  1. That depends...this is case law in about 38 or so states. Dram shop liability is that a bar, bartender or host can be held strictly liable but only if they continue serving alcohol to someone that is obviously drunk or close to being drunk. If what I recently read is accurate, I think CA just did away with the strict liability piece since there is an intervening piece to all of this...namely the drunk person and their actions. That is not what this is about though. This guy could have just as easily shot her with a bow, stabbed her with a knife, used a club to beat her to death...there are numerous ways to kill a person. The gun may have made this easier but this guy was intent on killing her and no one was paying attention that could have stopped it.
  2. What you were told is what people I know are doing. I forget the form number. I'm sure someone will chime in.
  3. ?? Maybe a subtle difference between an air race and an air show but weren't spectators killed in Reno in 2011?
  4. You asked for feedback and Seriously provided some. Stop being a SNAP and take the advice and move on. Seriously was actually being nice...I'll say what he didn't. Your AFOQT scores are terrible. Get some study material and put forth the extra effort and bring all of them up if this is something you are committed to. Otherwise, stop wasting your time.
  5. Nah, not confusing at all... We should decriminalize anything and everything that doesn't involve a child. Otherwise you are just marginalizing all sorts of segments of the population. It's not fair. Why should anyone be sent to prison? There is no need for any sort of societal standard. Live and let live. (Sarcasm intended)
  6. Sounds like what I remember from the back corner of Camp Andy (O and P row) in the fall of '03
  7. You missed the FAIP assignment, or was that intentional?
  8. Get LR manning back down close to 100% and it would help. Get Mx to generate more sorties instead of what? Only about 30 a week? Of those 30 you guys only get about 10 that are productive, right? Sounds like someone needs to figure out the Mx generation piece and stop with the 130-150% manning. How many Dyess tails are loaned out to the schoolhouse? How about the WIC when they ask? Nothing sinister here. Just a different set up for an organization that tried to learn lessons along the way and not repeat "mistakes" of the past.
  9. My info may be dated but money for training payback does not exist ( at least it did not exist in 2011). Had a guy who still had multiple years of UPT ADSC who wanted out. MAJCOM/CV tried hard to force him to pay back money for the training and finally figured out that it could not be done. Again this was several years ago but...
  10. Agreed. I was late rated as well. I didn't go to UPT until I was a Capt and didn't get to my first flying assignment until I had 6.5 years under my belt. Upgraded ahead of several dudes to AC, IP, EP. Was a flying Sq/CC and am currently a flying Group/CC. It's not all rainbows and sunshine but this hyperbole about the sky falling is over the top. This in no way makes UPT direct RPA a good idea.
  11. You know, the leopard. The epitome of stealth. Its very name brings mental pictures of this great spotted cat crouched on a tree limb awaiting the approach of a gazelle, or of a sleek, spotted body slipping silently through the dry savanna grass. (Borrowed from a well-known zoo website)
  12. Has anyone put together a C130J design for a Bremont? I know someone was talking about it but I never saw that design or know if it got done
  13. I would agree with guineapigfury...good leadership transcends AFSC. I don't know if I can get past the Bachelors from Clemson though.
  14. No. When you final out they make you sign your orders with the date and time you will depart the local area on your PCS. Just make sure you put Saturday or whatever date and time you plan to leave. Also, keep the emails just in case there is a question. If you are that concerned then get your CC involved.
  15. Right. No TERA because he was offered continuation. So this isn't a matter of sanctuary or not...he was offered continuation to take him to 20.
  16. This was an emergency and it was auto landed. They were worried about lots of issues that night and were specifically asked to put their best "pilot" at the controls...they told me that it was not physically flown to the runway...they had to override multiple system defaults just to get it to take the command to auto land...YMMV
  17. I'm deployed at a location with the Gray Eagle now. The enlisted dude pushes a button and this thing auto lands. It flies a programmed flight path as well. No one physically flies it to landing or for a go-around. Take offs, IDK. I asked who was landing one that was inbound as an emergency landing and the info above came straight from the unit commander.
  18. So, correct me if I am wrong but the Army enlisted guys don't fly this thing to landing, right? It has an auto land system. So are you talking about maneuvering it around targets or something else?
  19. Damn, I'm glad I got mine done last month. My buddy and I scheduled 2-3 months out. I guess the rush is now on to get scheduled before the written expires.
  20. I thought you could use your HOR move at any time, but only once. (But I've been wrong before). Try finding it in the JTR and see what it actually says.
  21. Used Downtown Aviation. All previous comments about them are pretty much valid. $1500, 2 flights and a half day of GT made this an easy choice for me. Just show up prepared and having studied.
