'd add along with tax benefits, we've added so many other things that either require or are made significantly easier due to marriage. Things like getting insurance, visiting your significant other in the hospital, buying a house, etc. Hell, right now my wife couldn't even get on base with me if we weren't married.
Even if there wasn't societal pressure, the government makes it almost a requirement for long term couples.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app
Government does these things because they're seen as valuable to continuing society/culture or government itself if you're cynical. That's why there's tax breaks for kids, marriage and other things deemed "good" by the legislature.

Disagree. Pushing your particular religious views onto the population as a whole is anathema to American values. No one is forcing Mike Pence to marry a man. No serious person is suggesting that his relIgion should change it’s beliefs. He is free to practice as he sees fit. Actively attempting to deny an entire segment of the population of rights the rest of us enjoy is certainly treating them poorly and is a shitty position to take.
So if that's the same way his constituencies wanted him to vote at that time...still "pushing his religious values?" Please note, I'm not talking about now. I really hate this looking back, 10, 20, 100 years to denigrate what people believed/did that was the norm at the time.
As someone else said, a lot has changed for the better. I have friends and family members that can now enjoy family life similar to mine.
However, I am waiting for the "LGBTQA+ community" to start coming after Churches for denying them the access to use the facilities. The lawsuits will start at some point and while protections are currently present...they may fall in the future as more and more citizens find less value in existential belief.- 1

I hate to sound like a commercial here but seeing this post peaked my interested and got me to call Geico - and now I'm switching.
I had some bad experiences with USAA, most recently with my car buying experience last February - and the insurance policy I just got with Geico is $80/month cheaper with all coverage's remaining the same as I had with USAA.
I've been with USAA for over a decade - feels weird to change things up.
Almost same. Been w/ USAA for...14 years, maybe 18. Called up a few places State Farm was the best and giving it a shot. I will say I've had 0 issues with USAA, and their comms were always excellent. But I'm saving almost $100 a month with full coverage.

I read that some Russian gazillionaire with a driver son is going to partner with Haas with the son getting one of the seats a la Stroll at Racing Point.
At first, regarding Stroll and, potentially, this guy, I was irritated because daddy bought him the seat. But then realized/read that many drivers have big money sponsors behind them that provide money to the team in exchange for their boy getting the drive. It being a parent simply cuts out the middle man.
I'd like it to be based on ability only, but that ain't the way the world works, so I sit back and watch the cars and turn off the outrage machine.
Have you watched the doc series on F1? Has a good breakdown of the "sponser" issues when it came to Perez and...Sainz? Or was it Ocon? I can't remember.

That dude was the most frustrating driver for me. Albon coming in #2. Haas is out right? Seen rumors they're selling.

I crossed out Harris for a reason. Keeping this on Biden.
So it's a purely political thing for you then? Trump hasn't been in a position to do those things politically, but has done some awful things commercially/personally. Those get a wash? LGBT movement...a lot of current politicians disagreed with (ex. Pence, Obama, Dubya, etc.). I'm not versed enough in his politics for "bad choices" on the military.
I guess the point I'm trying to understand (from red to blue) is how you can think him, as an individual, as a bad person compared to Trump. Not as a politician, he's been in gov't far to long to be "clean," but Trump's lack of politics just means I include what he was doing during that time. At least I'd think they'd be even.
