  1. Depending on how they define "SDP eligible locations," which has always included some sort of "in a combat zone receiving HFP or IDP," the SDP may not still be available in places like Al Udeid. I am curious, now that Al Udeid no longer has IDP but is in the CZTE area, if I can still participate in the SDP after deploying there. I figure someone here must have recently passed their 30 day requirement to participate and would like to benefit from their first-hand experience and knowledge.
  2. So, with the removal of most countries from the IDP list, how has the SDP been affected, if at all?
  3. Based on what I read from my peers over the 8 weeks of RE2, not very serious. I wasted a good bit of effort and time writing mine to personal standards that were way too high for AU. YMMV.
  4. Hampton Roads is nice and also very close. Avoid having to use any tunnel and you'll avoid most of the traffic. Norfolk (pronounced Nawfuck) is cheap enough you could buy a place and become a slumlord later in life...but that requires crossing tunnel(s).
  5. For those of us who were flying in the early days, were shot at or those we know who were hit, would differ on that opinion.
  6. Flight over the appropriate land mass (in this case, Afghanistan) May be logged as combat time for the entire duration of flight regardless of where it took off or landed. Flight in the other geographic areas defined by executive order or Congress count as combat support.
  7. You mean "perfectly photoshopped?"
  8. UCT is either Nav training...or Cyber training. Neither of which are really tough.
  9. What CC pressure? I know it happened in the past, but I have yet to see any pressure from a CC of any level to take the bonus.
  10. I suspect this year's O-5 board results will be eye-opening. I'd like to be wrong though.
  11. Decoder ring is found on the MyPers website. Somewhere in the "how to apply" instructions.
  12. No PSDM for official release...no application window on AMS. Pretty simple.

  14. I know a retired 4-star who got two DUIs during his career as well as was consistently "escorted" home by SFS many nights while a sitting Wg/CC.

  18. And since NJ just signed away their rights to force Verizon to complete the promised fiber to all NJ residents because "4G is pretty much broadband," don't expect to ever get anything but Comcast built out to you.
  19. Supposedly a guy at my base put in for VSP, was denied and PCS'd, and the PC'd on arrival at his new duty station. PCS'd back to the Reserve squadron at my base. Not verified but good source.
  20. Right direction, yes. Too late though, considering that 3849s were already signed before it came out and Wg/CCs are still ranking based on AAD completion date.

Is that like the deathly hallows?
  22. Hm. So, when do we get an increase in flight pay? It isn't very much when you consider the value lost due to inflation...
