  1. Im with Champ on this...staying proficient in a MAF jet and taking masters classes are doable. I got started soon after MCT at my first base and took just about three years to complete an OU masters in IR. I spent good time at home when classes were out, never did school work on deployments, and was glad to have it finished by time I pinned on Captain. In today's economy it seems like a masters is just the new bachelors.
  2. Can't enter the room of the opposite gender. No worries if you want to go and bang a dude in his room though. Pretty sure it's a GO1B thing, not base specific.

  7. I blame AFI 11-202V3 para 8.1. My community has little justification for VFR training outside the local pattern. Other communities have more of a need for VFR training and are more proficient with the rules.

  9. Maybe they think FGOs are safer than CGOs in general? I got handed my RFF from a dude in the mobility shop as I stepped off the redeployer...no Wg/CC explanation of anything.
  10. If you can begin the day you pin on Capt then that may be worth doing, but if you try stretching it out to Maj (S) to get ACSC credit you won't be finished before your board meets (obviously). Isn't this a giant catch-22? You need the masters to get the DP on the PRF, but you can only get ACSC credit if you complete the course while a Maj (S)?
  11. Touche. If by Grand Forks you mean McConnell (no more tankers at GF). I hadn't heard about USAFE giving up their tankers. You sure they simply haven't been tasked by TACC to fight the war from France?

  13. EQs can make it to OPRs and PRFs. At least the Ops guy on the board will know what the heck it means.

  15. i usually just update around the time that my OPR is due. I'm usually in the CC's office for feedback around that time anyway, so it's a good time to knock both out.

  18. AMS lists 11M positions at RAAF Amberley (A330) and Ottawa City (A330). I've been trying to figure out what the 11M exchange is in Zaragoza, Spain.
  19. The irony is, for me, that since I've decided to separate when my UPT commitment it up, I'd actually benefit from a change and lack of grandfathering clause.
  20. You could always just check the "No" box and see what happens. Seriously though, I'm genuinely interested in this. If they hand me orders with a 2 year ADSC and I only have 18 months on my UPT commitment, can't I just check "No Thanks" and set a separation date of 18 months in the future?
