O-4 promotion rate is ~90%. Your math does not work.

Because railing against your boss is such a good idea... Making your boss's goals for the organization your goals for the organization is the right thing to do. You can argue in private, but at the end of the day, you need to support your boss in public.

And you can't put a single ISU 90 into any of those pallet positions, unless you restrict it to centerline only.

Gen Welsh - USAF Chief of Staff
Completely incorrect. Formatting height means centerline pallets only. Lack of aft lavatories means it has problems with flying pax too. Hello comfort pallet that must be moved up to the cargo door every stop to be serviced. The KC-10 is a tanker/transport machine. The KC-135 is a great tanker. The KC-46 is overall ok.

I heard the G650 has a good possibility of replacing JSTARS.

We used to do this. Squadrons and above had non-rated execs. Guess what? The CC still had a "flying exec" pool who worked right next to the non-rated exec. Nothing new under the sun.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
It depends. You have to consider your current tax situation and your projected future tax situation. For most military people, the Roth side of things is pretty nice, especially if you get CZTE and can reduce your taxable income significantly. In that case, money invested in the Roth IRA and Roth TSP (also the earnings) never get taxed.

New SOS in-correspondence
You can only take it if you're ineligible for residence. Does it matter how long it takes?

Unless something changed, aren't DNPs removed from considered in the overall eligibility? I thought the promotion opportunity was x% of DP plus P records.

Is the KC-10 going to be cut?
To quote Gen Welsh: "if sequestration returns for FY16, we will have to consider the future of the KC-10." Did the other 24 jets and the rest of the sims get funded for CNS/ATM? I'm out of the loop on that.

Tax info
Intuit pulled a lot of features from Deluxe and moved them to the more expensive Premium version. I dumped TT several years ago for H&R Block and I've never looked back. It is also worth considering a tax preparer because some of them can get you more legal tax money back than their fee costs.

Last I remember hearing was that our guy who left before the AD board but was selected will meet a records only board or something next year and that he'll wind up pinning on as a result.

You are wrong, if by "due" you mean due to the board. We had a guy recently get selected for Lt Col after he separated and went to the reserves.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
It should be pre-tax % still for Traditional and Roth contributions. I had no problems changing my contribution today. Math for max contribution is still easy: figure out the percentage that just undercuts the limit. If you get a tax free month, then just over contribute by bumping to the next percent of pay since the max goes up quite a bit when you get CZTE.
