  1. Like WX said, its all timing. Some VML's they take half the dudes PCS'ing to MC's or HC's. Sometimes they send every dude to the same slick base with no other options because thats what AFPC needs.
  2. Not flying does not have much to do with manning, just overall commitments, which could change tomorrow. The squadron is about to pcs a bunch of dudes out though and not a whole lot of fp's coming in. Could be good or bad for those still here.
  3. Ramstein is now blues Monday on the first Monday of the month between May and October, or something like that.
  4. Not right now... There has been help before and its always possible to happen again.
  5. Gone a lot on random TDY's all over the place and reacting to whatever weird crap is happening in the area at the time. Be ready to be gone a lot with little notice. Most of the TDY's are a few days, some longer. So far no long term deployments. They have been rumored but that's all they have been. And the squadron is technically 120% manned on copilots, but everyone is still busy all the time doing all sorts of random stuff. The 120% is an AFPC number. Overall I would call my experience in the squadron awesome. And your living in Germany.

  9. I bought mine off the rack in Pop's. They have just about every size with every form of the mod's on the shelf. You can also have them measure you and get one custom made.
  10. Not more authentic. Wool collar is a Navy thing. I know some guys that had it put in, but most do not. As far as the liners, i havn't seen any fur liners inside the main part of the jacket. The "3m Thinsulate liner" is standard and is what I have, and I don't wear it unless its down near freezing because its too warm otherwise. Do get the fur liner in the pockets. Its awesome and really helps keep your hands warm.

  14. What if you interservice transfer and they put you in E-6's after having Corporate jet experience in C-21's? Are you cool with that?
  15. - Co's have been upgrading min time ~18 months, but expect that to change now that there is not an AC void - overseas assignments are 2 years if your single, 3 if you are married, normally with the option to extend a year for both. Stateside is 4 years - Most guys from ETAR recently have done Dyess or Cannon for slick J's or AFSOC J's, some have gone to Little Rock as well. J model guys are high demand right now, but you have 3 to 4 years so things could change. With multiple squadrons standing up though it will probably remain similar. Thats all I've got, I'll let someone who knows more about the other questions answer them.
  16. A couple of weeks ago they were having issues with their NIPR side e-mail, thats why they were doing the SIPR stuff. You should still be good to go with NIPR.
  17. I was on casual and went through UPT with him. Such an awesome person. Always trying to do the right thing in every part of his life. Great loss to everyone that knew him. Can't believe he is gone. A toast...
  18. I went to Incurlik a couple of weeks ago and after we landed headed over to customs to get our orders stamped. Right as we pull up in the crew bus we notice a large coach bus that was parking next to us, and about 50 dudes in wierd looking blues got out and beat us into the line for customs. We got in line behind them and were pissed, cause it was eating into our limited drinking/shopping time. Then we realized that these guys were TIB. A C-17 crew pulled up right after us and was waiting behind us, when their AC starts skipping the line. So our AC skips the line and tells the customs guy we need to get through for crew rest issues. 5 minutes later we are stamped and on our way, the whole time all the TIBers were staring at us with a look of shocked anger that somehow we were skipping them in line. It was awesome.

  20. Cannon is an AFSOC base. They arn't getting any slick J's. They are getting MC-J's soon. Corpus does this fairly regularly where they have the wrong plane on the sheet to the wrong base, and it has bit people who didn't know before hand going into the drop. All of a sudden your base/aircraft is not what you picked 2 or 3 days after the drop and they usually won't/can't do anything to fix the situation. Have that in mind when you are looking at the assignment list.

  22. Part of it is they havn't increased the amount of guys going to Corpus, but they have changed what Corpus can drop. Now people are getting U-28's, MC-12's, UAV's, NSA etc. on top of the herks, whereas it used to just be herks. Still need to get those herk pilots from somewhere and they are getting less of them from Corpus now.
  23. Then all the ROTC cadets that piss you off will just say they are Lt.'s and dork up threads anyway, and the ones that don't piss you off will be the ones that follow the rules.
